- [Post Edit] First 2 minutes of video has been removed due to local dealer holding reservation to the recording. My sincere apologies. I should have asked permission before uploading to UA-cam. My intent was to merely provide substantial evidence that the saving I am claiming is genuine.
I’ll show you how to remove both wheels off your #R1200GS and negotiate the best possible price to have your tyres fitted locally.
#BMW #Motorrad quoted me £340 inc vat to fit a pair of Bridgestone A41’s. I managed to source the Tyres from www.blackcircles.com for £180 and got them fitted locally for £5 per tyre. Saving me over a whopping £140.00........GET IN!

Only thing to add On the front axle, you Should only tighten the pinch bolts after you have bounced the bike to (with the ignition on) to let the forks align themselves on the axle.
Thanks for the vid, good to see how others are tackling this project. Be well.
Great job dude,Thanks for the video.
Greetings .
Good video. I just did both wheels myself today. It’s quite satisfying to do your own work. Cheers.
I bought a tyre changer from a chap in Poland, having previous done them by hand. It works a bit like a professional tyre changer, but it manual and not electric or hydraulic. A life saver and after the initial cost of the machine, I will recoup the cost after my second tyre change. You do need an adaptor for the GS rear wheel, which he also sells, which mounts the rear wheel in the changer. It’s also used for the wheel balance as well. I’ve got some Avon Trailriders to fit this weekend, bargain buy online, so ill let you know how i get on.
My dealer charges $150 and will only fit the small selection of tires they have, not the ones I want. I just use the Abba Skylift to lift the bike and a No-Mar tire changer to change them myself.

What grease to use on the axel ? 😁
thank you ..all info always good and tyres in uk way cheaper than in Canada........and BMW charge C$130.... 75Pounds Sterling also bike and car insurance is at least double.....yikkies EH!
Can I install clearwater erica and denali d2 together please reply me
Thanks Sir
Nice job
I always take loose wheels to the tyre geezers and it's surprising what you find on the bike with the wheels off. I always clean up the brake callers etc whilst they're off. That is the cheapest tyre fitting I have ever heard of. Thanks for filming and posting and don't listen to the dickheads.
Good video, but I will just pay the extra and believe it is well worth it to remove the hassle!
My 18 GS is 19 mil as well.
You seen to be putting a lot of effort on the rear wheel bolts, they should be 60nm get yourself down the Gym lol
I'm all for doing everything myself, but my nerves wouldn't hold out with £18k of my bike on axle stands 🙄
You thought the price they quoted you was outrageous? Unpaid $395 USD for a pair of Dunlop Trailmax tyres and the store wanted to charge me $220 USD just to mount them! What do you think? 🙄
£36.00 to change 2 tyres is expensive. What on earth are you talking about that is so cheap what company would do that not worth their time. You cheap skate
