    Wow, interesting video for the new generation. I am old school Air Force Security Police veteran. September 1980 until Dec 1994. I know you are most likely thinking why did you not stay 20. Well during my time they had a program called VSI (yearly payments) or SSB (lump sum. I took the yearly payments. Still getting paid today too. I am glad that military and Air Force in particular really appreciate women serving today. I have a son in the Marines, another son in the Army and now my daughter is getting close to joining and she wants Air Force. So this will help a whole lot, thanks.

      Honestly, before I went into police academy I did a lot of fighting classes and had issues with them. Once academy came around and I kinda had no choice I quickly learned that the BEST way to learn to do proper pushups is to do them, video, and adjust. Start out doing them on your knees and then once you’re comfortable start doing them on your feet.

    • @patriotcraftsboy1046

      Try this workout every other day:
      Pushups: do regular push ups until you hit your limit (or in my case until you faceplant), rest for 30 seconds, do wide grip push ups until your limit, rest for 30 seconds, do triangle push ups until your limit, and then rest for 30 seconds. That's one set. Try to aim for 3 sets. If you want more training later when you improve, increase the number of sets.

    I’m 16 and I’m gonna take AFJROTC next year. Gonna enlist if the Air Force after that (getting one of those fat ass ASVAB books soon) and I just made a workout plan. It’s just a start so I can make it harder as I go. I figure starting now will help me actually be good when I take the PT in the future. One day I run a mile (tbh I walk a tiny bit too just for now and I take breaks between laps 🤷🏼‍♀️), I do 50 squats and 50 sit ups. Next day I do as many modified push ups as I can (lowering down slowly and getting up however), as many arm hangs as I can and a plank. What do you guys think? Is this a good start? Any tips?

    Hey, I'm only 14 but I am planning on joining the Air Force when I'm older. This video was really helpful but I'm really worried about my pushups. I have been doing pushups wrong for 3 years now which makes it hard to switch. I can only do around 10 to 15 pushups the right way. I know I have a long way to go but how many pushups do you think I should do per day. Also, do you have to do pull ups at all, I can't do them and never have been able to and I keep getting someone telling me that I need to do them and then someone else will tell me otherwise. Thank you so much.

      For push ups I recommend this workout:
      Pushups: do regular push ups until you hit your limit (or in my case until you faceplant), rest for 30 seconds, do wide grip push ups until your limit, rest for 30 seconds, do triangle push ups until your limit, and then rest for 30 seconds. That's one set. Try to aim for 3 sets. If you want more training later when you improve, increase the number of sets.

  • @resdraon
    @resdraon 3 роки тому

    Best way to train for push ups if you can't do push ups is to do push ups.
    Like really, if you arn't missing limbs or 500 pounds you can do a push up. Just keep at it regularly and over time it will increases. there is no magic cat juice that will get you from 2 to 400 in an hour. When I was 16 I just did 10 a day and was confused as hell as to why I couldn't do more. It was simple, I didn't push myself and keep at it.
    Now a days I can do 12~! Only took 15 years!

      Ms. D I workout four to six days a week, but at least four. During basic training I believe the time you train depends on what time of the year you’re there because summer you’ll train early morning while winter would be a little later when it’s warmer during the day. Your free time during basic is usually the end of the day and sundays are pretty chill with quite a bit of free time

    • @kariboo5201
      @kariboo5201 4 роки тому

      For anyone that may need the info in the future, the best way to get better at pushups is to do more pushups lol. If you cant do one, then start with pushup negatives. Try to hold for 3-4 seconds on the way down. Once you can do about 10-15 negatives, start trying to do the real pushups. Start at 1, then the next day do 2, then the next day do 3, and so on and so forth. Make sure you are taking rest days. I've found that doing them all in one set (instead of doing sets of 10 or so) is better for me. Hope this helped at least 1 person lol
