DON NEWCOMB
This video also gives a hint of the construction going on at Windy Hill Foundry and will be covered in a separate video in the near future.
Be sure to check out Steve Watkins channel where he covers this in more detail.
PS: THERE WERE NO HORSES INJURED IN THIS VIDEO - Наука та технологія
I like this group of guys who just wanted to help. This is the epitome of a neighborhood community that helps each other and that's why I love living in small communities.
Leo and crew need a bottle of Balderdash for the next Duchess of Desire commercial, and to keep in that beautiful liquor cabinet on the boat. Great job by all on the capstan. American perseverance and ingenuity at its best.
I guess they do not cast in Germany or South Africa???
It has nothing to do with America and your comment has nothing to do with patriotism.
BTW: These guys look like a bunch of old English buddies.
I hope you put a witness mark in the casting or Keith will engrave the date of casting and location so in the next hundred years there is a record Thank you for such attention to the detail and keeping American foundry work going.
No apologies required. Really appreciate seeing the effort to create another key part for Tally Ho.
Congratulations! Your persisting paid the dividends. Well done. Can't think of any other UA-cam video with so much tension.
Has anyone told Leo?
Friends, can't have enough good friends! Thanks to all for your contributions!
Hoorah! Awesome casting!
Watching from New Zealand. Well done, congratulations and cheers gentlemen.
Congratulations on getting this done Clark. Your persistence paid off. I reckon Keith will be really nervous machining this one 🙂
I don't think so because they're going to use one of the failed attempts as a trial prototype to do the initial machining on.
many old hands make light work, nicely done and congrats to Clark and the team!
„Boulderdash“ fits right in with the advertisement Leo is running on his channel. 😂
Leo is going to be giving cruises to a whole lot of people for a very long time to pay back all this effort.
Congratulations on this job, well done.
I was thinking the same, I hope he does.
Remember the welder( sorry, name? ) who did these incredible fuel tanks
and introduced himself, mimicking Leo, as a boat builder and NOT a sailor
They were comments that maybe Leo could fix that.
Thank you all for this awesome job. Patience in action! ❤
Clark, Congratulations on your success. Despite all the hurdles and setbacks you encountered, You did it and it looks great. You’ll have the satisfaction of seeing it installed and operating on the Tally Ho. Good Job and hats off to you and your crew!
Good group of guys and don't forget the cook 😊 nice job everyone
Never, ever forget the cook!
You fine people produced an item that will be in use way longer than any of you will be around...That must be satisfying and make you proud in it self...Hundreds will trample and sweat and sing around that capstan during coming years.
Thanks for reminding us old folks of our mortality. At my age, I avoid getting a 'lifetime supply' of most anything. I get a bit nervous when it looks like I'm about to run out.
God bless you, Clark, for your patience, persistence, and efforts. I know Leo appreciates it, as do his tens of thousands of followers and all your followers. Congratulations to you and all your assistants!
Amazing old fashion craftsmanship for an old world project. Tally Ho is even more authentic due to your nearly lost art of casting.
Perseverance defined!
Something younger generations could learn a lot from.
America unfortunately should never have lost these skills.
Good Job!
Wonderful! Fabulous! Super Fantastic! Hooray to Clark and all the supporting crew.
Amazing work. In this CNC world, traditional techniques still have a huge contribution to make.
Amazing work!!
I think that your perseverance is amazing, and that the Tally Ho crew are down right fortunate to have You,all doing this for them. Well done boys well done!
Nice work. It's clear this was a difficult project and it's great to see you have a lot of good friends to help out.
Thank you for your videos. It’s always good to see smiles. That’s when you know the job was done right.😊
Congratulation’s! Good ole Mississippi and Georgia boys to the rescue!
And Steve from Texas of course. Can’t leave him out. Are there any more states involved in this interesting project?
@@ellieprice363 Absolutely! Not sure, I just know Clarke and Keith...but everyone volunteering deserves a big hand in this historic casting effort, and capstan restoration for Tally Ho.

The agony and the ecstasy! You’ll be a prominent piece of a magnificent vessel. BRAVO.
Congratulations! Love the way you work and the persistence to get it done properly, thanks so much for sharing the story with us!
Thanks, Clarke. A man getting a hand from his friends. Nice.
After all that you must have a real feeling of accomplishment. Congratulations to all of you.
That's how America was built : Patience and hard-work . Congrats Clarke and Team ! ..... you make us ol' boys proud !
Unusual comment bearing in mind the original was cast in England over 100 years ago.
So glad to see this being completed! Your persistence was worth it, for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing it go on the Tally Ho. Congratulations!
Good job, Clark and all you guys that helped.
Awesome job Clarke and the rest of the team! I enjoyed watching the videos and perform the problem solving needed to get a poured casting that met your standards of your foundry. Shops like yours are essential to historical restorations and I commend you for your persistence and determination to see this job done through to the end. I look forward to watching more content on your channel. The B17 parts sounds like it will be a fun watch as well. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much, Clark and crew, for contributing to Tally Ho! I'm about five miles from where she's being rebuilt and can't wait to see the capstan on her deck! Hope some of you can come up here to Port Townsend for the launch, whenever that happens!
what a beautiful piece,,,BMFs you are
The more vents the better for me. 10 when pouring Sterling silver chopsticks. It/they make for a lot mor clean-up but finishing great. Lots for the files and rarely ever a fail due to trapped air being a problem. Awesome to see the win Clark. Thanks from all of us. What a great bunch of fellas there helping as they can.
There is a famous quote from John Steinbeck's "Cannery Row"; "Why don't you just give up." It is very informative to watch you keep going after each problem pour. I don't call them a failed pour because they weren't failures, they were part of the process it took to gain the knowledge to accomplish to final results. This is a good lesson in perseverance. Thanks
Congratulations! Sorry for anyone that gave you a hard time with the video spacing. I think you did a great job and I always just happy to see your videos when they pop up. 😊
Well done Clarke, Looks great.

Congratulations Clark! Proof of the adage, "if at first you don't succeed..."
Loved watching you all make this a success - the giggles along the way and the talent you have together for 'gettin' it done!' - Thank you - Leo and his team will have a first-rate job for Tally Ho because of you and your efforts.

you are not milkingit. it is a huge job as it is obvious . great work 💥guys
Congrats Been a long road to this.
This ordeal has been interesting both in terms of how casting works and how anonymity makes some people awful or just shows their true colors
How is that?

Yes there’s always one or two that will snipe and complain about not using metric or something else while watching a free video (to them) from their comfortable easy chair.
Great job! 😊
Finally! The most anticipated video on the internet!
What a great bunch of blokes to work with . They all have great big bellies and bigger smiles and good attitudes and a wealth of knowledge about metal working and of life.
Thanks for your great work for Tally Ho, I really enjoy seeing specialists doing their work and the intricacies involved in tasks that can appear so simple when you only see the finished article
Great job guys. I know this was very frustrating to cast but your hard work paid off.
The Best of America, when all we see is infighting and dissension. This is what made American manufacturing industry world-beating. Where are the youngsters to take the baton from these heroes? (failing is on the path to succeeding - all you guys made success happen) BTW 'eyeball it' means 'use all my long acquired skill'. Thanks!
Well done fellas!
Awesome, great work dedicated to perfection.
It's been well worth the journey. Thank you.
I'm thinking a few beers were shared amongst old friends!
I had no idea doing a job like this was so involved! Well done gentlemen!
Woo Hoo! CONGRATULATIONS
