@@AlieTheUnicorn preferably no. An appropriate enclosure takes up a lot of room from a table. They also are nocturnal and would probably not appreciate the noise you make throughout the day

I want to thank you Victoria, i am 12 and i got my Russian dwarf hamster during lockdown. At the time she had a 340 square inch enclosure, 4 inches of bedding, a 5 inch wheel and 3 accessories. I have had her for almost 2 years now and she now has an 800 square inch enclosure, 11 inches of bedding, a 11 inch wheel, herbs and a more varied food mix, cork log, sand bath and all the necessary enrichments a hamster needs. Thank you for teaching me and making my hamsters life- although small- much happier.

This vid is awesome. It proves the basis for proper care and is an answer to basically all of the hamster arguments that come up:
    Why hamsters need large cages
    Why they are solitary
    Why they need to burrow
Why they need to be enriched
It also sheds light on the bad breeding situation coming from pets in petstores bred by rodent mills.
And it clears up the differences and classifications of each domesticated specie!
Dude, I need to show this to everyone who is thinking of getting one or who already has a hamster.
You even put links in the description for sources!!
It's like a reaaallllly well put together research project!
    Well done!! 👏👏👏👏👏

I've owned Syrians, Campbell's, winter whites, and hybrids. I can't stress the importance of keeping them alone. I tried to house a pair of hybrids and they fought as soon as I brought them home. That led to separation of the two. they also had extreme neurological issues and health issues. I purchased them from a pet store and their genes were dirtier than my grandmas mind. Also Victoria, thanks for all these videos. I've been a sub since I was 9 and you helped me give my hamsters a good life. you also helped me inspire others to change their care. it's a domino effect. Thanks you!

I know the first russian dwarf I had was purebred. However, I just got my new girl today. Pepper is beautiful and she looks like a campbell but not totally.
She is more rounded as more of a cute short button nose than that of a mouse. She has a thick line on her back and a lot of her physical features more so resemble winter white
the fact that I've done the comparisons I have no idea , coupled with the fact I got her from PETCO probably means she very well might be a hybrid

I had an accidental litter of hybrid dwarfs once, and due to many reasons, I had to keep all the pups. Almost all of the pups had either some sort of aggression, weight issues, and/or neurological problems. For example, one of them was obese, couldn't seem to lose weight, and was extremely aggressive, and another had a neurological problem that made them incapable of peeing, they had to be put down by our vet. Almost all of them died before their 1st birthday. We need to stop supporting pet stores and their breeding of hybrids.

My hybrid is currently starting his second coat change since we got him. It's so funny because his eye brows are always first to change and it gives him such expression. lol

Thank you so much for this video!🙏 In our country (Czech republic) the only species I saw were Golden (Syrian) hamster or djungarian and I was so confused, because you never mentioned the name djungarian before. Now I finally know and I'm so glad, I know exactly, what my species is. You Are amazing Victoria, sending love💗

I learned so quickly that robos were the fastest species of hamster. My sister had gotten a winter white and I had gotten a robo dwarf. When I looked inside the carrier for my robo dwarf, she was running in circles so fast that I couldn’t see her. She was definitely the light of my life when I had her ❤️

Awesome video, super cool! Over my hamster care I have owned a male Russian blue Campbell’s dwarf named Bailey and a female golden Syrian hamster named Honey. And I have watched a beautiful male winter white for 2 months when my friends went on vacation. I love my hamster and I am looking forward to continuing my hamster care! Also you are like my favorite UA-camr. You have helped me so much I started watching your videos and I have upgraded my cages to 780sq in and 7-10 inches of bedding as well as 11 in wheel for my Syrian and 8 in for my past dwarf hamster. Also you have helped educate me and they also eat the sunburst and mazuri food mix. So thank you so much for helping me improve.

I had a hamster, Pepper, who lived to be 3 years, she was a Winter white-Campbell’s hybrid mix. She was the sweetest baby in the world and most spoiled.
