@@yawdesmond9564 No, I would recommend learning a few chords and tunes first before moving on to scales. Or better still, learn one scale and use it to warm up when you practise before playing chords and tunes. When you get bored of your first scale move on to the next. 😊
Without being in a room with you I can't really be sure what the problem is, but sometimes it can be the guitars fault. If your action (string height) is too high then this can make it difficult to hit just one string. Also if the guitar has a very narrow neck for your size of hands, this can cause issues. before even considering these options however, just try to focus on getting the finger on to the tip to see if you can find a solution. 🤔
Practicing this alongside the finger picking course should help with smoother chord changes, many thanks.

6:18 No matter how far I move my thumb down my finger still touches the string below. Please help this is really frustrating.
