Your points about a person’s plants reflecting how their life is going - is Sooo true! I’m a lifelong avid gardener ( of my own property) And recently I had health challenges & the death of a very very close loved one… And if you pulled up to my house you could see the magnificent garden I always keep, is beginning to show signs of “neglect” because of the recent life challenges. Boy, you’re good Angela!

As usual, you are so motivating!
My external clutter is a reflection, not so much of negative emotions, but of my cluttered mind. I’ve recently been diagnosed with ADHD as an adult. My living space has always been cluttered and disorganized although I don’t like it that way. It is such a challenge for me. It is very clearly what is in my mind - chaos! And it’s bad a cycle: The internal mind clutter, begets the cluttered surroundings, which is environmental noise, that adds more noise and clutter to the mind.
Everything you say here is excellent advice. I’m going to save this episode and listen again later. You are like a motivational speaker, therapist, and life coach all wrapped up in one!
P.S - I listened to the New Normal once overnight and the next day I did feel more energized, positive, and productive. Thank you for making it available, and thanks for the reminder to make use of it! 😊

Oh, how I relate to you. I'm adult diagnosed ADD. With the added responsibility of caregiver for my 80yo mother that requires extended trips to FL & a non-healthy elder husband and schizophrenic son. In the last 5y, I've actually been in my own home about 9mo. With all the traveling back n forth, I never get things put away from the last trip before I'm leaving again. I have 1 rm which is used for storage but now I've got stuff piled up everywhere from this last trip. I've been home for 1.5 wks, and I absolutely have clutter paralysis.

Quite a harrowing driving trip Angela. Thank you for reliving it through sharing to help express the way we need to go out of comfort zone on occasion, but then also to help ourselves manage when we are in positions that are out of our comfort zone. Its wise for listeners to use your experience as learning points for their life. We can keep down anxiety by knowing how to take care of our basic needs.
Then use our strengths and exercise the ability to think ahead of likely outcomes.
Then plan for extra time and rest and add them to the planned base time needed.

OMG Angela you’re the BEST! I’m so thankful I stumbled upon your book as I’m getting started with my solo cleaning business. I started taking your courses and watching your videos. You are the BEST in the business and I look forward to the knowledge I gain from you.
This video in particular is great because you mention the mini trampoline and going for walks which is already my advise for people to start getting movement into their busy/stagnate lives.
I’m also in the process of decluttering and organizing my own home so I can be the most efficient version of myself and run my business as smoothly as yourself.

So sorry about the death! My thoughts and condolences.
And let me tell you, it is so apparent where my mind and mental 'cleanliness' is at times when I look at my home, even my personal self-care. It is very true that a cluttered mind translates. Also, when my home or life get too 'messy' and cluttered it effects good mental state.
We had a traumatic event happen in November that really pushed me back in a lot of ways (my little boy was out of town on a weekend vacation with his grandparents. Just so happens that I got a call one morning of a child crying, screaming, sounded like my kiddo saying that he'd just been 'picked up' and he was scared. Some mean man then got on the phone and proceeded to tell me he'd just kidnapped my son and was trying to extort money out of me, threatening if I didn't do exactly what he said (as well as stay calm (!) and treat him with respect (can you believe it?) that he would k*ll my little boy....it was a mess. It turned out to be a vicious extortion scam, and it went on for almost an hour because my partner couldn't get ahold of my son's grandparents so we thought they were looking for him, calling the police, etc... we had to call police, talk to the FBI...and I legit have diagnosed PTSD from it.
My house has gotten in disarray after that. I also stopped going out of the house, have nightmares about my son being taken, I work from home and I didn't even do that after. I'm getting into a better place, so I'm starting my Spring Cleaning early. Thank you for all of your advice, tips, and good council on your channel!!!

Please take this with all due respect, but I love that I found you today. I've binged listened to 3 or 4 shows already. I totally agree on the movement and eating whole foods. Thank you for your infinite wisdom....I think you've taken some psychology classes,! I'm not a hoarder, but I have too much stuff, and I have many things of my parents, after they died. I am in a position where I can afford vintage and antique glassware, esp rose bowl and vases for my beautiful flowers I grow...... But now things need to leave my house, like you said about enjoying them for the season you own things..... Thank you.

Thank you for your kind words and enthusiasm! I'm glad to hear that you found our conversations insightful and relatable. It's wonderful that you share an appreciation for movement and whole foods. Regarding your belongings, it's understandable to have sentimental attachments to items. It's important to find a balance between enjoying and cherishing those possessions while also recognizing when it's time to let go. Decluttering can create a more organized and peaceful living space. Remember, the act of letting go can be liberating and make room for new experiences and memories. Thank you for your gratitude, and if you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

I just recently realized I worked myself like a robot ! I'm still very clean but I had to stop a long pattern I had . Like it's okay to shower before you clean . ? what to do if a customer begins to text flirtatious messages?

    • @AskAngelaBrown
      @AskAngelaBrown  Рік тому +1

If you encounter a situation where a cleaning customer begins sending flirtatious messages via text, it's crucial to handle the situation with professionalism and establish clear boundaries. Respond to the messages in a polite and professional manner, avoiding any flirtatious or suggestive responses. Redirect the conversation back to the topic of cleaning and remind the customer of the professional nature of your relationship. If the flirtatious messages persist, firmly but politely communicate your discomfort and express that you prefer to keep the communication strictly related to the cleaning service. It's important to document any inappropriate messages or incidents, including dates and times, for future reference. If you work for a cleaning company, inform your employer or supervisor about the situation and seek their guidance and support. Should the behavior persist and make you feel uncomfortable despite your efforts, it may be necessary to consider terminating the client relationship to prioritize your safety and well-being. Remember, maintaining professionalism and protecting your boundaries are essential in any work environment. Hope this helps, good luck!
