Warning! 09:08 Don't ever kick the wheel like that without having the car on axle stands (or at least put another wheel under the car in case) as the car could have slipped off the jack and crushed you.
I think you know by now, haters are gonna hate! Even those subscribed to you. Love the transparency and you allowing a lot of us to live vicariously through you - for the time being! Good stuff!
Hey Strad, I might have commented on this before when you're changing to your winters, but if you hit the tire all the way around with a hammer, it will break loose and much safer than crawling under your car with no jack stands. If you still have your utv, put a plow blade on it, and you have all your plowing needs covered. Love the videos. Stay safe
Lots of stuff to say about the stuck wheel. That scared the heck out of me with you under the car kicking the wheel. That jack could have easily slipped off the car. And also, you’re lucky the carbon ceramic rotor didn’t break when the wheel banged down. They’re easy to chip. Be safe man
Wow dude - 9:14... WHAT NOT TO DO!!! That was very unsafe brother, especially that you were there on your own... I hope you are extra careful man... be safe!
hey strad just to save you some time brother, my wheels love getting stuck like yours. the easiest method my pops showed me was taking a hammer, preferably a rubber/plastic mallet (less chance of damaging anything) and hit it from the same point you were kicking. The bottom then the top and it usually slips right off. anyways keep up the great content man! watching this on my honeymoon, nothing will stop me from watching your new videos 😅
hey dude, watch out with changing the tires, I heard stories of people getting crushed by they're cars, not using jack stands. be careful, stay safe, keep up with the great vids!
Hey, I hope you see this, but when you have to swap wheels on stuff, leave one lug nut on each wheel you have to kick off, halfway threaded on. So you don't scratch the wheel!
Hey Strad, when kicking off wheels like you did on the Coupe, it is a good idea to thread the lug back on a few threads as it will not drop the wheel, just break it loose
James! Please for the love of all thing’s safety put stands under the car before kicking a wheel while under the vehicle! The car community needs you more than you know! Stay safe! ❤
I'm sorry for your loss, I know how attached we can get to those little floofers. I can't imagine how I'm gonna feel when my dog's time eventually comes.
Great video! One recommendation for your sticking wheel problem, leave one or more lug nut/bolt loosely screwed in while you kick the wheel. It will keep the wheel from falling off and getting scratched up. One other bit of advice, a snow blower would be a lot of work for as much driveway as you have. A plow on an atv or utv would be much easier. Just some thoughts.
my mom’s car was messing up & it sounded like it was abt to blow up. but we didn’t think abt looking under it for transmission oil. but we live in a trailer park so we don’t have any concrete so i don’t think that would’ve worked. but it’s been like 1-4 weeks since this has happened, & they told her that it was her transmission….. sooooo she needs a WHOLE new transmission for her car. & it’s still gonna take at least 2-3 more weeks until she gets it back, but keep up the good work james i’m a HUGE fan of yours. love your vids! ❤️.
Clean the wheelhubs with a wirewheel, where the rims contact. Then rub a bit of copper paste, dont drench it, just a bit on to the surface before you put the other wheels back on. That’ll make them much easier to remove when you switch back. Same goes for the wheel bolts/studs. Clean them up and rub a bit of copper paste on them. It protects the tread and makes the bolts come on and off much easier. Especially when you live in a place where you get both proper fall, winter and spring weather.
I actually love all the videos and watch them all. It's great to see you able to be so successful from allot of hard work. That's what it's supposed to be all about.
I think our boy James needs to commit to a true straight pipe exhaust for the Venti coupe. Ik he's a FI fanboy, but a Gintani exhaust on that car would be WILD.
A safer way for your wheels next time is to keep the top lug nut on it and have it twisted maybe 3 or 4 times and then kick off the wheel. prevent any falling to the floor👍
SUCH A GENIOUS PROSESS !! SUPER FACINATING AND ENJOYABLE TO WATCH !! MIKES TOWING AND THE AMAZING GUYS FROM RIVERTON CHEVORLET THANKS FOR SVING THE DAY!!!! SIR STRADMAN HAS BEEN MY HERO AND LIFE MENTOR FOR YEARS !!! WE LEARN SOOO MUCH FROM THIS UA-cam LEGEND!!!!!!!!
As a gm certified mechanic I will say there’s no reason for there to be something wrong with the transmission. You did the right thing and didn’t start or drive the car. The leak will be repaired and you’ll be good to go!
Hey Strad, you need to build an automatic touchless car wash bay in your property. Getting that road salt off your winter cars is a must….Or perhaps have a colab with Obsessed Garage and have them design a perfect car wash setup for year round in-house maintenance.
Mike stopped by my dealership and showed us all this video. Anybody who needs an affordable tow with an amazing guy please give Mike at all American towing a call! He’s been working with our dealership for years now and he’s an amazing guy!!
You should put in an epoxy floor in the bat cave. It reflects light and if they do it right, it can look good. Also, epoxy flooring in very durable and if you make a mess on it, it is super easy to cleanup. In my opinion, epoxy is the best garage floor material. Hopefully you see this, if so, give it a thought. Thanks, keep up the awesome videos.
Hey James, I would definitely look into some oil soak pads, I use spilify brand soaks which is what they use on most pipeline jobs to keep oil from equipment getting into dirt and streams. They work great!
Hey strad, since you struggled with getting your tires off I find the best way is to stand in front of the wheel but face the other way and back kick the tire it should work. You may have to do it 2-3 times.
The wheels getting stuck to the hub is very common especially in canada i have to deal with it every year but my trick is to use another wheels with tire and hitting it with it and it should come off within 2 hits and putting antiseize on it will prevent it from doing it again
Well we hate to see the z06 leave but she’ll be back unless things go horribly wrong which we hope they don’t. Also Oscar being as adorable since the day you got him cause he always has a smile when you call his name to let him know your home
Mechanics trick for stuck wheels: Thread two lug bolts/studs back in a little, then use a dead blow hammer on the back side of the wheel. Hit, turn, hit, turn, hit, turn. Also, jack stands.
Strad needs to buy his own tow truck he'd save so much money towing his cars on his own. Yes ik it's expensive to buy the actual trucks but for the years coming it'll save so much money and all he'd have to worry about is fixing the cars.

4 million subs 🔥🔥 ,i remember how stoked you were at 1 million and now it's 4. The journey has been so crazy and amazing. Coincidentally this is my 100th comment from this account.
Yo, stradman. Former big-diesel truck (450+ series) mechanic/fabricator. Kitty litter needs to be ground into the concrete for best results. Don't just pour and leave. Grind that shit down until it's a fine dust. Dance every number from footloose twice if you have too. After that, sweep up. If there's any little patch or two left behind that need more than two more small cycles of that, an electric pressure washer will finish the last tiny bit (100% chance if you spray 10% bleach on the area...super extra but if you need it, 🤷🏼♂️)
The question we all want it know is how did they get the car OFF the tow truck? Lol I don’t think he had enough dish soap to slide those rear wheels 10 feet off the truck 😳
quick tip about your seized wheels: put a small amount of anti-seize on the area the rim comes into contact with around the studs but be carful not to get any on the studs themselves. also throw a lug nut on when you're booting the back of the wheel so it doesn't fall off lol :)
I'm am such a huge fan and I'm from South Africa and I'm sorry about what happen about the c8 but it also gives you something to film about and give you income to take care of Oskar and add more things in the house 😁You're such a great youtuber and keep up the good work TheStradman💯
If your transmission is failed on the Z06, make sure your Dealership puts in what is called a SPAC case on the part, as the vehicle is under warranty. After this step, your dealership should be able to get with their Regional Manager for GM, and they can get involved to try and pull a unit off of production to repair the vehicle. We've had to do this at my previous GM dealers for other brand new vehicles that suffered major failures, when the part was still being used for production, and had not yet been released to PDCs for stock.
James, I'm a tire technician and I just wanted to give you a pro tip, leave one of the lug studs or lug nuts on, but loose and then kick it. That way when you kick it or hit it with a rubber mallet it doesn't go flying off.
You know when somebody really loves the dog when they have many pictures of their dog love the channel keep up the great work and I love Oscar❤❤❤😍🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
Hey Stratman, I’m surprised so you’re almost at 4 million subscribers. I’ve been here since 3 million good job and keep off the hard work and good job on 4 million. 😁
I concur with Chevrolet's customer service. I'm on my second chevy malibu, I just purchased a used 2021 RS from a chevy dealership in south florida... and their sales, service, and finance teams are top notch!
Get this in strads comment feed --> 7:13 stradman u can make it look like it was never there. Get the kitty litter an put it over the trans stains. The use fresh cardboard and slid over top of it with ur foot. The clean up the kitty litter. Works like a charm. Trick of the trade.
Hey James, to help with the wheel sticking you can put a small amount of grease on the part where the wheel hits the rotor. That will stop the corrosion which will make the wheel not stick
hey Stradman at my work we use something called purple power it’s good with cleaning up oil, grease, literally anything!! Also have someone clean where your wheels and rotors meet keeping that clean makes your wheels come off easier every time! Don’t forget to torque and re-torque for your own Safety Huge fan been watching for years can’t wait for the next upload!
If your driveway is steep and windy you need a heated driveway in park city but if it’s flat ur good … if it already got poured your gonna have to pay to have it ripped out and repoured as well it would cost a ton . Would be worth it for initial construction.
James just makes our day much better like watching this multi millionaire like if you've been here for like 4-5 years your a legend love you James you a true one
Hey strad nice to see the Z06 getting fixed. I noticed something when you were In the aventador. out of the 4-5 years I’ve watched you I have NEVER seen you wear a black hoodie kinda random but u looking real nice in it also I like the aventador with black wheels if you got custom black wheels with white accents that would look 🔥 keep up the good content Peace
There are all kinds of different liquids you could use: gasoline, thinner, engine de-greaser, "goof-off" etc... suggestion, get yourself a small shop broom, pour what ever liquid you use on a small section, scrub it 10-30 seconds then dump enough cat litter to cover that area, use the broom to scrub the cat litter over it help pull the dirtied cleaner liquid. I used to use this process in our work shop when repairing faulty equipment leaks. Good luck in removing those stains.
To stop your wheels sticking on. Put copper grease (The same you put on the back of your pads) on the outside of the disc hub between the wheel nuts where the wheel attaches, that way the rims will not stick and be easier to remove the next time.
Warning! 09:08 Don't ever kick the wheel like that without having the car on axle stands (or at least put another wheel under the car in case) as the car could have slipped off the jack and crushed you.
for real!
Rubber mallet to the tires works a lot better, unless you don't give a shit and just use a sledge.
