Gen 5 isn't that great. Once the string section comes up a couple badge gates in, it's boring. Gen 6 is by far the best Victory Road theme and, as much as I like the Gen 1 to 3 VR themes (as usual 4 is also boring being the second worst games in the series after Black/White themselves), it's really the only one suited to be in a place named "Victory Road".
Gen V has the best themes in the following respects in my opinion: - Best wild Pokémon battle theme - Best evil team battle theme - Best evil team commander (Or in this case N) theme - Best Victory Road theme - Best Elite 4 theme
And the best mascot legendary theme. I love how it goes from intense to whimsical to marching band to ohmygodthishighnotedrumandsaxophonecomboissobeautiful

Especially the evil team grunt theme with Team Skull, but Black and White still have the best victory road theme, the best legendary trio theme, the best elite 4 theme and N's final battle theme is absolutely amazing. Tbh, of all villains, ya boi Guzma is quite the pushover with his gang. Team Plasma and N especially formed probably the biggest threat ever with a legendary on their side.
Reasons why i like Unova the most: - Was the most revolutionized pokemon game based on every progress in pokemon game ( many things where all for first added in Gen 5: seasons, 3D,reusable tm's, pokemon sprites have a animation and many other things..) - Subjective tho, but for me Gen 5 definitly has the best soundtrack: dungeons,battle,scene etc - Gen 5 actually made use of bug pokemons both game/design wise such as: Volcarona, Genesect, Escavalier, Scolipede, Accelgor, Leavanny - has one of the most post game features - You meet the Legend after beating the league making it more prestigious in someway. The game is in some aspect still comparable to even the latest pokemon games like sword/shield note that it came out 11 years ago. . . Pokemon went only upwards during gen 3 - 4 but 5 was the peak, it only went down hill afterwards. They dont make the progress anymore that they were doing with everygame.

This is so nostalgic. Fuck I miss the good old days, good times good times. Every time I hear Black and White songs, I can't help but feel a little sad and shed a tear. Black and Black2 were my first Pokémon games and I’m glad I got to enjoy the 2D sprite era right before it ended. Know what, I'm gonna go and replay both of the games right now!
Literally the best Victory Road theme of any Pokémon by far right here. Nothing before was this impactful and nothing after will come close, either. Truly, the music in this game was the ultimate send-off from the sprite-based Pokémon games. What a way to end the old school Pokémon mainline. Such nostalgia.
Some could say that this was the perfect send-off to the franchise. Both The Pokémon Company and Game Freak stopped having any semblance of talent or passion for this franchise after this generation.

The main tracks that stick with me to this day from X&Y are Route 15, Anistar City, and the legendary battle theme. I remember enjoying the music of X&Y when playing it, but those are the only three tracks that will still pop in my head on occasion. Gen 5 however, I have so many damned songs and remixes from this gen in my playlists lol

Honestly, this might be my second favorite track in the franchise, for me beaten by Temporal Tower from PMD: Explorers of Sky. The buildup as you pass through each section is amazing, and I'd say the payoff is more than worth it.
It's so cool if you get to the last Badge check, and then go into Victory Road right when the sequence rolls over to the whole BGM. I do that every time, ahaha...

if you listen VERY closely, the wind begins to mimic the horns that play during the last two badges, crazy crazy detail that I just noticed, begins right after the 3rd badge
my white team: samurott, scrafty, galvantula, sawsbuck, archeops, chandelure. the most fun pokemon game they've made, in my opinion. the graphics are amazing (while sticking fairly close to the original look, unlike gen 6). And the plot and music are the best in the series. i don't think anything will top gen 5. just finished victory road last week and i had this theme stuck in my head at work two days ago.

This was such an amazing idea, slowly building up the theme with every badge. What I wish for, though, was that the gates were accessible throughout the whole game. That way every time you got a new badge, you could open one more gate, and listen to a little bit more of the theme. Would've made for a better buildup imo, as we could've appreciated each individual gate more
I love the music in Black and White. I decided to take a break from Pokemon, but I have come back and am loving it. The music reminds me of how Red Dead Redemption would do the same thing with it's music - it would just get more epic. This is really getting me excited for Black 2 and White 2.
You tried to awaken the other dragon, the stone refused to respond to you...You're left with no choice now; Even if you're doomed to fail against N, you still have to *TRY* to stop him...you will conquer this long winding road, proving your success from the beginning to the end of the gyms...you will climb this barren cliff and see yourself to the elite 4, things may seem hopeless, but everyone's depending on you...if there's even a slip of hope for defeating N and his dragon, you *MUST EMBRACE THAT MISSION.* I just love how the feeling of the victory road in BW was MUCH different than usual games, you're not coming up here to claim a title and prove the last hurdle means nothing to you and your team...you're coming up here to stop a threat, one that overpowers you greatly...yet you push on like it's nothing, a grand march to the finale.

My final team in White was: - Samurott (Ocean) - Audino (Which I gave no nickname for some reason.) - Throh (Mario) - Braviary (Pilot) - Druddigon (Red) - Alolomola (Hilda) At least, I _think_ this is what my team was. It's been many years and I kept swapping Pokemon in and out of the team so I can't fully remember. What I can remember, though, is that Ocean was traded over to Black 2 at one point where she soon became a movie star because my younger self liked the movie stuff a little too much.

@@aidanmcbono I felt ORAS was a great improvement on rse especially with the music, fluidity of the game, extra Pokémon, megas and dexnav. If anything for gen 5 remakes I’d like to see megas return and a remaster of the music and that’s about it. This was the pinnacle of ds games

I recently played through White. My team was: Samurott Archeops Klinklang Scrafty Whimsicott (You can get a cottonee at an in-game trade in White in exchange for Petilil considering Cottonee is Black exclusive)
I turned the sound on for the first time while playing a few months ago. While walking through the gates. I had the BIGGEST nerdgasm. This. This is how it feels every time you get to the Elite Four for the first time.
This video unfortunately made a mistake with the transition from the 3rd badge gate to the 4th badge gate. They went straight to the 5th badge gate instead and this caused them to do the 6th badge gate loop twice. That's unfortuante.
When I first entered the Badge Check Gates, I was kinda dissapointed. No music. Nut I stepped forward and heard that snare drum. And as I went through it, the end was so satisfying I just sat there in awe.
Everyone really out there hating on Black and White. The anime was shit, but come on, is Ash what did you expected, but the game? The game did that. Not Just good fucking story with good plot (never topping Shinnoh no game can top that) but great ass characters development, good concept, good designs btw lets not talk about this generation having the Best bugtype pokemon finally some justice for them. A really mature story, N being actually one of the Best rivals in all pokemon an ghetshis being Just bad because of bad sakes, no dark past, Just him being a bitch. Gen 1 and 2 had the most simple designs and that is a good thing. Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard areexamples of a great simple design and is still today a fan favorite.

The main tracks that stick with me to this day from X&Y are Route 15, Anistar City, and the legendary battle theme. I remember enjoying the music of X&Y when playing it, but those are the only three tracks that will still pop in my head on occasion. Gen 5 however, I have so many damned songs and remixes from this gen in my playlists lol

I just replayed Pokemon white, and was reminded of this masterful victory road introduction. I'm a music and Pokemon freak. this just hits you on another level. PERFECTION!

Honestly, this might be my second favorite track in the franchise, for me beaten by Temporal Tower from PMD: Explorers of Sky.
The buildup as you pass through each section is amazing, and I'd say the payoff is more than worth it.

my white team: samurott, scrafty, galvantula, sawsbuck, archeops, chandelure. the most fun pokemon game they've made, in my opinion. the graphics are amazing (while sticking fairly close to the original look, unlike gen 6). And the plot and music are the best in the series. i don't think anything will top gen 5. just finished victory road last week and i had this theme stuck in my head at work two days ago.

This was such an amazing idea, slowly building up the theme with every badge. What I wish for, though, was that the gates were accessible throughout the whole game. That way every time you got a new badge, you could open one more gate, and listen to a little bit more of the theme. Would've made for a better buildup imo, as we could've appreciated each individual gate more
As a 9 years old boy i cried with this build up, i knew the game was close to endind and I didn’t wanted that to happen.

I love the music in Black and White. I decided to take a break from Pokemon, but I have come back and am loving it. The music reminds me of how Red Dead Redemption would do the same thing with it's music - it would just get more epic. This is really getting me excited for Black 2 and White 2.
You tried to awaken the other dragon, the stone refused to respond to you...You're left with no choice now; Even if you're doomed to fail against N, you still have to *TRY* to stop him...you will conquer this long winding road, proving your success from the beginning to the end of the gyms...you will climb this barren cliff and see yourself to the elite 4, things may seem hopeless, but everyone's depending on you...if there's even a slip of hope for defeating N and his dragon, you *MUST EMBRACE THAT MISSION.*
I just love how the feeling of the victory road in BW was MUCH different than usual games, you're not coming up here to claim a title and prove the last hurdle means nothing to you and your team...you're coming up here to stop a threat, one that overpowers you greatly...yet you push on like it's nothing, a grand march to the finale.
That's because a lot of stuff from Mother 3 was used in this game. Creatures Inc. was Ape Inc, which designed Mother 3.
Just the way it slowly gets better and better with more and more instruments... Game Freak... you have created the Ultimate master piece. Well done.

It isn't necessary. I feel like the others remakes were made beacause the original games were obsoletes, but that is not the case here. They would make the remakes so much worse like the omega ruby one
@@aidanmcbono I felt ORAS was a great improvement on rse especially with the music, fluidity of the game, extra Pokémon, megas and dexnav. If anything for gen 5 remakes I’d like to see megas return and a remaster of the music and that’s about it. This was the pinnacle of ds games

This Victory road was so epic and impactful in my first ever Pokémon game that when I got to victory road in Platinum I was thoroughly let down.

I turned the sound on for the first time while playing a few months ago. While walking through the gates. I had the BIGGEST nerdgasm. This. This is how it feels every time you get to the Elite Four for the first time.

@SteaIthIess The different parts come in as you go through each gate, it's fucking epic. The when you're in VR it's the full song.
This video unfortunately made a mistake with the transition from the 3rd badge gate to the 4th badge gate. They went straight to the 5th badge gate instead and this caused them to do the 6th badge gate loop twice. That's unfortuante.
When I first entered the Badge Check Gates, I was kinda dissapointed. No music. Nut I stepped forward and heard that snare drum. And as I went through it, the end was so satisfying I just sat there in awe.
Everyone really out there hating on Black and White. The anime was shit, but come on, is Ash what did you expected, but the game? The game did that. Not Just good fucking story with good plot (never topping Shinnoh no game can top that) but great ass characters development, good concept, good designs btw lets not talk about this generation having the Best bugtype pokemon finally some justice for them. A really mature story, N being actually one of the Best rivals in all pokemon an ghetshis being Just bad because of bad sakes, no dark past, Just him being a bitch. This game deserves a lot attention, also, Best sountrack it was so chilling

nah, I prefer the Gen 1 and this one. RSE has good themes, but not better than 4th, 5th, and even 6th gen.

Gen 1 and 2 had the most simple designs and that is a good thing. Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard areexamples of a great simple design and is still today a fan favorite.
