I want to thank you Victoria, i am 12 and i got my Russian dwarf hamster during lockdown. At the time she had a 340 square inch enclosure, 4 inches of bedding, a 5 inch wheel and 3 accessories. I have had her for almost 2 years now and she now has an 800 square inch enclosure, 11 inches of bedding, a 11 inch wheel, herbs and a more varied food mix, cork log, sand bath and all the necessary enrichments a hamster needs. Thank you for teaching me and making my hamsters life- although small- much happier.
Also feed them with insects, dwarf hamsters need insects because they are omnivores while Syrian are more herbivores although they can also eat insects and digest them

This vid is awesome. It proves the basis for proper care and is an answer to basically all of the hamster arguments that come up: Why hamsters need large cages Why they are solitary Why they need to burrow Why they need to be enriched It also sheds light on the bad breeding situation coming from pets in petstores bred by rodent mills. And it clears up the differences and classifications of each domesticated specie! Dude, I need to show this to everyone who is thinking of getting one or who already has a hamster. I know the first russian dwarf I had was purebred. However, I just got my new girl today. Pepper is beautiful and she looks like a campbell but not totally.
