These are all very agreeable and valid points, but they've been made by many others, way before this video was released a year ago and that is why we have so many people and companies already addressing them. And even if CZ were to release a third-generation model with all these features including, there's always going to be third-parties to make your gun even better so; unless you're ready to pay more for an already excellent pistol that can be found for less than $500, just leave it alone.
I love mine, I added the MCARBO trigger kit, it made all the difference, I also bought a 19 round mag as PO-9 and PO-10 mags will fit but will need a mag sleeve at the bottom. Now, I can hit the target from up close and personal back to 15 to 20 yards
I own a P07, and its pretty perfect for me. I understand all of your recommendations to improve the firearm, but I'm not into optics, Im fine with the trigger (I will be pulling at a much faster pace if I have to use it), the backstraps are also OK for me. Keep up the fantastic work!!! CZ fanboy over and out.
You raised excellent points - some of which I'd be very happy to see on my P-07. It has been my EDC for 10 years now. I'm definitely never selling this pistol.
I install the Cajun 18 lb hammer spring, firing pin spring and their firing pin retaining pin. Those 3 simple changes fix the DA pull and prevent peening of the firing pin retaining pin especially with dry fire.
+1 for showing the CZ P series some love, they're criminally underrated and very shootable guns, especially the P09. I think some must needed changes include the optics ready cut that you mention, but also I think the grips from the P10 feel way more natural, that grip on the P09 and P07 platforms would be incredible.
Looking at a P-07 and a P-10 C side by side, I think the reason for the grip shape of the P-07 is the need for room to house both the magazine and the main spring, which the P-10 doesn't have, being striker fired.
Its the most reliable gun ive ever owned i cant remember ever having a malfunction. And i shoot almost all reman and cheap ammo pluss thousands of .22lr through a kadet conversion. The double action gets much smoother with wear.
Personal preference I like the DA trigger pull when it Comes to a carry gun. Feels like a better safety feature and less likely to somehow get snagged or misfire.
Have an early version P-07. It says DUTY on the slide. Front strap and back strap texture is near perfect. DA trigger pull was heavy from factory. Put in a lighter mainspring, Trigger pull is excellent now. You're right about the optics cut. Everyone is going that way, at least for now.
Excellent comments and observations - I'm a huge CZ fan and I think that they do listen to their customers. Hopefully they will consider your recommendations.

Just bought a p07, optics is no biggie for me, 3 mags I totally agree as I immediately order 2 extras. Texture, would be nice but recoil is so low it’s easy to control with the off hand finger pads, texture in those are awesome. Great video and yep if they do half of it would be great. People are starting to get wise on CZ, I’ve been a fan of them for quite a while. I have a 75 compact also, and love it too. Take care
I own a cz p07 Gen 2 in od green I love it my only 2 hangups are the insanely long take up and reset if it had less take up and a shorter reset I'll take the 8+ lb pull
P 07 just needs a good manual break in. Meaning rack it 1000x and Dry fire on an earplug or o ring 1000x and that trigger works itself out like butter. P 07 is amazingly reliable out of the box and is an excellent shooter.
Everything you said 32 Icon is definitely on point and I thank you for your review. My top 3 mandatory upgrades for the P07 are 3 magazines, a much better double action roller and a short reset that will come standard with the trigger. God bless and may your channel grow further.✊🏽
Thanks for the review / mods. I use a Kahr as a carry pistol, have HK's, Sigs, 1911's and a Springfield HP but a CZ with red dots would really help my old eyes.
Totally agree. I just added some Dawson fiber optic sights to mine. Wish they had a set with a raised rear. The dovetail being farther back would be nice too so when I add a red dot it's not as far forward. I stippled the back strap myself. Figured they're replaceable if I screw it up. I'd be nervous about doing the front but might attempt with some more practice. As far as the mags I don't think it's a big deal considering the price of the gun and p10 mags being readily available
P-07 double action smooths out with continued use. Change the trigger spring polish the inner parts and shoot the snot out of it. Mine is pretty smooth.
It's a great gun, but very archaic and the actual reasons you just described. This is the reason why I have not purchased one yet because they need to get into 2022 before I purchase one or I just go with the competition that is already doing such
I agree. Even though I love how dependable my P07 is. Optics ready is big right now. They’ve discontinued mags for it. I believe I have to order p10 mags. And they’re not cheap. And finally like my scorpion the trigger sucks. I’m looking for another carry pistol now
I have both pistols…. And Yes they are magazine compatible. I think they are the same magazine actually. I suggest looking at an Arex Delta M gen 2 as a carry option. Much thinner and lighter than the P 07 and P 10c, with the same magazine capacity and your P 10c mags will work in the Arex. The mags are just a bit longer than the factory Arex magazines.
I would add extending the side areas to support the index finger of the skilled hand and the thumb of the supporting hand (there is space on both sides to do this). On my P-09 I made a stippling to achieve a better grip.
Ok, perhaps this was made to poke beara...lol so here goes. CZ is my secured car rider. Grip-many tubers complained that the back strap grip was too aggressive. I prefer aggressive. Sights- being raised solely to rack slide on something...NOT. Optics Ready...For the sissies that can't shoot. Its a pistol, not a rifle. Thats that marketing sell more crap BS. What duty gun has optics on it? So that's confusing in itself. 3 - mags, oh so when they do that the price goes up $40 and folks will whine about that. 2 mags is enough. I totally agree with you on that trigger pull, that looked heavy and bad. Keep up the good video work, so happy to see the growth.
You do a great job! Love your information you put out. It’s great to see more women exercising their 2A rights! We know the anti-2A folks hate that women are getting guns. Minnesota just put on paper in court rebuttal that 18 to 20 old women didn’t have 2A rights. crazy!
I carry an od green p07 exclusively and have for 3 years now. I bought the gun for $400. At that price i dont mine getting an optic cut at my leisure/preference, since after market optic options are usually better anyway. The trigger is fine imo. This is not a competition gun, the first pull should be heavy and deliberate. It smooths out a lot over the course of 500-1000 rounds. Again there are also third party options, or one could carry it cocked and locked. I dont like the stock sights and agree with you a sight upgrade would be easy and shouldnt cost much if anything.
I upgraded my p07 to a micro roni with a holosun red dot mounted on top! We can’t seem to put it down when we go to the range! We can hammer nails with it! Awesome video, keep up the good work.
Great video. I have a CZ P07 Custom which I recently released a video on my channel. Regarding the slide lock, it’s suppose to operate like a Barreta 92 series, which you have to use your support hand to release the slide lock. Vickers tactical did a great video explaining how to properly use the slide lock on certain pistols with the slide lock so far forward on the frame. It’s like that by design. I laughed when you mentioned Glock and their many different (yet the same) generations. Absolutely true. Lol. Awesome video. Keep it up 🤙🏼
Liv, you gotta pack up the P07 and send it to the CZ Custom team. Initially, I was hesitant, but when I got my P07 back, it was a new firearm-smoother trigger take-up and break. Now when I open the safe and look over at it, it's like Chris Rock's character Pooky from 'New Jack City'; "it just keeps calling me, and I just gotta go to it."
I personally own one of these CZ P07 firearms. What I can tell you is that you nailed it. Secondly, I would like to add that the sight picture could go from three dot tritium night sights to a more Hackathorn sight setup. Blacked out and anti-glare rear sign with a night sight front post. The trigger pull weight for DA comes in at about 12lbs from factory. That’s entirely too high. The 8-10lbs range would be great. They could smooth out the trigger pull for both the DA and SA too!
Love that P07 in OD green! I bought this gun (all black) after watching your video. I only paid $399 at my LGS, used. I was ecstatic! After 1 month of shooting it I agree with everything you said. It's quickly become one of my favorite guns, but the small improvements you mentioned would knock this out of the park! My husband and daughter really love it too. I would be happy to pick up another one if it was released with an optic cut.
Thanks for watching. There are companies now that will do an optics cut for it and enhance the trigger and grip. It will cost about as much as the gun, but might be worth it.
Everything you mention should/could absolutely be addressed, but my old eyes make the lack of an optics cut a non-starter. that’s just something I have to have nowadays! Been wanting an P07 ever since we FINALLY got CCW in NJ. More precisely I’ve wanted a SA/DA pistol ever since and the P-.07 is pretty much at the top of my list. But adding $200+ of machine work on a $400 pistol seems like a poor use of a finite amount of funds - and I don’t see CZ spending the $$ updating a 10 year old pistol with dated Ops. So unless I find a great deal in the used listings, it’s a used P226 (unlikely and expensive even then) or an APEX more likely to end up being a Beretta 92 or honestly a tasty new 2011 of some manuf. Unfortunately imma thinkin SADA had its day in the sun and I missed it having the state of NJviolating my civil rights🇺🇸
Kel-Tec's P3AT has a trigger that is rather sharp and unfiled. I wrapped it in electrical heat shrink tubing, and at the inside-bottom of the trigger guard I put a soft-side velcro patch where it bites my finger. It's the plastic lawn furniture of solutions lol but both work well.
Great video! The double action is way too rough and heavy. I installed a set of MCarbo springs and it helped a lot. The Dawson sights are also a good upgrade. Talon grips make the gun fill the hand.
@2:23 i carry a p07 every day. If you dont like the double action trigger pull, switch that decocker out for the safety and carry the pistol cocked and locked 1911 style. in b4 "but muh safety mhr mhr mhr" if you train to take the weapon off safe as you bring it up to acquire a target you dont even have to think about it, its muscle memory. Same with an AR you take it off safe as you bring the rifle up from low ready or rest etc.
@3:04, its a combat pistol, if you want a 3lb trigger get a 75b or shadow. @3:43 mine's a suppressor ready setup and the rear sight still sucks for a one hand rack. @4:30, the slide release definitely should be updated. @5:15, agreed on the 3rd mag. @6:07 that's what talon tape or skateboard grip tape is for. or get some custom soldering iron stippling in there. overall the optics and grip texture are great suggestions. I would say the rear sight needs squared off in the front as well as raised, as like i mentioned my suppressor ready read sight is quite tall, but slanted on the front aside a small ledge. you can rack it off your belt or boot, but it takes some practice. I would add a suggestion to revise the serrations on the slide itself, theyre not as grippy as some other models.
My wife shoots my p07 and she never had that pinching issue are you pulling the trigger low? And once I shot the p07 for 2-3k lbs the DA is right around 8lbs which is perfect for me but ya outta the box it’s 9.5 - 10 lbs
Your points are on point. I mean, it’s already a winner but those upgrades would make it ridiculous!! Especially the front/back strap texture upgrade and optics cut. I mean… put some of the texturing from the side on the front and back. Come on CZ!! Make your fantastic firearms even better!!! This is my third time trying the P-07. First two pinched my trigger finger. This last one has a different looking trigger and does not pinch my finger. Hopefully it works out.
All of these, although, like you I am left handed so the slide stop isn't an issue, I drop it with my trigger finger. Definitely make it optics ready for sure!
My P07 was my first DA/SA gun, so I don't have others to compare. I liked it a LOT compared to my striker-fired guns (I have three of the four P10-series, plus a Sig P365XL, and had a S&W M&P M2.0 subcompact). I find myself much more comfortable having a loaded DA/SA pistol in the holster than a striker-fired--YMMV. I LIKE that the DA trigger is heavy, as a reminder that I'm pulling the trigger on a loaded chamber, but I also seem to have more hand strength than some folks. I haven't sprung for the Cajun Gun Works upgrade, for a couple reasons (cost being one, reluctance to modify an EDC piece being another). Is the DA trigger rougher than others? Perhaps so. Is it problematic? Perhaps so, if one has others to compare or is more sensitive to such things than I am. In any case, the thing shoots better than I can shoot. If I ever become a good enough shooter to justify getting a CZ Shadow2, I might feel differently. I like my P07 enough that I watched for a P09 on that auction site we all know, and found one that had been machined to accept a Vortex Venom RDS. I like it, and keep it as a home defense piece. If I'm out in the world carrying openly, it's my preferred piece. Yes, it would be nice to have an optic-ready slide on my P07, even if I don't put a RDS on mine! Magazine quantity and availability is most assuredly a problem! As an aside, the mags for the P10-series fit fine in the P07 if they hold fifteen rounds or more (the P10S 12-round magazine won't, but that's not a surprise). My P10F 19-round mags work fine in my P07, but it's a stone beeyotch to find CZ mags, let alone at decent prices. I see M&P and Sig mags all over the place... I think grip texture is subjective, but I also agree that the texture on the backstrap could improve. I might try my hand at stippling one of my spare backstraps with a soldering iron. While I see your point on the rear sight being the way it is, I don't think it's going to be an issue for me (Ooops, jinxed myself, I'll need that ability to rack my slide against a belt tomorrow afternoon, after not having need to use a firearm in self-defense for sixty years!). Out of expensive curiosity, I tried a couple of the alloy-frame CZ 75 variants, and really like the 75D PCR. I miss the accessory rail a tiny bit, but far prefer the decocking lever on the PCR to that of the Omega set up in the P07 and P09. Even with my large-ish hands, I find the Omega decocker less convenient than the PCR one (the latter is behind the pivot instead of in front of the pivot, which seems to be more of the issue for me than the placement relative to my thumb). So, in addition to the list you offered, I would like to see the decocker changed to be more like the one on the PCR. As much as I like my P07, I like my PCR even better.
Mine came with night sights and it doesnt do what she wanted. Hers came with night sights as well all the od green versions came with facotry night sights.
@@pwn3426 are you talking about factory sights that you have to charge with a flashlight and then they wear out? I don't think we are talking about the same thing.
Excellent video with some great points. I bought mine last month. I live in WA and bought six extra 17rd p10 mags before our unconstitutional high capacity magazine ban went into effect. Was a little overkill, so I gave two to my dad. He also has a P-07. I plan on getting the slide milled for an RMR down the line, as well as a CGW trigger job. I ordered a Tier 1 axis slim to go with it. Overall awesome gun, but could definitely do with some of the points you mentioned.
I had a P-07 exactly like yours. I’m 78 years old and have to sell it because I can’t rack the slide any longer due to my reduced grip strength. Otherwise a nice weapon. Could add night sights.
I have the P-07 Urban Grey Suppressor-ready and I love it. It has been my off duty carry. My variation is stock and I have no interest in changing anything. I also have the P-10 Urban Grey Suppressor-ready which I love also.
Liv what is the single action like as far as the trigger pull? Is there a wall before the break? Just asking because one person said there's 3 different trigger pulls. Long double action pull, single action pull and 1/4 cock pull. Trying to decide between the P10C and the P07. Want both but it's gonna be a while between purchases. One or both are gonna be concealed carry but just at home for now until I get CHL later on. Thx Liv! 👍🇺🇲
Yes, that is correct. There are three types of trigger pulls. Typically, if you carry it with the decocker then once you change a round, you'll not the decocker and the hammer will come down, but not all the way down. Lol. (You wouldn't want that. Hahaha.) And that trigger pulls is slightly less than if the hammer was all the way down. Still, it's a long and heavy pull. Thanks for watching.
i have the p09. it needs Red dot ready (i had to send mine off). it needs grip( i had to put talon). even when you do a trigger job to the OMEGA trigger. they dont change the single action. it just changes the double action.
I just bought CZ P07 and agree it pinched the hell out of my fat finger. Love the gun other than that. Planning on Cajun Gun Works trigger job soon and possibly a new trigger. Any suggestions on fixing the finger pinch?
Have you tried installing the large blackstrap? My P 10c would pinch my finger with the smaller back strap sometimes, changed to the large and it seemed to alleviate this problem.
You do know the P-07 is essentially a triple action trigger system. It has single action, decocked double action, and restrike. That last one is pulling through the entire strike if the hammer falls and a round doesn't go off (either with a round chambered or an empty chamber.) The restrike trigger stroke is longer and heavier than the decocked DA. Not by that much, but it's noticeable. Also DA/SA guns don't sell all that well any more in general. Gun companies are putting their money into striker fired guns.

Solid points.
Just put XS sights on mine and completely changed it for the better.
Expensive…..and worth it.
Oh yeah!
Looove my CZ po7 great shooting pistol excellent ergo. Accurate shooter Swapped out the mags for the 17 round p10c mags.
Oh yes, I love my P07 and I carry it all the time but I would love optics ready.
Agreed! Having an optics ready slide was one major reason I went with the P-10s. There were other reasons but those were more personal preference.
Yes, they have to update that ASAP.
Great video! It looks like CZ listened!!!!!
Thank you, I agree.

Hello, thanks for your videos, could you make one of how you handle the cz p07, since being left-handed like you I have some problems with mine
I don’t know if anyone has written yet, but CZ USA has $50 rebate for purchase of P07,P09,P10 until September 30th. That’s a great value.
Oh wow. Didn't know that. Thank you.
...all great points
Liv, you gotta pack up the P07 and send it to the CZ Custom team. Initially, I was hesitant, but when I got my P07 back, it was a new firearm-smoother trigger take-up and break. Now when I open the safe and look over at it, it's like Chris Rock's character Pooky from 'New Jack City'; "it just keeps calling me, and I just gotta go to it."
😂 I'm happy you're enjoying it.
👌🏽💙
Totally agree. Going on 3 years using the P07 in ODG as my EDC. I see no need for change other than an updated P07.
I have the mcarbo trigger kit and ghost ring sights on mine . The after market trigger helps but still not as good as I would like
Good review! Hope all is well! It’s been a minute..
Hi. Nicely presented content. You were clear and concise. Agree with all your points. Great gun
Can always use another magazine but the trigger upgrade is a must. First thing I did was a Cajun trigger job.
For sure!
CZ. The lady has taste and class! I love my CZs.
😊
Great video Girl!! I agree with all you said, especially 3 magazines & optic ready!
Great video! I´m a CZ P-07 fan from Brazil.
Thank you for the video. Subscribed.
Thanks for the sub!
Lol. That’s a low bore sights are low for a reason. If you want the sights higher you would get the threaded barrel version for suppression.
For sure! Thanks for watching.
Another great video. I would love to see those changes made to the P-07!
The heavy trigger was designed as the safety feature so in case it snags.
You should check out the night fision sights for the p07. They do what you want, and tritium.
Agreed optics ready is mandatory at this point and grip going up and 3 magazines for sure ... get after cz :D though
😂 They're not going to listen to me.
we miss you 32 icon! one of my fav gun tubers of all time! 😎❤
Miss y'all too. I'll be back in September. Lol. Thanks for caring. 😊
@@32icon thanks for letting me know icon your the best!😎💥
I had a P-07 exactly like yours. I’m 78 years old and have to sell it because I can’t rack the slide any longer due to my reduced grip strength. Otherwise a nice weapon. Could add night sights.
I have the P-07 Urban Grey Suppressor-ready and I love it. It has been my off duty carry. My variation is stock and I have no interest in changing anything. I also have the P-10 Urban Grey Suppressor-ready which I love also.
have CZ said they are going to release a new version of the p07? that would be awesome . I shoot a stock p07 in competitions and love it.
No, not that I know of. I was just giving my opinion on the what I think would work for future release if they chose to do so.
The P10c texture would be perfect. Put a talon on my P09 and the used P07 I picking up tomorrow already has the Talon grip
That grip texture should be the # 1 priority
I mean, it is pretty bad. Lol.
I just bought CZ P07 and agree it pinched the hell out of my fat finger. Love the gun other than that. Planning on Cajun Gun Works trigger job soon and possibly a new trigger. Any suggestions on fixing the finger pinch?
I think you might need to reposition your finger. It's kind of hard BC it slips under recoil, but no way to avoid it.
Great video Liv!
Did you just say "racket it up with my boobs or boots" ..lol gotcha...awesome review!!
😂 Boots, man....BOOTS! 😂
