Thumbs up 👍 on DTV
Yes, it’s a compelling program. Thanks for watching.
you missed the most important point! if you leave the country (visa run) you will get another 180days
Thanks for posting this informative video. One of my senior family members resides in Thailand now with retirement visa. As a US citizen, he receives SSN benefit. He also dose limited consulting business for US companies and receives some compensations. I have two questions. the first one is, in your opinion, if DTV is better than retirement visa and Is it worth to switch from retirement visa to DTV? The second question is if he can apply DTV while being inside the Kingdom? Upon affirmative answers to Question-1 and Questino-2, the third question is, what is the employment selection? International consultant?
Great video, thanks. We are currently in Thailand, i know you can't apply in thailand. But is it possible to apply in Penang, so not our home country? And when you make a cooking class, how long should the course be, every year for 6month? Thanks in advance
This is confusing. Can I actually only stay for 6 months in Thailand within these 5 years? Or do I get 6 months everytime I reenter?
yes you get again 180 with a visa run! its confirmed by the immigration.
Everyone seems to have this wrong, it is confusing. You can stay 6 months PER YEAR. With one extension in one of the five years. Do in total that 1080 days on this visa.
I have a 60 days visa from my home country and wish to extend fir 30 days is this an easy process and what is required
the 500k proof is in Thai bank or oversea bank in our country? where can I read that?
What if you don't have a registered company or contracts with anyone but just work online as a freelancer taking payments through wise etc? I am a recruiter so I don't have any portfolio apart from messages on various platforms organising interviews. Is that enough evidence?
I applied for DTV VISA , and they replied I didn't get this visa. WHY!!!! I show them all the documents or where they are looking at me form.
After, the 30 days tourist visa extention, of the new 60 days tourist visa exemption, does a land border run allows you to enter back the Kingdom for another 60 days visa exemption?
this is a visa you have to apply for from your home country. tourist visa is not this.
another NEW open question Visa. Tax questions is somewhat open. Can you only extend once or multiple times etc etc.
just leave and come back renew the 180 but the problem is the tax debt to thailand after staying more than 180 days
So if you stay for 5 years without leaving, the fee will be 100k baht?
You CANNOT STAY PAST 360 days. 180 + 180 extension, do the math. There is no second extension, just one.
The extension fee isn't 10,000 THB, it is 1900 like any other.
no it is 10k, 10k per extension..
@@michaelthegreat44 its 10k extension if you stay in thailand. if you leave it resets no fee is what im hearing. the real issue is paying for thai taxes after 180 days.
@@seanwan30 ok, I guess I am reading it wrong. it is 10k fee on application the first time - you need 500k in a bank (any bank) and the 10k fee
Hello , i applied for DTV as a crypto-stocks trader/investor and showed proof that i have money but they say traders/investor are not recognised as a profession.... any toughts?
well it isn't a profession, so no - just enrol in a thai cooking school, or language school, easy way around
Did you lose your 10000 fee?
@@Swenser no they wouldn't of as the fee is processed on application grant.
@@michaelthegreat44 they clearly state when applying for visa that payment may not be refunded. Not that if it is rejected you get your money back.
You said it is only available for people under the age of 50? Not seen that stated anywhere?
I don’t think he said it is ONLY available for people under age 50, but a great option for those under age 50. The reason for this I think is 50 and up is eligible for retirement visa.
I wasn't clear. Is 50 the age limit? 20 - 50? Thanks.
Hi @momohmart, thank you for your question! The age limit is not 50. To apply for the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV), you need to be at least 20 years old. If you are over 50, you can still apply for the DTV. I hope this clarifies things!
Thank you!

Looking like you will need to prove you work for a company and freelancers who design and work for themselves wont be accepted.
