Stu Copeland and Sting! The greatest rhythm section since Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce! Copeland's drumming style is amazing! The Police weren't like any other three piece ever! They didn't just plug in, crank up and blast! They used space and time! They exploited Reggae to hone fills! They were the most incredibly innovative outfit!!
Trying to play it now, after a joint replacement in the left hand. Rt hand dexterity is about 80% tempo, left about 60%. Dang, this was easier when I was 15!
One of my favorite Police songs. These guys were amazing--all of them. Andy's guitar style was so far above most guitarists of the time. Sting always had a great, grooving bass line (on fretless here, no less). Stewart was jaw dropping--his energy and creativity here is amazing. He's all over the place, but keeps the groove going through it all.
Maybe it's just me, but I see Ginger Baker in Stewart Copeland's drumming style.. Fast, rudiment fills on the kit that keep time rather than arrest it. Brilliant.
Masoko Tanga At last we can agree on something. These fucking joker boy bands? I get so angry, them cunts making money because they can`t write a fucking decent fucking number. It insults Bowie Beethoven through to Zodiac Mind Warp. Yours pissed off, xx
The live songs are ruined when the tempo is faster than the studio recordings. Saw them in 83 at Syracuse, too fast to enjoy the listening. Great band … poor live shows
No wonder they were primus inter pares in this film. Clearly on the road to global domination. And probably helped the film get made or at least distributed.
I love seeing bands giving props to other bands by wearing their t shirts. You won't see that nowadays. Everyone's too high and mighty for humility. Screw these crappy contemporary 'bands'. Bring back real music!
The Police are kind of an enigma for me. I clearly see what great musicians they were, and are, what skilled tacticians of their respective instruments....and they clearly made great music, and a lot of it...but for some reason the music of the Police really doesn't resonate with me by and large...and I feel bad about that, but, oh the well
Copeland has to be in the discussion for one of the best drummers of all time!
Amen :)
I totally agree.
Nothing to discuss he is the best drummer of all time!
@@nuzi8047 confident much? 😂 calm down kid..
@@davidberman1310 that version gets me hyped up 🐐

Andy's guitar sounds like an organ on this track. So amazing, then, now, forever...
This is among Copeland's signature tracks showcasing his unique drumming technique, speed & creativity! I grew up listening to this genius!!!

The Police! My all time favorite band! Stewart Copeland is a beast on drums!
He is the King!
Great shots of the fills the fills by Stewart. You know a band is great when their live performance sounds BETTER than the studio!
One of Andy's greatest solos, live or studio, on this track. Flawless
The first time I heard this song my thoughts were that his is such a completely different kind of guitar solo like no other!
Nothing like Stewart Copeland. The Drum Master!

Back in the day when you could go to a concert to listen to MUSIC.
Great performance, but JFC, would I never want to be a drum in Stewart Copeland's set. He's positively BRUTAL on his equipment!
Greatest music movie ever! The bands that would set the bar that others would follow.
The bass in this mix is awesome!!!
my god this is pure energy !
Love the way Copeland beats the shit out of his drums. It's like a fight!
Holy God! I thought I lost these 2 cassettes in 1987! Whomever put this together, many thanks
That was good. Lucky enough to have seen them 3 times in their heyday and then for their last post-breakup tour. Love all their albums.
Copeland, the grand master. Police at their very best here.
You can hear how fast Stewart was on songs like Next To You and No Time This Time but to see it is amazing
a GREAT gem found! Thank you!
English Beat t-shirt; love it.
One of the best political faux reggae bands of my teenage years
Out of nowhere comes this song but life is such for some.
Thanks for the song!
Stewart is just tearing it up! Sting right in the pocket with him. What a rhythm section!!
Feliz cumpleaños Stewart Copeland que cumplas muchos más...🥁🎂👣👀
The Police forever!! ♡ love you Stewart
Great band, three great musicians 📻

Would like the Urgh! T shirt Stewart is wearing
No wonder they were primus inter pares in this film. Clearly on the road to global domination. And probably helped the film get made or at least distributed.
who are the 3 nerds that downvoted this?
The pitch on this song lower than the video clip of this song live... how?
これほど3人の演奏が際立つ曲は無いTHEpololiceの代表作でしょう😂
That was in Frejus yeah?
fuck - i got old
Is there some hidden member playing organ on this?
What the fuck Sting, the Police were SO GOOD!
What happened mate?
Why was this movie rated R when it’s just bands playing? I’ve never seen the whole thing.
What's the name of that song?
Driven to Tears
+Lina Jones Driven To Tears!
Marcelo Amorim
Yes "Driven to Tears" from Zenyatta Mondatta (their 3rd album).

Damn Stewart, how many pounds did you lose during that concert?
