Thank you for sharing this, great landmark of music history indeed! And now after watching this I'm gonna watch The Gospel Road by the Man in Black himself!

This video was really cool to watch. We love Johnny Cash's music. Most of these performers were at the height of their popularity before our time. But we grew up listening to all of the performers mentioned here because our parents were big fans of these musicians. Mark seems like a really good tour guide and story teller. We enjoyed listening to him. Thanks for sharing your tour of Sun Studios with us!

Glad you enjoyed it. Mark was a great tour guide. It was so neat to be in this historic studio. I love that they have maintained the original character of the building and haven't changed it. We want to tour the RCA Studio in Nashville too. Hope y'all are doing well.

Y’all have done some great videos in the past, but think this one tops them all! I grew up with Elvis, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins, etc and it was such a treat to see where they made their fantastic music. True, Elvis went on to become great at RCA, but he got his start here. Great history!!! I thoroughly enjoyed this video!!

It was so fascinating to tour this studio. Your are right, without Sun Studio the world may not have had Elvis. That's hard to imagine. So many greats have recorded hits here. Glad you enjoyed the video.

Great video. That Studio is too cool. It's probably as cool as Abbey Road studio. We would like to visit Memphis one day. Alot of good stuff there. Great Elvis impersonations. Thanks for sharing.

You should definitely visit Memphis! So much to see and do in Memphis. I think Abbey Road Studio would be awesome to tour too. We want to tour RCA in Nashville. We stopped by Nashville after Memphis but didn't have time for that tour. Appreciate your continued support!

Arrrrrrgggghhhh! Too much of what they have on display as "museum pieces" I used in my career. Indeed, I have set foot in too many Radio and TV stations that could be considered operating museums! RCA was still rebuilding some of those mics into the early 1980's before RCA Broadcast was sold-off to Thomson of France. The "decor" in the studio reminded me too much of my first radio station. As for Elvis, I was in the "city room" at WAVA AM-FM on 8/16/1977 when all the AP and UPI teletype machines (The first dox-matrix printers I ever saw...) went nuts with news of his death. Susan Yackee (Editor) and I both said (unprintable) at the same time while it printed. Cindy Hecht (Afternoon anchor) grabbed the bulletin once it crossed dashed into the air studio and interrupted the other afternoon anchor and we hit air with it. That was probably the last major news story the first all-news radio station in the U.S. broke in the D.C. market as the sale of the stations was pending FCC approval at the time. The 50KW FM would see a variety of owners (Album Rock, then Top-40, now Christian) with the 1KW AM daytimer seeing fewer changes, keeping a variety of Christian formats under newer owners until it was re-folded back into being WAVA-AM. Too many memories -mostly good ones-in this video. God Bless!

Love all of the memories you shared! You have so many interesting experiences that you need to put down in a book! Always enjoy reading them.
I can imagine how the news of Elvis's passing impacted everyone. That is in fact one of my earliest memories is the death of Elvis. This was our first visit to Sun Studios and really learned so much.
Do you have lots of memorabilia from your radio days?

@@vafunseekers I think I may still have a T-Shirt from my first radio station. That's the only one I was "talent" at. Engineers are the unstrung -I mean unsung- heroes!
