I hope the dawn of freedom will be revealed soon. The people of Myanmar are the most hospitable, humble, and kindest people you may encounter, and they deserve to live in dignity and peace!
@@mtha7796 First of all that was done by the military and those Rohingyas also fought with native Arakans. They supported Islamic rebels who were trying to break away from not just the union of Burma but also from the Arakan state. Even tho some of them were from the colonial period most came from Bangladesh in the Pakistan-Bangladesh war and refused to leave. Their population also boomed and mostly lived on government funds.I don't believe the genocide is the solution but don't let them fool you as they are the victim . And Myanmar is a multi-ethnical country which has lots of internal conflicts so spreading misinformation is not acceptable.
@@heinphone3535 Rohingyas are not active rebels compared to other groups and that's not the reason you won't give citizenship to them. Very little incidents done by Rohingyas and took place after the genocide event during Suu Kyi rule. Because that's where they started gaining support from other Islamic connection.
Uugghh... As Burmese myself, these kinds of videos always make me uncomfortable. Look, $100 is a lot of money for us. Heck, a hearty breakfast for me can be had with just about $1. And yet, with the turmoil all around the country, prices rise astronomically while our pay remain stagnant. The government may even arrest your employers if they dare, I mean, DARE to give you raises because their incompetence might get exposed. Realise the fact that many of us now earn about 3 dollars, if not less than a dollar, a day, and these "$100 in Burma" type videos are just... very saddening for us.
I'm sorry you have to endure hardships in your life related to government instability. I truly hope things turn around for you and your country. That being said, videos like these are extremely important to bring awareness to the rest of the world about what's happening with your currency. When more people know that the general population there are victims of their own government's financial warfare, more pressure gets put on international leaders to intervene
Granted, the primary motivation for international intervene would be financial. Corporations with political sway want your money. In order to get your money, you need to have money and your government can't be suppressing your ability to build enough wealth to engage with the international economy. Yes, mega-rich mega corporations want more money. What else is new? However, said corporations' quest for your money depends on your financial situation improving. Hopefully something like this, another intervention, or a combination of interventions can improve your quality of life
Jochen, what a nice guy with a beautiful heart and amazing personality. Not as a friend but I have known him for a long time.Even in these difficult times,he sticks with the Myanmar people to help and support the people in needs.I appreciate a lot for your work
thank you brother! Appreciate your kind words! Hope to catch up with you in Yangon - or anywhere else soon! Thank you for your support as well!! Together stronger for Myanmar!!
Hello everyone! This is Jochen from the video, the guy working with "Sonne International" to provide education and healthcare for children from the slums! I just wanted to say, Thank you so much for your support - I really appreciate every single donatian that was made through the link, and all the words of encouragement that were added. I promise that every contribution will go directly to our children and other people/communities in urgent nbeed of support here in Myanmar. Don't feel shy to contact me anytime through the email adress provided, should you have any questions or would like to contribute in another way. And should you ever be in Yangon - visitors are always welcome at our "Sonne centers" where over 300 children receive non formal education, nutitious meals and loving care from our teachers and social workers every day! Thank you very much! Love from Yangon. Jochen
As well, I live in Malaysia, I am Burmese, I feel sad for Aung San Suu Kyi and they are many people that suffer, Even my grandparents, they don't had nothing to eat, just fish or rice. And I pray for Myanmar and my grandparents and how much people suffering from Myanmar and the War is unrespectful for the grandparents or kids, Many Kids got bombed by the war and the poor babies too.And houses burn down or exploded. I always pray for Myanmar.
Great seeing you doing this stuff, Nikki. Your Austrian friend Johanne is an inspiration. I was here in 1979 and I thought the Burmese the best people in Asia. Despite the problems. Loved the video!
I have a whole playlist on Jochen and Sonne and I'm happy I introduced Nikki to him as Niki has a huge channel so I appreciate the help to raise awareness.
@MissLizaYangonMyanmar Yes, Nikki is a born commentator and a genuinely nice guy. So glad he got out of Russia when he did and is doing this good stuff in Asia.

thank you for this video. As a Myanmar who has been abroad for 3 years, this video reminds me of our people, our culture, and every memory of Yangon. Miss my family , too
Niki, I think your big dream is showing people all over the world everyday life in places they may never be able to see! I appreciate that and hope you continue to share global lives with us.
A friend taught in Myanmar maybe 15 years ago. She spent 2 or 3 years off and on living and teaching there. Your experience reminds me very much of her stories from her time there.
As a person who is not from Yangon, both of your videos took me to some new experiences which we can't see in other cities in Myanamar. The main difference between Yangon and other cities in Myanmar is, I think, the public transportation and crowd in public locations.
I got to travel across Myanmar from Thailand to India in 2019, it's terribly sad to see how the security situation has collapsed. I hope for peace and democracy for people there.
This is one of your better videos. It is unique in telling the story of every-day life in a less-traveled country. You report your experience in an informative and entertaining way.
I have a whole playlist on Jochen and Sonne and I'm happy I introduced Nikki to him as Niki has a huge channel so I appreciate the help to raise awareness.
Thanks so much for letting us know about Jochen and Sonne. I was more than happy to make a donation. As always, your video was awesome. They are always so entertaining.
Thank you Niki for your honest presentation of this video. People there should be thankful that you are helping them by letting others know what it’s really like for the foreigners as well as for the citizens of that country. It helps the rest of the world reach out and see how they can help.

1 month later, as a Burmese person. I nearly cried watching someone PROPERLY acknowledge my home country. Not some UA-camr milking a country for clout..
As bad as the clickbait title is, I think very respectful videos like this one bring much needed awareness. Hopefully this video and others like this are increasing opportunities for the Myanmar people. Thank you for posting this!!!

Some famous places in Yangon: M tower, Lotte hotel, The Central, Myanmar plaza, Time city, star city, 68 residence, Sule Shangrila, Sakura tower, Golden city condo, Pullman hotel, Pan pacific, etc... There are several KFCs, Pizza huts, Gloria Jean coffee, Krispy Kremes, Uncle Tetsu, Marry Browns, etc... You can rent a decent apartment in Ok+ neighborhood in YGN for 100$ per month. You can eat out at decent place for 100 times.
an apartment for 100$ (for a foreigner) is probably not very decent - especially now the housing/rental prices soared - as many people (who can afford it) from areas like Sittwe, Lashio, Mandalay move to Yangon (which is relatively safe) - so rental properties are in very high demand.
