- Rabbi Yaron Reuven, in this shiur, explains the concept of Emunah and Bitachon using an analogy. He describes a woman who is waiting to marry a prince charming, but has many obstacles in her path. She has to resolve debts and close down businesses, delaying her marriage. This delay is a test of her faith in the prince's commitment to her.
The prince, knowing she is struggling, files a class-action lawsuit against her. This appears like a setback, but it's actually a solution. The prince removes all obstacles, allowing the woman to be completely free and finally marry him. The same concept applies to our relationship with HaShem. He wants us to have Emunah and Bitachon, but He also knows that tests are necessary for us to grow. The challenges we face are not punishments, but rather opportunities to strengthen our faith and move closer to Him.

If you watch the story of his life, you'll see that he grew up mostly in the US, and he wasn't observant when he was young.
