  • NEW VIDEO 🎬 ADD NANOLEAF SCENES INTO HOMEKIT to get the most out of your Smart Home Lighting
    Did you know that you could add Nanoleaf Scenes and Light effects into Homekit? Well, you can and in this video, I'll show you how to get the most out of your smart lighting in your Homekit Smart Home. The Nanoleaf App includes some great light effects or what they call Scenes such as Beach Waves, Ripple and Northern Lights.
    In addition to using these with Nanoleaf Essentials bulbs and light strips, you can move the scenes from the Nanoleaf App into Homekit and from there you can even add other Smart Accessories as your normally would. Pretty awesome!

    The problem I have is that it says it can't do this with matter devices. I paired the latest Essentials Lightstrip via Home App and it then insisted I finished configuration in app (Thread). There seems no way to get a favourite into the settign due to the restriction.
    Any ideas, I'm desperate to get a 'Christmas' light show together with the HomePod playing Christmas songs..... Help!

    I just got Nanoleaf light bulb for our bedroom, and using main white light that will change based on time of day, but also want a "mood" lighting setting or scene. I turned on mood lighting, but then it stays on that purple color, and have to change it back if want white again. Is there a way around this, as I'm new to this bulb and scene. Sometimes may want mood lighting, but then want it to be standard white when the automation comes on at sunset or other time. Thanks

    G'day Brad! Lovely to meet you mate! I've been following your channel along the past couple of months. New to homekit myself but LOVING it! :-)
    Fast question / experience that I've got for you. I've tried Phillips Hue, Nanoleaf and LIFX. All with pros and cons.
    My question: When using the nanoleaf, other than a warm white do you find all the other colours muted? I compare the LIFX to the nanoleaf and the reds are terrible on the nanoleaf. Do you find the same thing????
    I love that the nanoleaf's have thread and from a 'no response' perspective. I have far less troubles with the nanoleaf.
    Keep up the great work with your channel! I'm loving the content! Take care!

      @TheBradLloyd  2 роки тому

      Hi Benjamin, thank you for watching and for the kind feedback!
      I haven't compared the Nanoleaf with LIFX, but I could see the reds being slightly muted, compared to Philips hue, but I would only notice it side by side.
      Thread definitely makes makes a big difference! I'm excited to see more Thread devices in the future.

    Great content. Really enjoy learning more about what I can do with HomeKit via your videos. After watching this, I tested 1 bulb out, and then bought 7 more. Love them. Have you had any disconnections issues with them via thread? I had 3 out of 8 that were disconnecting. I think I fixed them finally but curious if it’s just a “me” thing.

    • @TheBradLloyd
      @TheBradLloyd  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Andrew - these lights have all worked really well for me. Where I sometimes find issues is when I disconnect my HomePod minis (I'm constantly disconnecting/reconnecting my HomePod minis for testing), so sometimes I find it takes these lights a little time to fully adjust. Make sure you have the latest firmware and if you are still having issues try a factory reset.

    • @andrewmorris8531
      @andrewmorris8531 2 роки тому

      @@TheBradLloyd thank you. I think I found my issue. I was factory restarting them on one lamp, then setting them up, and then while turned on, unscrewing the bulb and moving it to a chandelier and kept having issues. Once I did a factory reset, set up, then turned off the light itself and then moved the bulb, no more issue so far. Crossing my fingers. Thank you!!

    Have you seen any issues with many Nanoleaf Essentials on Thread and more than one HomePod mini? I have 3 Homepods Minis and 24 bulbs and I’ve been seeing bulbs get stuck/delayed in “updating” in the Home app a lot.
    They respond instantly once connected but can’t be controlled in that state.
    Nanoleaf says it’s because of Apple’s HomePod Mini firmware, each HomePod that’s a Home Hub is constantly polling the bulbs for a connection. The bulbs only support so many connections at a time so the older ones drop off, and basically they’re stuck in this cycle.
    Really unfortunate. They said the only workaround right now is unplugging any other HomePod Minis than the first one.

    • @TheBradLloyd
      @TheBradLloyd  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Matthew. I have 6 minis and no issues. What I will say, is that when connecting/disconnect my HP minis (or if the power goes out for example) it sometimes takes awhile for my Thread devices to properly communicate again.
      Hopefully this can be fixed for you with a future update.

    • @matthewlangsottile6400
      @matthewlangsottile6400 2 роки тому
