Will the one guy in the movie said it's in everything they make. Basically, implying. They have been putting stuff in the food for the past twenty six years.
@@veganrican606idk ig because they possess the medication? the kids were engineered using the dna of mutants by the same company poisoning the food. so id imagine they'd do smth to make them immune and add some other weakness, idk.
I feel like it’s just now dawned on me that Wolverine must have some degree of super strength since he’s carrying all that metal around all the time and saying that aloud makes me feel so stupid haha
@@danielhaigler556I think that might be a better explanation, unless it's official that he does have super strength. I like when superpowers are rooted in science, like Superman/gravity stuffs
Well he would be strong from constantly moving that skeleton and his body would constantly be healing his muscles so he could work out constantly and bulk up like crazy
its a literal plot point in the comic that the adamantium in his body was poisoning him but his healing factor was responsible for keeping it at bay. so in a movie where there was a drug to essentially neutralize mutants, his healing factors effectiveness was being reduced over time and the adamantium poisoning was starting to effect him.
Yeah it's more of a half and half. Or 1/3 3x with natural wear on his abilities, the adamantium, and the corn stuff. If it was 1 or even 2 of those he would live way longer but all 3 just made it happen so fast.
The problem I have with addamantium poisoning is that it doesn't make sense. In the past, people with artificial joints suffered from poisoning over time because materials such as cobalt rubbed off. Titanium, on the other hand, is not toxic in itself and is very well tolerated by the body. Gold would be even better because it is basically chemically invulnerable. It would just wear off quickly because it is too soft. Addamantium is something that doesn't exist and is said to be virtually indestructible in the comics. So no abrasion caused by movement, no corrosion caused by chemical processes. Once installed it would not change. So how are pieces of it supposed to be deposited in the blood, leading to inflammatory reactions or organ failure? Not at all. And that's why addamantium poisoning is nonsense. It's also good that Magneto can influence it so easily, but that's another topic.
@Dranzerofhell I actually never assumed it was deposited into his blood and more of his healing factor was damaged by the skeleton being cased in and stuck in place. In the comics this is the case where after he loses the adamantium skeleton he gets even stronger healing and slowly evolves and gets taller. The skeleton is one of the reasons he's so short in the comics. But like you said it's a made up metal and the movie and comics are separate and they have different rules so we can only actually guess.
@@Dranzerofhellyou said it yourself, "virtually". The hulk has broken adamantium, in fact he's torn wolverine in half. The nature of wolverine's power puts him in harms way. His strategy is to endure the attacks of superhumans. It seems perfectly plausible that a few molecules here and there end up in his bloodstream.
That would TOTALLY suck for me. Sure, I'm a 'Pool, but I have long hair, and a long beard. I WILL NOT BE SHAVED BALD! Unless you're gunna shave my hockey pucks, and give me a happy ending 😚 Edit: aaaaaaand I just remembered I was talking about children... 😵💫 New rule: you have to be 21+ to shave a 'Pool. Problem solved 😂
It's actually really cool because it doesn't make much sense at first and you may never have a full understanding based on just these videos but you will start making associations that stick in your memory.
Film theorists just did a video on this, his healing factor is failing for the same reason no new mutants are being born, the super corn that they use for corn syrup is in everything.... including the corn whiskey Logan is constantly drinking... drop the habit and get his healing factor back.
Totally agree that corn syrup is weakening or making the x gene useless or disconnecting it from the bodies genetics. If he stopped taking any products with that stuff in it for a while he should be in tip top shape again in a year or two
Actually in the comics they explained that Wolverine's healing abilities are working around the clock 24/7 after having the metal grafted onto his skeleton. His body is having to constantly fight off the metal poisoning it causes. Which is why his daughter/clone wasn't given the full skeletal treatment just her claws were covered so that she was able to heal faster. She's more easily injured but she heals faster than Wolverine by a long shot. So it's a mix of both his age and healing abilities have been pushed to limit while also being slowly poisoned to death by his own skeleton.
Yes. It is also revealed towards the end of the movie that Dr. Zander Rice invented the suppressant and came up with the idea of putting it in all the food.
Them putting it in corn as well (and him chugging whiskey, made from corn) would explain that it’s like a McDonald’s in his body, way overworked, way understaffed
But the worst wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine is 200years old, and his healing is still intact. So it must be because of the suppressant in the food.
if I remember correctly, the reason he started aging etc in that movie's universe is due to there being a chemical added to all corn products that suppresses mutants' abilities - and corn is in just about all processed food, as well as in the alcohol he drinks. at least that's what's going on in that movie's canon. also why no new mutants have been born for a long time
Yeah, the big bad literally gave a speech about it - why there are no other mutants at all because of it. Logan's healing factor saved him from most of it, but just like how any substance will build up in your over time, it was slowly tearing away his healing factor
Back when I was in college, one of my biology professors described telomeres thusly: "if chromosomes were shoelaces, then telomeres would be the plastic bits at the tips that keep them from unraveling." Also, as someone who used to work as a valet, Chryslers really are the absolute worst.

In the comics it’s stated that Adamantium is extremely toxic, it’s so toxic that that the Adamantium is so toxic that Wolverine’s healing factor has to constantly heal him from the effects of Adamantium poisoning, so most likely it’s a mixture of Wolverine losing the gene for his healing factor and him losing his healing factor causing his Adamantium skeleton starting to cause the effect of Adamantium poisoning For Logan considering he’s over 200 years old he’s aging very well
@@RoanokeGaming . Anti-mutant or mutant-cure is a thing and is present in some everyday foods, mainly corn syrup... which also happens to be one of the main sugar substitutes in beer, the drink wolverine drowns himself in. It's the slow degradation of his powers due to the mutant-cure in corn syrup that explains his weakened healing factor and why he's aging all of a sudden after living for so long. It makes even more since Essex, the company mentioned in the movie and in the comics, is owned by Mr. Sinister. Also probably the reason why no mutants have been born in the last 25 years.
@@RoanokeGamingI think you’re right about why it’s starting to happen but I also don’t think it’s the only reason although the Adamantium is likely a minor reason
Somebody commented on another video that his personal head cannon was that he was poisoned in The Wolverine (2013) by The Viper. That poison, coming from a mutant, did something to him that stayed in his system and contributed to his slow demise. It's just an idea but I like it.
@@Astrovite you know that he removed it at the end of the movie and his healing came back , the corn is the most reasonable explanation why Logan started to die
I love how there’s so many comments saying “it’s probably the corn”, and then 20:00 says the exact same thing. Just goes to show how many ppl commented before watching the whole thing. 😅
At least there's a few pointing out the whiskey he drinks is made from corn, so it might have that chemical added in too. So they're not all brain dead lol
The thing is that he aged disproportionately fast on the last few years, like in 2000 he was 150 years old and still looked like a 30 years old man, in 2013 the actor is obviously older but Wolverine is still jacked and has perfect healing factor, but then in less than 20 years he looked like he was on his late 50s, which is normal aging, but not for him. So I guess he was just aging normally, not faster.
well he doesn't go past his prime due to his healing factor, but his healing factor being surpressed in a way possibly doesn't let it work to its fullest extent and causes his DNA to repair his cells with damaged DNA and since this process actually has a limit on normal humans it would cause you to age exponetionally fast if you were to be constantly getting life threatenting injuries and just healing it off in a day.
Personally, i think it was a combination of the food, and his adamatium. As mentioned in other comments, the adamantium bonded to his skeleton, is meant to be incredibly toxic. It was one of the reasons he was chosen for the weapon x program, as his healing factor was able to compensate for the adamatium toxcicity, but it took a good portion of it to do so. In a couple of the comic off shoots, in one where he never got the adamatium, his healing factor actually caused more extreme mutations, and logan became more of a feral beast. In another where Logan is subjected to a similar effect as the control collar used in deadpool 2, the adamatium is killing him in a way similar to extreme radiation posioning. So, I think the x gene suppresant in the food, is lowering Logan's healing factor considerably, which is causing it to struggle to keep up with the adamatium toxicity. In turn, this is also causing his wounds to not heal as fast, andnas a result, his 197 years are also catching up with him TL:DR, i think its actually both combined.
It depends on the version of adamantium he has, as True Adamantium is said to be "virtually indistructible" which in turn would make it not poisonous. The poisoning from metals comes from small particles shaving of with time and building up in the body, but if the adamantium was perfect that wouldnt happen. One or mor comics said they used a beta variation of adamantium which caused the poisoning.
For some reason I think they used lead or similar heavy metals in a tiny portion to make the adamantium workable (lower melting temp and more malleable). Just a 1-2% by weight would be my guess for the adamantium beta.
also the comic where Magneto takes the adamantium out of his body, and his healing factor is cranked to the max, immediately healing him in the process but turning him very feral
@@Aganie. that and he get a new coat of adamantium that had holes in the femur bone where red blood cells come from, the old adamantium was completely covering the bone so no new red blood cells can be produce thus making him age
I think it's the mix of the poisoned food and chemicals along with the adamantium. Because if I'm not mistaken, the reason they didn't do this with Laura was due to the fact that it would poison her.
Hos healing factor keeps him young, with it fading due to the gene manipulation in the food it doesn't have to be the effects of poisoning, could simply be getting old
I love how later on that basically the reason why mutants wasnt occuring as frequently was due to the food and water across the country having a mutant suppressing additive
Both. He was suffering from adamantium posing, but his healing factor was keeping it at bay. But, when the food started messing with his healing factor, the adamantium posing started to take full affect.
As Logan (in the comics) was injected with Pure Adamantium, it does not react with his body in a normal fashion and *does not poison him* but it does retard his natural mutation that would see him ending up a smaller version of Sabertooth. We know this is exactly what happened as in the Fatal Attractions arc (also recently portrayed in X-Men '97), after Magneto ripped the Adamantium through his pores, he began to mutate rapidly. The Adamantium had been retarding his natural mutation since the Weapon X program. However, it also allowed him to center himself with the X-Men's help. He later fought an Adamantium laced Sabertooth for the Horseman of Death role so that Apocalypse would rebond the metal coating back onto all of his bones. Even at 5'3" and 300+ lbs with a very dense mass, you do not want to get lunged at by him, even before the claws get popped. His superhuman strength, speed, and stamina plus his drama tically boosted senses just add to his lethality.
@@LordofSyn If you pay attention to the movie, logans claws lost there normal polish to them. Which could indicate that it was eroded away, my guess would be into his blood stream. Comic Logan, wasn't being poisoned by the adamantium. Movie logan, in my opinion yes. His adamantuim was poisonings him. If only partly.
@@JirouLierge I don't own the movie, regrettably but I wonder if any of the commentary tracks in the Blu-Ray give any credence beyond what the movie portrays. Great discussion.
I can understand why Logan would believe this but I don’t understand how anyone watching the movie would. It’s explained that mutant abilities are being artificially suppressed. Logan is also nearly 200 by the events of the movie take place.
I mean in comics the Adamantium is kinda poisonous but never to the point of being deadly it just kinda revealed to have dulled his healing, hence the trauma of when Magneto ripped it out Logan underwent a strange second mutation that was basically his healing going back to its full potential cause remember the metal was added onto the bones and claws that were already there around the beginning of his adult life
I think most people didn't catch the gene suppressant being explained. I actually didn't realize there was a gene suppressant until I watched a different video a few weeks ago.
Biologically he was a middle aged man thanks to his healing factor, but like he explained, genetic damage accumulated all the same, and with X gene suppressed that couldn't continue He was a middle aged man with genetic damage of a 200 years old gramps, so he aged fast
Couple of points : comics does states that adamntium is toxic, but I like your theory. In Death of the Wolverine, Logan loses his healing factor and Mr Fantastic explains that it helped him carry his super heavy skeleton around. Must've been agony lifting an arm at that age with no healing factor. Finaly, in 1 comic, Magneto forcibly removes the adamantium, causing Wolvy to evolve further. The adamantium is actualy keeping his evolution in check and greatly reduces his healing factor, since it constantly fights the poisoning and damages caused by it's own weight. While the adamantium gave him a power boost, I'd argue he might've been better without it with time. Also, the bullet makes no sense to me. He gets domed every now and then and the brain grows back anyway, so having a bullet that can circumvent the skull changes nothing. Plus we know he can survive the poisoning.
Would you like to know why the idea of Adamantium poisoning is stupid and was written by bad writers? Multiple humans with no healing factor whatsoever, have Adamantium implants. If Adamantium poisoning was something that always existed, then how are normal humans able to have implants without dying quickly?
@@ronsexton3891 Came to mention Forge myself. and as a former comic nerd, @dainebe3416, I jumped to your post because of that exact mention when Magento ripped it out. Have a +1 to you both on any roll today.
What that bullet does, tho, is erasing any training/brainwashing, so he's now just normal person (with metal skeleton and all that stuff), so not really problem, at least for now.
Its been said multiple times before in the comments that, adamantium in the comics is toxic to the human body. When M Day occurred, Logan lost his healing and was dying from the adamantium poisoning. But I love your explanation that the mutant suppression gene manipulation is what's causing all of the issues and such. Definitely awesome explanation. I really enjoy your videos.
27:41 That is the dual fuel tank model of the Bronco. You can see the two fuel caps in the scene when they come out of the doctor office. It also looks to me like it is the 1974 Bronco that came standard with the 200 inline 6cyl with 120HP. Main tank capacity was 12-13 gallons and the auxiliary tank held 8 with a MPG of about 13.10 to 13.45.
I think it's great that you'r expanding the type of films you cover, especially this one. Fun fact: in 2017, I got to attend a special premiere for this film, as well as given the opportunity to meet Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook (he's a hugger lol), and directer James Mangold who, after seeing people try to push past me during the meet and greet, made sure to have me brought to the front to hang out with him. Logan - best Fox X-Men film!
Older comic reader here, and when Magneto ripped the adamantium out of Wolverine, his healing factor became much more effective. So I'd theorise that the healing factor is having to deal with the adamantium, but the dulling of it by the modified corn is putting a ton more strain on it.
isn't that where wolverine also became feral as well? the corn syrup suppressed the x gene and prevented it from being passed on so this is definitely the reason. we also see Deadpool's healing factor to be more potent due to the lack of adamantium.
I remember when the wolverine comic came out after magneto yoinked Logan's metal out the first few issues his body was so overwhelmed he would have to sleep for days to heal. And when his bone claws got snapped 10 year old me whinced in pain.
One theory about the border is that the group Alpha Flight was waiting there for them and the mercenaries would have had to contend with them, hence the doctor stressing that the kids had to be retrieved before reaching the border.
Yes, because no mutants being born was a US only problem in the film. The rest of the world still has mutant children being born, and were actively running a mutant road network to evacuate mutants from the US.
In the comics adamantium, despite not rusting or anything, still causes metal poisoning. Logan's healing factor is constantly keeping this toxicity at bay. There was a brief period in the comics where his healing factor was shut down and he was at higher risk of metal poisoning, necessitating the use of drugs. His super healing also alchemically changed it into adamantium beta, which allows his bones to perform their regular internal function such as blood cell production. The film specifies that corn based foods (i.e damn near everything) are laced with a mutant suppressant. Old man Logan, the version of the character that this film is loosely based off of, did eventually die of old age, but his adamantium didn't seem to cause too many issues. Lastly, movie adamantium is more closely based off the ultimate comics, in which adamantium is not unbreakable, but simply has an insanely high durability. Whereas classic adamantium is truly unbreakable.
If you watch the movie closely, it gives you the answer. Adamantium is a havey metal like lead and is poisonous like lead. However wolverines healing factor keeps the poisoning at bay. Sometime in this movies history a bioweapon was released into the corn syrup, and some water supplies. This bioweapon killed some Mutants and the ones to stubborn to die, had their powers suppressed. With wolverines powers weakened, the Adamantium started poisoning his body. Also Roanoke, you should do ghouls from Fallout
Adamantium poisoning doesn't make sense brother if the metal is indestructible it doesn't break or corrode its just a studio decision to kill of the character, in the comics this isn't a thing they try to kill him by encasing him in adamantium and he broke out
@Hlebka so it's not exactly like lead poisoning. I always understood it like this. Adamantium is toxic. Only those with high healing factors can have it in their body due to their body holding back the toxicity. With the gmo corn weakening his healing factor and causing him to age, the toxic metal is 'poisoning' him. So to me, their explanation makes sense. I also believe the video was about the movie and its world, not the comics. These are different universes and thus obey by different rules. Just like how there are different rules in each comic book universe
@@hathynhighley8548 Numerous Marvel characters have adamantium implants, including several base humans. The comics have mentioned that the Adamantium used on Wolverine was medically inert, but there are several radioactive isotopes of that substance.

I haven't finished the video but wasn't it stated that corn syrup, or something along those lines, was the cure to the mutant gene and all the alcohol that logan was consuming had corn syrup in it and because of that it was curing his healing factor which in turn was no longer stopping the metal poisoning from spreading

In one Wolverine comic, it's stated that his healing factor was actually enhanced by the Adamantium, reduced when he later had the metal removed. The corn poisoning makes a lot more sense that way, as it would be the timely factor which lined up with his sudden aging. The one element of the movie they clearly didn't think through, though is bonding metal to a little girl's skeleton. I can't even imagine the issues she'd have as her body tried to grow up, with invulnerable metal binding her whole body from the inside.
For a view, you have to watch, at least, 5 seconds. So if people like, before they watch 5 seconds, maybe even while getting adds, you have more likes than views 🤷♂️
This makes sense. I like to press like on videos when the video starts, that is one of the ways I support content creators when I like their content. So in some cases if other people do this, then having more likes before they finish watching is realistic.
I love that this is your deduction! I have thought this since originally watching Logan. The mutant suppressant in the corn syrup always made sense to me.
I think your explanation makes more sense and is a lot scarier. I am still waiting for Logan to do a jump scare with his hand and claws breaking out of the ground.
There had to have been a another factor to why he was losing his healing factor in the first place, cause if his healing factor had always handled the metal poisoning just fine to the point where he had no issues since he got it literally for *decades*, why did his healing start to fail in protecting him now? I'm not sure if they ever even explained it
It’s not outright stated, but it’s implied that something was done to the food supply to suppress the X-gene for mutants. Richard E Grant’s character talked about figuring out a way to control mutant births
Essex corp, owned by Nathaniel Essex, aka Mr. Sinister - a human geneticist - put in mutant cure in corn syrup. This corn syrup, main sugar substitute in beer, which happens to be wolverine's sole diet is the main reason why his healing started to degrade. It's mentioned and showed a lot but never really explicitly stated that it caused Logan's power degradation, but it's the main reason why no new mutants were born in the last 25 years.
My interpretation was always that his healing factor naturally lost potency as he aged. That the metal was toxic, but his powers kept it in check. But now that it isn't working as well, the metal is poisoning him faster than his body can fight it off.
Logan does mentioned to Dr. Ryze that Dr. Ryze’s dad put that poison on him and he raised up his metal claws saying the adamantium gave him the the poison. But good video!
Cloning wouldn't have the same issue, as for cloning, you use omni/pulripotent stem cells, which haven't yet undergone division. Provided you had the a stem cell line, you can theoretically clone something indefinitely.
They had an episode about this in Star Trek: The Next Generation. If I'm remembering correctly, it was a season 2 episode, because it featured Pulaski as the ship's doctor. It basically was about 2 sets of colonists who had each made a separate colony on a distant planet. One was a small group that had to resort to cloning to survive, because their original gene pool was not big or diverse enough to survive through regular procreation. After a few generations of cloning their originals this way, they ran into an issue where each new generation of clones was exhibiting more flaws (the show had a name for it, but I forget what it was) passed down from previous generations, which would mean that eventually, their clones would fail and die off unless they introduced new material to their gene pool. They initially hope to take some from the crew of the Enterprise, but in the end they settle of co-existence with the second group of colonists. I'm sure it's all pseudo science, but still, it just goes to show that they were already doing interesting TV/movie stories about the dangers of cloning, regardless of how 'realistic' these things would or could be in the future.
the problem is when you take the DNA sample used to clone the person is exactly how old the child being born would be. Say you take the DNA of a 70 year old person, that baby would still have gray hair, dementia, and all the same DNA related problems as the original subject. cloning uses the DNA at the time the sample is taken, not just reverting back to how hte DNA was when the original subject was born.
@@kiritotheabridgedgod4178 the problem like I said with my other comment is you dont get new undamaged DNA from stem cells. You would clone the person at the age of the original subject whe nteh sample was taken. You would clone a 40 year old and get a baby who has all the same DNA as a 40 year old and would age faster genetically.
I've been waiting for this video for so long because adamantium poisoning makes no sense since metals like titanium don't cause the human body to react to them, which is why a lot of the time titanium is used for medical stuff in the body.

The Genetically modified food makes WAY more sense for why logan was dieing , and why the X-gene was on the fritz. its such a clean explanation, Wraps it all up in a little bow.
The strength of Logans regenerative properties revolved 100% around the type of story that is being told. Logan has regenerated from a single cell, while in other times becoming a zombie, or losing his hand completely. Sometimes a rapid recovery can make for an amazing set piece, while other times you need your hero to have some vulnerabilities.
Woo achievement unlocked! This was the first Roanoke video where I knew the answer to the topic prior to watching. After years of watching I measurably know more about biology and anglerfish!
The whole "Adamantium poisoning" aspect was stupid. Wolverine was eaten by Hulk and regenerated. He was blown up by an atomic bomb and healed. His skeleton killing him was such a STUPID avenue to take. His healing factor would over power that.
idk if you know but in the movie's timeline. Anti-mutant or mutant-cure is a thing and is present in some everyday foods, mainly corn syrup... which also happens to be one of the main sugar substitutes in beer, the drink wolverine drowns himself in. You're right in normal cases since his healing factor would overpower it but the slow degradation of his powers due to the mutant-cure is the main reason why. I've been pointing out that, according to the film, the food is killing Wolverine, not adamantium. It is explicitly stated that the food was developed to suppress or destroy mutanism in the wild. This is the first time, I've heard someone else point this out. I'm guessing the comics it was adamantium poisoning; hence, why people latch on to Logan's incorrect assumption of what is killing him. But it goes further. Likely, the food is what is causing Prof. X's brain to deteriorate. This, with other clues and comments, subtly implies that in one of Prof. X's first "episodes", he accidently killed most surviving mutants.
Thank you for making this, I had an extremely hard time watching the professor X scenes as after all I could focus on was how it reminded me of my father unfortunate health decline. Gave me scientific facts and theories I can focus on and think about to enjoy the rest of the movie and process how those scenes affected my mentals. This is now one of my favorite marvel movies released and I have you to thank for that.
I think you're spot on with your analysis here. I've been saying since the movie first released that the only person who said anything about Adamantium killing Logan, was Logan himself. And that was only an assumption he made. I don't believe he ever truly learned about the mutant-suppression that was prevalent in the corn syrup, so he still assumed that the Adamantium was what was causing his healing to be diminished. But other than Logan's assumption, there's nothing else in the film that points to the Adamantium in Logan's body being what's killing him. Calaban tell's Logan he's "sick", which can be interpreted as being poisoned by Adamantium, but no other character in the film makes this same assumption. So I've long thought that it was, instead, the genetically modified corn syrup that caused Logan's healing factor to be diminished. Given how old Logan was at the time, and how resilient his immune system was, it likely took a while for the effects of this corn syrup to be in full swing, but I imagine something like his and Charles' last decade or so would have been the period of the most decline. Laura and the other younger mutants seemed unaffected, likely because they were fed things at the compound that were perhaps absent of this genetically modified syrup, and so had little exposure to it thus far in their lives.
As for the "why mutants existing is a bad thing" question... The TLDR is we're human and that's just what we do. If we'll hate someone for having darker skin, following a different god, or holding hands with someone of the same sex, of course we'll hate someone for having bone claws or laser eyes.

Naw, he does. It seems silly but he really does have a degree of superhuman strength.
Have you seen him jump lmao

Totally agree that corn syrup is weakening or making the x gene useless or disconnecting it from the bodies genetics. If he stopped taking any products with that stuff in it for a while he should be in tip top shape again in a year or two

@@shadowinversioncause it's a thing that's been known since the movie came out. It's not a new theory...

Not by a long shot sir
Them putting it in corn as well (and him chugging whiskey, made from corn) would explain that it’s like a McDonald’s in his body, way overworked, way understaffed
But the worst wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine is 200years old, and his healing is still intact. So it must be because of the suppressant in the food.
Which comic was that? Because I own the original 1 through 60 or so and I don't remember that at all.
Roanoke: 'Honsetly, just let the dude rest.'
Deadpool: 'No, lol."
if I remember correctly, the reason he started aging etc in that movie's universe is due to there being a chemical added to all corn products that suppresses mutants' abilities - and corn is in just about all processed food, as well as in the alcohol he drinks. at least that's what's going on in that movie's canon. also why no new mutants have been born for a long time
That's what I remembered hearing too. Adamantium poisoning wouldn't cause new mutants to no longer being born.
Yeah, the big bad literally gave a speech about it - why there are no other mutants at all because of it. Logan's healing factor saved him from most of it, but just like how any substance will build up in your over time, it was slowly tearing away his healing factor

In the comics it’s stated that Adamantium is extremely toxic, it’s so toxic that that the Adamantium is so toxic that Wolverine’s healing factor has to constantly heal him from the effects of Adamantium poisoning, so most likely it’s a mixture of Wolverine losing the gene for his healing factor and him losing his healing factor causing his Adamantium skeleton starting to cause the effect of Adamantium poisoning
For Logan considering he’s over 200 years old he’s aging very well
I believe its possible, but I dont believe thats why his healing factor was suddenly no longer working

"Aging faster than what is considered normal" he said about the about 200 year old human

@@michaeldougherty2807nope. Origins started in 1845.
What
Personally, i think it was a combination of the food, and his adamatium.
In turn, this is also causing his wounds to not heal as fast, andnas a result, his 197 years are also catching up with him
TL:DR, i think its actually both combined.
you are right on the money

I mean in comics the Adamantium is kinda poisonous but never to the point of being deadly it just kinda revealed to have dulled his healing, hence the trauma of when Magneto ripped it out Logan underwent a strange second mutation that was basically his healing going back to its full potential cause remember the metal was added onto the bones and claws that were already there around the beginning of his adult life
@@kennethsatria6607That may be true in the comments but this is about the movie Logan specifically.
I think most people didn't catch the gene suppressant being explained. I actually didn't realize there was a gene suppressant until I watched a different video a few weeks ago.
Biologically he was a middle aged man thanks to his healing factor, but like he explained, genetic damage accumulated all the same, and with X gene suppressed that couldn't continue
He was a middle aged man with genetic damage of a 200 years old gramps, so he aged fast
Yea idk why everyone just goes with the adamantium poisoning thing
He's probably always had that but healing factor stops it
Couple of points : comics does states that adamntium is toxic, but I like your theory.
He also survived multiple nuclear bombs in the comics and in the movies

@@tariusvadoom6489 Yeah, I thought it was a decent idea for a dead universe or whatever. Which means all these movies are set in side universes and not the central or "real" universe.
Still, the movie Logan is a decent fanfic haha.
@@lenne_h All good mate, I don't think he was being sassy.
@@8darktraveler8 It's canon to the current X-Men universe, confirmed in the new deadpool film (granted this is assuming the deadpool movies even take place in the same universe as the mainline X-Men films). But frankly Fox's X-Men universe is extremely messy that it would've be easier to say Logan was in it's own universe.
Telemere sounds like a dude from Lord of the Rings

Ain't no way that bro just quoted the Mechanicus trailer. That's awesome.
I love the cars' ramblings 😂
I would the overall experience of this has been pretty depressing, can’t wait for the next video
If I’m remember correctly, X 23 a.k.a. Laura Kenny had adamantium bonded to her claws, but not her skeleton
X23 does not have it on her skeleton just her claws only
She has metal claws, NOT skeleton
15 likes in 3 views!? Roanoke is a legend.
What
For a view, you have to watch, at least, 5 seconds.
"First thing first, I'm the realist!"
So corny! I love it.
Was not expecting the admech/iron hands intro but im here for it
There had to have been a another factor to why he was losing his healing factor in the first place, cause if his healing factor had always handled the metal poisoning just fine to the point where he had no issues since he got it literally for *decades*, why did his healing start to fail in protecting him now? I'm not sure if they ever even explained it
They can't it'd break plot of just accept what we say consume don't ask questions.
@@shadowarez1337 just accepting something and never asking questions on it is a problem sir
@@Dre-yd2xh film theory explains it
It’s not outright stated, but it’s implied that something was done to the food supply to suppress the X-gene for mutants.
It’s been awhile since I watched ya, good to be back!
" maybe he was just bored " bruh im dying
This kinda answered a 3 years argument with my friend on how long you could clone a person until the cloning became unstable
That actually sounds like an interesting debate I can’t even lie 🧐
I love it when you drop Warhammer references
I've been waiting for this video for so long because adamantium poisoning makes no sense since metals like titanium don't cause the human body to react to them, which is why a lot of the time titanium is used for medical stuff in the body.
An episode like this about Homelander, either Black Noir or compound V in general would be fun
Honestly, I loved this movie. It was sad, but at the same time, it didn't feel disrespectful that some movies that try this end up. The whole movie feels works because it feels like they had great respect for the chracter. compared that to the newest indian jones, Bleh.
Past that, I actually Agree with you Roanoke! The Genetically modified food makes WAY more sense for why logan was dieing , and why the X-gene was on the fritz. its such a clean explanation, Wraps it all up in a little bow.
Truly an amazing video
You can tell already?
Could you look at Primeval Future Predator’s
Watch film theory it explains it they made a supresor for the mutant gene and put it in corn and logan is drinking whisky wich is made from corn
idk if you know but in the movie's timeline. It makes even more since Essex, the company mentioned in the movie and in comics, is owned by Mr. Sinister. Also probably the reason why no mutants have been born in the last 25 years.
@@giulianogonklubek5902 I've seen the movie. it's still a stupid concept imo. (edit) I feel like they could have done this better, come up with something better than "tainted corn". And I know that Hugh Jackman wanted to be done with Wolverine too.
@@phalanx2117 have you read the comics
@@phalanx2117it’s not even stupid and it makes sense. Humanity always tried to get rid of mutants by physical means either with the raids on the mansions, power blockers, or the sentinels. So preventing the powers and the birth of mutants through a food production that is used by everything that is processed is pretty smart
Logan is the most relatable superhero, he just want to be left at peace with his alcoholism and joint pain.
Deadpool uses his corpse to kill TVA agents. Lol.
i actually really like this idea, i was also wondering how it was that not only logans mutant abilities were crippled but seemingly everyone else except the younger kids. this gives a nice answer to make me stop questioning it.
I thought he lost some of his healing factor in “the Wolverine”
the movies: literally state that it IS adamantium poisoning.
Roanoke: nuh uh
So why aren't all the other Wolverines in Deadpool and Wolverine suffering like the one in Logan?

wtf is the point of doing a whole movie recap and stretching the video to 40 mins instead of just answering the question?
His adamantium claws were cut, how did they regrow? Instead of nail claws like before his operation.
At the end of The Wolverine movie he meets Professor X and Magneto so he could had it Adamantium put back on his bone claws between movies
His claws are bones, not nails.
Different timeline I believe. Since days of future past basically split the Fox timeline. So I think the wolverine movie is somewhat irrelevant
Your analysis is CLEARLY correct and that's why you haven't been demonetized.
I would push for a marvel sponsorship honestly... Your channel has some superb movie breakdowns and nothing against TOS. So you have a solid shot.
"Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you."

Can you do poppy playtime explained pls
Logan died from OMS. It's tragic. Papa Roanoke has it
I think you're spot on with your analysis here.
I hate that I love Charles Xavier using the word fuck so freely 😂
Ooo this I wasn't expecting! Outstanding movie.
Next one should be Captain Deadpool. No, just Deadpool.
As for the "why mutants existing is a bad thing" question... The TLDR is we're human and that's just what we do. If we'll hate someone for having darker skin, following a different god, or holding hands with someone of the same sex, of course we'll hate someone for having bone claws or laser eyes.
I couldn't imagine this video would so interesting! Great job!
