I've lived here in Fishhawk for about 10 years now. The area has changed a lot in that time due to new developments. Here are some thoughts. Cons- Traffic in and out of Fishhawk. If you are working in Tampa and have to get there in rush hour it will frustrate you. Although that's probably not too different from anywhere else. Inside of Fishhawk there is very little traffic. Fishhawk is a bit of a bubble and raising kids here can give them that sort of sheltered existence. Not always a good thing. I disagree about being disconnected from Tampa though. Although I did say it can be rough to get to the city during rush hour, we can get into the city on weekends with little trouble so we often go in the city for dinner or shows or to see a hockey game. It's very accessible. Some pros- it's a very quiet community full of trees and nature. Lots and lot of kids here. Great trails to walk and jog. Really nice tennis courts and resort style pools. The amenities are really nice! The location has some advantages. You can get to good beaches or Disney both within an hour. Not close but not a huge problem. Lastly home prices have soared- doubled in the time I've been here (definitely a con).
I appreciate the video but the cons are pretty off.
Within walking distance in several areas of Fishhawk Ranch and FH West are grocery stores, fast food, Starbucks, ice cream, and of course, the schools. A LOT of kids walk and bike to school.
Beaches are far more convenient from FH than other suburbs. I've owned homes in including West Meadows, Heritage Harbor, and Grand Hampton.
Beach access and a variety of options are far superior here. We can get to the south beaches and west beaches within 1 hour (Siesta Key, Ft DeSoto, etc) within 65-75 minutes, we can be at Caladesi or Caspersen. We are smack dab in between Tampa and Sarasota, and have several state and county parks within 30 minutes.
We also have over 25 miles of trails within our community. And Lakeland and Disney are pretty close.
Highway 60 is not the main artery to get there.
Bloomingdale avenue is, backed up by gibsonton drive.
Make that same trip at 4:30 p.m. 🤣
Traffic is horrible, Lithia Pinecrest and Fishhawk BV 2 lanes should have been widened years ago. Hillsborough County infrastructure is behind the times
I would love to see more from this area and Bloomingdale. we would love to have some land.
I still prefer Hallandale beach Florida beautiful city good beaches and restaurants growing businesses and communities and a good nightlife.
