Those brands acquired by SRAM were ‘second-tier’ brands. Gripshift was originally intended for children / commuting / non-serious cyclist. I went for SRAM because of the ‘cool’ factor but got back to Shimano ever since. Been there, done that
on my hardtail i have shimano components, on my fully which i purchased later i have sram components: the drivetrain is XX1 and i defintely had to get use to the gripshift but quite love it now, there is no faster way of shifting
1. It's "clipless* pedal" not "clickless pedal" 2. the clipless pedal was invented by Look in 1982 and introduced in 1984. Shimano licensed the Look system and when the license ran out, developed the SPD-SL system from it, introduced in 2003. It uses the same three-bolt sole pattern for to attach the cleats to the shoe. Shimano did invent the SPD system for MTBs though, featuring a double-sided mechanism and a recessed cleat that makes walking easier.
I run campy only on road bikes (cycling). For mountain biking I run a mixed of shimano and sram (don’t make mistake mountain biking is not the same s cycling!).
I don’t have a preference although my bikes have SRAM due to the brilliant battery design. Both Shimano and SRAM make excellent components, so I don’t really get the whole ‘X’ is better than ‘Y’ argument, it’s all rather pointless in my opinion.
No comparison. Shimano or trash. Yes, Campagnolo was great in the 70's. Shimano STI changed the world. I am sure it is off patent, but sram decided to make the failed Double tap vs copying the best. Sram is years behind in the gravel game now as well.

My 8 year mechanical Ultegra has been flawless. I am considering Ultegra di2 for my next bike.
Shimano! Nuff said!
For me, the history is enough to pick Shimano.
Wasn't the first Lipless Pedal made by Look and not Shimano?
Clipless* pedal. Other than that, you're correct.
maybe in West, but here shimano are widely use mtb, road, gravel
here when u buy an nx you can have slx or xt
Shimano is the best!
That said, SRAM is very good too but it’s more expensive than Shimano in the higher end
Sram Mullet on Gravel. I love my rival even without mullet
Useful video but the music is much louder than the voice :(

as much as i want to try Sram its not even available here in Asia.😅i its easier to find a f lood of unbranded groupset here than Sram
This video is the end of Campagnolo.
lol 😂

Shimano for MTB, Campagnolo for road!
I have 4 bikes. 3 Shimano and 1 Sram. Sram is ok but I probably won’t buy it again. Shimano is sensational.
XT is best bang for your buck.
Most definitely, as a owner of XTR I can say unless you’re a professional is 100% worthless, you can’t go wrong with the XT

Campagnolo best mechanics. Compared to Cars: Bentley or Rolls Royce
Shimano is 10 years behind
They now working on AI integration into its shifters. 10 years ahead.
But their stuff is working...
Nothing beats it.
sram is load of shit for noob .all they want is electric bla bla bla and lot of marketing bs for thing that not need
No, Shimano is like Apple for bicycles 😂
Shimano. End of.
❤
10 years ago...shimano. As of today, sram wins
Shimano
Sram
Who needs sram

Sram forever
