I like listening to you, it’s like having a studio mate that I like being around. You’re the perfect combo of creative and technical with a tone that is not too slow or repetitive. Thank you!
I’m 73, I don’t have enough years left in me to spend a year on a twill gamp! 😂. You do, and yours is lovely! I took up weaving about 8 years ago and only wish I’d started sooner. It’s a wonderful art. I love your videos….just discovered them today. Thank you!
Absolutely!!! I wish I started sooner too! There will never be enough time to make all the things I’d like to make 😆 wishing you happy weaving!! Thanks for watching!
As an octogenarian I prefer to keep several types of projects going at a time (i.e., spinning/weaving/knitting) so I can switch between them during the day to avoid getting muscle aches from doing one thing for too long. My physical therapist suggested I not spend more than an hour doing any one thing without taking a break.
I did this for twills in cotton several years ago. I made them as tea towels. So fun to see the variations in texture and design. I need to do this for some more complicated designs. Stretch my horizons a bit more again. Seeing this video is motivating me. How awesome!
I like the look of the twill gamp- so good for things like a baby blanket ( sort of a patchwork quilt effect- ) and thanks for the tip on the wet finishing. Can’t really get bamboo threads here though( Switzerland) not too common here. Merino is really easy though.
I’d like to start by saying that I absolutely love your videos. You are so knowledgeable and your voice is so soothing. I have just started weaving; I started on a rigid heddle loom and quickly moved to the floor loom. I am completely hooked! I bought a used Loomcraft loom from my weaving teacher, and just set it up yesterday. I can’t wait to get going and I have many ideas for projects dancing through my head. This video helped me to realize that taking the time to practice and make samples and gamps is really valuable. So, I hereby vow to regularly make samples and gamps. I also just signed up to the School of Sweetgeorgia. So excited! I’ll be seeing you around. 🤗
If I was as far into weaving asyou are -- I would have one of each possible reed for each loom I use. Reeds are vital tools. They are specially, and pricey, yes... and for the job they do , they are the proper tool. Proper tools, do their job best.
Will the double weave courses be how to double width? Or how to double weave designs/patterns on standard width? Would love how to double width and mor than just plain weave on double width @
Hay can you link the bamboo yarn for us please I would love to get some for myself to test for weaving as well I love your videos and your audio is a bit off if you want to check it out I'm not sure why but I just wanted to let you know and have a wonderful time with your newest weave
Thanks! Yes, this is the Bambu 7: www.silkcityfibers.com/products/copy-of-bambu-7gg and thanks for letting me know about the audio... it's been a challenge lately, I think my mic is failing me!

Good for you. Weaving is a commitment! Thank you for keeping at it. This craft needs to be promoted!
I think it's great to spend time on learning and mastering a skill! Good for you!! 👍
Nice content. The sound was strange, like echo bumping from one side to the other.

sound is messed up
Easier to listen with headphones, with only one ear in.
