- Star Wars Battlefront 2 introduced some trooper appearance changes with the Battle of Scarif update, allowing you to play as the shoretrooper, snowtrooper, and sandtrooper on all Rebellion Era maps. But these Battlefront 2 skin changes effect the immersive Star Wars experience of playing the game. It's a bit illogical to talk about broken immersion with skins when you have Anakin Skywalker locking blades with Darth Vader on Starkiller Base.

@@thorn6070 honestly i dont know why people care about immersion in multiplayer, you can get immersion in instant action and campaign, multiplayer there's too much customization even without the skins that will make it immersion breaking, 90% of the star cards couldn't be used and everyone would have to use default weapons in order for it be "accurate"
It’s valid when you are playing a game mode that limits the heroes to their respective eras

The way I get around the different trooper skins is to pretend that they are emergency troops rushed to the battle so they haven’t been given the appropriate armour

Even then, some of those units are made for certain planets that are way too far for them to be reinforcements for a planet halfway across the galaxy.
Why is the Coruscant guard on Kashyyykk?
Why are there Green Scout Battalion Troops (seen on Kashyyykk for camouflage) able to be used on Kamino? A planet that’s nearly halfway across the galaxy in the Republic?
No way they’d be “reinforcements from nearby” as you and some others suggest. I see your point, but it can easily be rebuked in so many ways.

Guy had his legs chopped off BEFORE the Clone Wars, and you can see him in game with both legs intact.
Sure the skin with the replacement robot legs is unlockable, but still.
And don't get me started on the fact that he is fighting along side the Separatists and the likes of Dooku and Grievous, he hates all of them if you recall.
These complaints about immersion being broken feels like people trying to find a reason to bitch about a decent game.

Just saying the we’ve had “improper” clone appearances since their update. Why do I have phase 2 clones on geonosis, let alone an improper legion. Or having a geonosis droid on Kamino. This is nothing new.

I feel as if the clone skins (phase 1/2) works well on any map in a way, you could say that the Separatists have launched an assault on Kamino as one of their last ditch efforts so they had to gather as many droids as possible no matter their "camo/paint" job which could almost work as your own mini RP, whereas Snowtroopers on Tatooine just legit dont make sense
What bothers me the most is the fact that you must play with phase 2 and phase 1 if you play multiplayer

(I like supremacy but galactic assault is more immersive also too many bots)Sure multiplayer can be a competitive thing to some players, but an option like this in battlefront would be great.

So having matchups like anakin against vader is ok, But snowtroopers on skariff and shoretroopers on hoth is too far.... makes sense

But those modes are supposed to let you live out you're own worlds and scenarios whereas blast supremacy and coop are supposed to be canon only. I think if they added a canon galactic assault and a non canon supremacy that'd be great as it lets you play in the star wars canon if you want and in Fan-Fictasia if you want.

“Immersion breaking”. STOP. So you’re saying Dooku getting slaughtered by BB-8 on Endor isn’t “immersion breaking”? This game is immersive but it was only ever to a certain degree. If Battlefront II was strictly about canon accuracy and immersing players in a specific moment in Star Wars then there’s so many things that would be in the game that aren’t and wouldn’t be in the game that are. I believe “immersion” is just a word that’s getting thrown around to excuse why certain things are the way they are in the game. The problem is the excuse doesn’t hold weight when you consider certain things elsewhere in the game (i.e. Maul on Scarif, Palpatine on Supremacy Starkiller Base). It’s literally just a word used as an excuse to not put in the work it would take to make the game canon accurate, and personally I’m fine with that.

Shore troopers should be able to play on Hoth and Tatooine as sand is half a shore and snow is frozen water, which is also half a shore. Credit goes to Caleb and Zanny for bringing me this knowledge
It's also immersion breaking that you can see every clone legion fighting in the same game, it's like the Republic said ''Fuck it, let's send every legion to fight the Seperatists in this battle"
Personally, I like to use the Snowtrooper on some maps as it was one of my first lego minifigs and it gives me a sense of nostalgia. Also Episode 5 is one of my favorites. Also I would love to see mod support on Fallen Order similar to how Bethesda did with Fallout 4

I am perfectly fine with Shoretroopers being on any planet. It makes you feel like you are your own Stormtrooper. Almost like you were being deployed as troop reserves were short and you were desperately needed.

Bruh this is actually a feature I've been asking for for a while now, idk why people want immersion 100% of the time. I mean yeah immersion it's cool but a games a game and to this day we never got a republic vs empire or republic vs first order. Yeah immersion is important for some but at it's core this is a game and a game should have those crazy and funny "what if" moments.

Meanwhile I'm playing a Battlefront game without Ahsoka, Ventress, mandalorians, geonosians, spider droids, hailfire droids, or new hunt modes to add variety.
This game is not just roses. There are some serious thorns on this Battlefront II rosebush, and there is a lot of wasted potential. If any other game developer had gotten their hands on Battlefront II with a bit more creativity and skill they could have pulled something much greater off.

Gar Saxon, that lady-mandalorian-that-I-can't-quite-name-but-she's-got-red-hair and Ahsoka could have all been added... also this game needs some more gameplay variety like a medic class, engineer class (also the class system itself is quite busted in my opinion. Officers should be completely removed because they do not belong on any battlefield other than the Death Star, or capital ships)

People need to stop hoping for more content there is nothing else coming the game had a normal multiplayer lifespan
They should absolutely bring back the shadow trooper skin for max rank. It would fit in on all maps since the shadow troopers are spec ops and would go wherever the mission was. Of course, the shadow trooper would have worked much better as an infiltrator but never mind that. I also would have liked a bothan spy over an ewok.
One time I was playing Hoth on battle front. And I saw so many shore troopers. I also started a little gonk droid konga line.

I just want mud troopers and some troopers from Rebels. They look sick and would be good customization with being in universe
It'd be nice to see more options brought for the player to customize their imperial classes. We just finally got a armored Imp officer. It'd be nice to see camouflage options or paint job and themes brought to the classes
Whenever something like this happen I gave my Trooper a back story as to why he was wearing set armor not so immersion breaking if anything it brought me deeper into the universe
I miss the gameplay with your friends, it was always so fun to hear you guys joke around and have fun. Also, I don’t know if you noticed but I think in the newest update they changed the load in mechanic in star fighter assault. When playing it once I selected my star fighter it sent me right into the game, a much needed change to the spawning. It was much too long beforehand.
This video is just silly because I genuinely appreciate having the option to use different skins. Considering that clone troopers may wear phase I and Phase II armor on the same map, the argument that this breaks immersion is just ridiculous. I'm happy with these choices and dont feel obligated to complain about this because it doesnt at all ruin my overall enjoyment of the gameplay.
I'm just glad we have some imperial customization even though it's very clear it's a last ditch effort for it. Immersion has never really been a problem for me since i think there's way worse immersion breakers, like the heroes. Personally I haven't been playing for an immersion feel, but moreso a cinematic feel regardless of who is using what skin or BB-8 singlehandedley taking out Vader, Grievous and an AT-ST all by himself. The game has always been immersion breaking in some way before the addition of the stormtrooper appearances
I remember before launch I was really excited as I hoped the customization wasn’t going to be having random, out of element clone legions, trooper types etc. I imagined:
-Clones/Empire/First Order: would be able to customize the paldron, helmet attachments, backpacks etc specific to each class rather than them being preset for each skin. Essentially you’d start out as a shiny for the respective class if each faction but would progress and be able to add battle damaged and custom uniform/armor attachments as you progress (as well as change gender for Empire/FO)
-The same for all other factions but also include the ability to change gender, customize species, ethnicity, skin tone etc for ALL classes/reinforcements
I thought this would have been a way to add deep customization to the look of you character while still holding the immersion by preventing seeing phase 2 clones on geonosis, snow troopers on scariff, etc.
Or like in battlefield 3 when you level up tanks you get more junk attached to it
Am I the only one that is happy about the Shoretrooper , Snowtrooper , Sandtrooper and Default Stormtrooper change ?
It’s like some Snowtroopers on Hoth that needs help but weirdly enough Shoretroopers came for reinforcements . I still like it
The vehicle command post capturing is also glitchy because you can get in a star fighter and still sometimes get the capturing command post thing on screen
That AA turret is from Crait. They just added it on Hoth
I haven't been playing Battlefront 2 alot because of Jedi Fallen Order but now you've showed me what I'm missing
I don’t care what people think, shore troopers look good in tatooine and I have logic to back it up. A beach is half sand half water. Tatooine is all sand. So in conclusion, shore troopers work on tatooine because *tatooine is half a beach*
It would be so cool if different pauldrons would be unlocked at certain high levels to show other players you're a high level player while also adding that bit of customization to the game
