For the fact that the game was on hard mode and she had never played any type of vr game like that before makes this pretty impressive.

@@Domon678PS3 Not really, most VR fighting games are more about learning the gimmicks of the VR equipment than they are about the actual skill you're supposed to be demonstrating. We're only just now getting to the point where that's not always true, but there's still a lot of stuff that just doesn't translate over yet.

The best moments were when she'd land a good hit and immediately relax a little because in real life, that dude would be on the ground, but in the game, he gets back up.

But it's the loudmouth non-schooled jerky boys who get they asses beat by skilled and experienced female boxers. Bottom line. Accept that fact and move on or go to a gym and spar with an experienced female boxer and find out the hard way son
Ev Cruel No, the moment any heavier 100lbs male grabs her she is done. She knows only boxing, not grappling. And trust me a 250lbs male can take much harder punches than a 150lbs woman

A man who is not experienced in taking punches from another boxer can not take the same level of punishment. I say this from experience, painful experience
Mikaela is a beast, man! This is so cool to think about where VR will be in a few years -- imagine the VR boxing tournaments that will be held worldwide! No weight divisions, no trauma to the head, male vs female. We're living in the future!
I kinda think the same but with the complete opposite feeling (not enthusiastic at all). There are sports that I think it wouldn’t be that different once that VR reaches a top but combat sports... man. It looses completely the point about stepping up in a ring, mat, octagon, etc. To have respect for the opponent because you’re challenging in a fight where anything can happen but you’re fighting your fears when stepping up there in, probe your limits. Sorry, just a combat sports fan here more than a video games fan.

@@MrPatspp Exactly. Boxing is about overcoming all odds and challenging yourself. If matches were really all vr there'd be no point. It has the potential to make a REALLY good training tool though.

Yeah that’s kinda an issue with this game and not being able to sense fast movements
It's able to do that just fine for me, but the stamina thing and how it slows your punches is hard to get used to.
Yes, Its fun how when she get tired and slow down , The game start to pick up better her movements
VR combat is going to be flawed no matter what even after they detect fast movements. The issue is of resistance and de-syncing; if the person blocks you, or meets your leg/arm etc and pushes on it, there is currently no way to simulate it. In real life someone can even counter you and throw or trip you (not in boxing, but other styles of combat), but that can't happen in VR. So they make all enemies a ragdoll which is unrealistic. It's hard to come up with a solution for how to fix this until we gets direct-to-brain Matrix VR technology.

She said "You're standing right in front of your opponent, that goes against everything coach Al taught me." That's the problem with this game. You can't use footwork, you can't use use angles. They tell you to pull straight back (bad idea) instead of slip to the side. You are limited by the character's stamina instead of your own. It encourages so many bad boxing habits.
As someone who works in a place that has VR and tests it regularly, Creed isn’t fun to watch or play. The gameplay is so repetitive and just goes on forever. That isn’t even mentioning the bad tracking and limited movement in the game. We still don’t advertise the game just because everyone that plays it doesn’t like it.

@@mreverybody1150 Thrill of the fight is a much better game. You can actually use footwork, properly slip punches, get angles, etc.... You're limited by your own endurance, and the way that hard punches do more damage, has you swinging hard and puffing for air. TotF is a proper boxing simulator, and Creed is an arcade game.
I watched some of her fights. Amazing skills. Loved that she gave him another punch as he went down in the last fight (5:50) lol
This is very interesting to see an Olympic boxer win the champion level of difficulty.
She did great on Champion mode. I've been doing about a half hour of this game a day and it will wear you out. I love that in this game, you have to think about their weakness, read their tells and attack smarter and not full on berserker style. A smart boxer will do better in this game and she proved that. Awesome job and great VR title.

they do in fact! Onward and Pavlov ends up with a lot of current and ex military and they know their stuff. I was a cadet and the skills do transfer. If you know how to fire a real gun, vr guns, if done right, are pretty similar.

this game is basically just a glorified wii boxing. it doesn't allow you to move and it looks like it wasn't even responding very well to the types of punches she was throwing.

The feeling of "being there" is really cool but the games are still extremely gimmicky and "game-y", I haven't played a single VR game yet where the gameplay would feel anywhere close to "real" as opposed to just a glorified (if more accurate) wii game.
Betty, The fact is, it's a video game. The technology is there to respond to different punches, at least on the Vive, psvr controllers are outdated. You don't want the game to be that brutally realistic it's meant for casual entertainment.
Realistic VR tech might be possible in the next few years

It’s obvious but I am just amazed at how good her combinations are, and most of it transfers into the game. I mean most people’s uppercuts don’t even get translated that well into this game.
Creeds good. But alot of ppl just wildly swing the move controller and somehow down you. No type of form at all, so the game doesnt require you know boxing technique. I train in real life and was highly disappointed with the way the gameplay works

As a former MMA pro fighter and amateur boxer who has played the game I can honestly say it's a ton of fun, and is cool not having your one and only brain in the line LOL.
I totally loved it and wanted to buy a VR headset ASAP just after the first time I tried this game.

Ahhh.....as I expected, she was too fast for the VR. This happen to me too. I throw 3 jabs less than a sec, in VR I wasn’t throw any jabs at all.
Thing is the VR or Fight Sims machine cannot calculate the speed of person who knows and can throw punches or kicks at all.
it can but this game has a stamina system so the fists will slow down. I throw really fast punches and it works if your stamina is high enough. If not it will delay your arm movement in game
You're not too fast for the game, it has a stamina system so if you punch you slow down significantly
When you get punched or miss punches or are constantly blocking your stamina slows down. It can track it because your are holding the things in your hands but to make it realistic and not like a punching bag it has stamina. At the beginning of the match it tracks perfectly for me.
