Just found your channel and can’t stop watching. Love the way you brings us through these steps that you easily miss when listening to today’s pop music. I would love for you to do a tutorial on doing sample instruments from vocals. So you can chop up entire phrases and jam with them. Something like how Kygo did on the drop inte the chorus of Higher love. Keep up the good work! 👌👍
Awesome video! Really digging the classic 80's electro pop vibe. I'd love if you could show how you produced the background track! Keep up the good work
Another great video. Thanks Austin! Also re: doublers, Antares’ Duo works great and for Tube saturation they have the Warm plug-in. And in all transparency, yeah I work there. 😃.
Welcome back!!! For ideas: could we see your input on recording/processing/layering acoustic guitars vs the same for electrics...interested in what plugins you use. You referenced in the Billie Eilish vid that if you were to release the track you’d actually record guitar so I’m curious about your approach there. Good to have you back man, and keep at the drunk cooking vids too! 🤘🏻👏🏻
It's hard to put all of that in a video. We have done it in our How to Make an Ariana Grande Song and the How to Make a Billie Eilish Song videos. But we have a course on our site that is like 4-5 hours and shows every step of the process from start to finish!
@@MakePopMusic Thanks for the reply. I already take your course on sonic academy How To Make Pop with Austin Hull. Really learned a lot and enjoyed a lot on that. I will take more one forsure.
This tut made me sub to your channel (altho i'm not into pop music) :) Loving the fact you re telling _why_ you are doing stuff, not just listing down what plugs you are using. Well done mate! :)
Cubase has a sampler as well that is great! I love it for vocal chops similar to Dj Snake or Dua Lipa. I always go by hand when I want a little more control and finesse.
YO! Hope you had a nice break :D was actually just what I was looking for so thanks! Would you consider doing a vid on drum fills? Especially those tom transitions? Bless ya dude!
Hey Austin, I discovered your channel a few days ago and im loving your content. I was wondering how you're able to have all the project tracks i.e) instrument tracks & vocal tracks all in one project without your computer dying on you. It doesn't even look like you've rendered/flattened some of the tracks which you would've used some intensive synthesizers on. Im so confused. Do i just need to upgrade my computer which can brute through all the processing power? Thanks in advance to anyone who can fill me in.
I actually made a video all about my computer if you wanna see what my setup is! I had this problem with my old computer but since I upgraded I haven't had many problems! ua-cam.com/video/xC6EyQhnurI/v-deo.html
Yoaw. welcome back and thanks... This tutorial really will help out !! I've been missing this "layer" to my mixes. I really want to make things exciting, but always doubt. This is great. Question, how would you add such "layering" to drums?
BRO!!!!! WHAT Mic did you use for this vocal you recorded?!?!? It sounds sooo good!!! I'm looking at getting either the sm7b or vms for my next mic. Yours almost sounds like it was recorded through the c800 of the vms. Please tell me how you processed that vocal that you got the chop from and if so what your signal chain was going in!!! That shit sounds FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey man I love the videos and I learn a lot even tho I use a different DAW. I was wondering if u could make a video like this specifically for Logic Pro X if you use it. Much appreciate it and keep up the good work!!!
Great great mix, great tutorial! Could anyone tell me how the bass drum beat makes the rest of the mix (the synth etc.) blend out when it hits? Or at least tell me what that phenomenon is called? Some kind of compression? Thanks!
@@MakePopMusic Thanks so much for your answer! I've just found your channel and can't believe how helpful it is. Guess I'm going to spend the next couple weeks catching up on all your content. Much appreciated!
Could you please switch in Cubase to the colors in VariAudio follows unique note-colors as in MIDI? Yes, it is brilliant in Cubase, I work a lot better and faster thanks to these colors, where F has yellow, A pink, B purple etc.
Austin your videos are dope bro. It's really helping me in my music production. Would love to send some of my music to your email so that you can help advise me on my music production. Much Respect from Solomon Islands.

Brb sending you your tuition invoice.
Welcome back dude! You deserved a break man.
Thank you! It was nice, but we were working hard! Excited to show everyone what we were working on!

Crazy staff, man. Cool
Good workaround in Cubase! Logic has a really nice exs24 convert to sampler instrument which makes it super easy in logic.

how many hours do you produce diary?
6-8 on my workdays. Been producing for about 5 years and been doing it full time for about 3 and a half.
can you do this beat in fl studio..and what is the best for pop and rap fl studio or cu base please
You can use any DAW to create this. In FL you have Newtone that you can use to edit the vocal chops so they hit the notes you want :)
