They are doing well but the only problem is when they make everything Nigerian. That is being greedy. They concocted something like Afrobeat Amapiano to claim Amapiano for themselves. By doing so they are diluting their own original Afrobeat sound and that is not cool.That is how far being greedy can take you, to the point of loosing your own identity. Fortunately the whole world know the original sound of Amapiano come from South Africa and not Nigeria. Nobody is disputing the originality of Afrobeat either. South African artists have been winning Grammys from time immemorial. Remember bra Hugh Masekela, Mariam Makeba, Black Mambaso and more. Tyla winning is not a new thing, the only difference is she took the music industry by storm at a young age by winning that Grammy award and yet she is not acknowledged by Nigerians even if she does acknowledge their contribution. They want to own everything. God cannot allow greedy and selfishness.

Lemme educate you real quick, it’s not enough to have a big song like tshwala bam or mwaki, the Grammys criteria states that song itself has to be released and distributed in the US , there’s also time frame that the release must fit into for it to be considered. So anyone who wants to have their work considered must fit into the criteria that has been set , the artists and their fans need to educate themselves on the process. Look at all the nominees and point out one that didn’t meet the set criteria, it’s like an external examiner setting exam questions with the instruction that questions 1 & 2 are compulsory but you skip them only to complain that you failed the exam, who’s at fault tho? How many kwaito , house or amapiano artists have distribution deals in the US? how many even submitted their work for consideration?
