- Goodwill has gotten more donations than they can handle so they have resorted to selling sealed pallets of inventory for $50 each. I decided to take a chance and buy 3 of them!
It was a lot of work but I actually found some really great stuff!

I apologize for dumping the stuff I didn't want. I was in a time crunch to get these processed in one day. Goodwill wouldn't take the items as a re-donation and I didnt even think about putting them for free curbside pickup. I hear you guys and I'm sorry. I bought 8 more pallets after this and had a yard sale with the non-Ebay stuff and gave the yard sale leftovers away for free.

During this awful period in history where people are losing businesses and jobs, putting those items out for a buck apiece would make you $ and let people get stuff they need or little feel-good luxuries beyond their reach. You'd be a hero! And please say you're wearing a mask inside the businesses and when reselling. It wasn't clear in the vid.

There is plenty in the trash pile that you could sell on marketplace for $5-10. Or do a curb alert and let people pick from your front yard.

Ever thought that may be the case with the person above, and they were trying to make some quick cash to have money for bills? I have a “real job” and work full time at it, but I also make a good amount of money as a reseller, part time. Maybe they just enjoy reselling, like I do. No reason to be negative and cast your judgement on someone when you know nothing about them or their situation.

I’d start a yard sale pile instead of going to the dump. After buying several pallets you could have yourself a pretty profitable yard sale.

I think the goodwills by my house would burn the items before selling them on pallets. There prices are higher than ebay at times
Same here. Our “new” Goodwill opened with prices higher than retail!
finally they are doing what they should. Soon enough one group of employees will actually make them very profitable. we only have another two years of goodwill doing things like this. it would be smarter if they shut down half the store and did 100% online listings. It is coming for sure.
I love it when they have Dollar Tree stuff and put $2 on it. My stores will put a big price on a half used candle!

Can't donate it back to the same place usually, but I definitely wouldn't tried to do something else with it.

I'm glad the dumping was addressed because there are so many organizations, families, single moms, and minority business owners trying to get their feet off the ground and this could have helped go a long way. Even though it was used it still could have been Christmas gifts for people/kids to give. Giving back is a huge part of being successful also.
You could have 1 heck of a .50 yard sale with everything that was trashed. Put it on the lawn and advertise as .50 each.
Good video Josh. It's good to see you pick up some bargains but a pity that so much of the stock went straight into landfill rather than passed on either through a yard sale or just re-donating back to another thrift store. I'm sure someone could have found some use for some of that stuff. Good luck with all the listing!

Landfills... America really needs to get down to real recycling. Not only America, but this vid is from there so .... Anyway, its disgusting. In my country we take care of exactly everything. And if you dont recycle or put like paper in plastic bins, you get a ticket. :) Thats how you take care of shit!

Phoenix Metro, Arizona, where I currently live, now has several cities that will no longer take anything since they are saying it costs too much to recycle😡~Beyond maddening for me as from Cali and use to recycling almost everything😭:(
I try to re-donate and align charities such as local churches, women's shelters, homeless shelters and outreach so hardly anything goes in the trash if I can't use it.
Good deal our goodwill is ridiculously expensive they lost sight of helping people who cant afford much

An Item is worth $70 and looks in "Almost New" Condition.
After Josh Inspects it and throws it 8 feet away on top of another great pile, the Item is now worth $50 and became "Very Used" Condition...

When booting up the PC just hold in f10, f12, or f2 (it's different for each computer) the boot options will come up and you can choose to restore the computer to original. No password needed and it will be as new again.
You should do a fill a bag for a $1 bring your own bag with the stuff you are taking to dump. Do you not get a dump fee? Or just list free stuff at end driveway. People donate to keep it out of the land fills.

Yes should at least do a free curb alert, all those dolls going to the dump really upsets me as a doll restorer, collector and seller

Great vids - all of them! Most people don't realize your storage space is exactly what a reseller's storage space looks like. I personally am impressed of your effort to have a system. You taught me about the custom SKU field in the Additional Specifics section of the listing. invaluable! As far as discarding items to the trash, you live and learn. My personal experience is that after a long day of eBaying, re-donating items many times is that last thing on your mind. Your video are the best representation of what a pallet buyer experiences in a day. Thanks for making them.

I have to say that I shop at Goodwill a lot. It helps our community and I get pretty good deals on craft supplies that other people discarded brand new. If your Goodwill has a craft Supply section and you're a Crafter always check there, most of the things are brand new. I also want to give a shout out to Goodwill employees.
Man, I know you were excited about all this stuff, but how much did you break after you bought the pallets, because you were handling the items so rough/ carelessly. It was painful to watch, sorry.

Covid is bringing all sorts of reselling opportunities we wouldn’t normally have. I say make the most of the pallets while they’re there. Buy as many as you can. Cause it won’t last forever and it makes good videos. Storage space might be an issue but make it work.
Also, the pumpkin blow moulds could be worth way more than you think. See if you can find a year/manufacturer on them somewhere so you can look them up properly.
Only one was a blow mold and it was newish. The other one was like a foam material. Still cool though.

If you are bulking up on lots of donation things - you can recycle the metal and get paid that way. It's not much, but a couple of bucks for the same unload that you are doing might pay for some gas! :) or find an e-cycler for some of those things. (Or your local buy nothing groups).
Obviously, space is pretty tight, but if you have spare time and want to get rid of it - folks will come grab lots of free stuff.

Not trying to be over critical, but you’re throwing everything on the ground and in the back of your truck. A lot of the stuff could get broken, scratched, or damaged. People are so critical about condition, aren’t you worried about this?
I'm not really worried about it. It had already been thrown in a box and had stuff on top of it.

Instead of the landfill, I will set it on the curb with a FREE sign, or a garage sale sometimes you can get someone to run it for half the profits, but I do throw away the broken stuff.
I personally really enjoyed the realism of the video. It just inspires the fun and the work that comes from buying and valuing items.

I saw a Care Bear in the pallet. I used to collect all kinds of Care Bears when I was 5 or 8 years old back then. I had a container full of my favorite ones, and they were awesome to collect, and I used to watch the cartoons of the Care Bears on VHS. Ah, memories. My container of care bears used to be in my closet. and in the basement, but my dad told me to throw them out in the dumpsters, because they were soaking wet from the pipes in the basement. Sabrina Griffin. And now I'm collecting them again.

At goodwill in hawaii we work hard sort through things and even hang and prices all the money we make from it go to help family who need job resources and also help them get in college and charity and people like him take resources from people buy come in there buy it and try Profit more money it take the mean and the resources always from what we are try too do

For $50 I would have given that a go. You can't go wrong for that price. Unfortunately our charity shops/thrift stores, here in the UK don't do things like that. Not that I'm aware of. Most of our charity shops aren't open yet. They're not opening until July/August. I've just got to mention the beautiful blue skies in your video, although I don't envy you that heat. 🥵😲

You shouldn't trash the stuff you don't want just set the stuff close to your mailbox or just the end of your driveway and put Free on it. Just BC you don't wanna fool with it doesn't mean somebody wouldn't like to have the stuff.

Goodwill go trough everything that donated and we trash always the things that are trash and we put out things they work and good condo so him go through piss me off his doesn’t know how hard we bust our ass everyday and I notice a lot people donated there dirty clothes and there trash stop donated that stuff because we didn’t keep we dump in trash

Please consider putting all the stuff you don't want on your curb with a FREE sign and post it on FB Marketplace or NextDoor! Saves you time and lowers the landfill. I saw you shaking with excitement! I would have been too, wheeeee! Happy for you!
Before you trash have a 1.00 yardsale ...you can list Ebay stuff on you cell during slow yardsale times.No time wasted,save the landfill and gain money.. Work smarter,not harder..
I would love for you to do a video on the business side... How long do you leave something up on ebay waiting for it to sell? How do you handle negative feedback (we got our first and it was the biggest slap in the face)? How long do you expect it to take to sell some things?

Hey Hairy, I was getting into reselling and I was wondering if you could give me some pointers. (Without Bias) Which is better for starting out, eBay, or Amazon FBA? I was planning on selling books and I feel I would be better on Amazon for books. but when it comes to a pair of headphones I have been trying to sell them on eBay because I can't sell them on Amazon without verification. Anyways, I put them on eBay and have gotten about 10 offers which were all scams. It's honestly very annoying and I don't think I can put up with it for every single item I list. How do you combat this? Thank you so much for your videos. Loving each one.
if you can't put up with the bad how do you expect to receive the good? the only way to learn is trial and error. the more you post and sell the experience you'll earn and find better things to sell and better ways to combat that
