I was just thinking today about how this time three years ago, I was struggling with SAD and low Vitamin D. I got a prescription and a plant. Three years later, I have over 100 plants and I haven't had SAD symptoms in years! I live in beauty that I have curated and it's so rewarding. I now LOVE sweeping my floors. I dust everything (thanks to spider mites and thrips). I have better boundaries. I love my home and my life. Do I have too many plants? Absolutely. Am I gonna quit plants? NEVAH
Money well spent. Every year I watch my garden get healthier, more vibrant, more full of life, more of a space of shade and a place of solace and a place to share.
I really appreciate your videos from the mother land!! Your efforts to keep up your plants is appreciated and apparent by the beautiful flowers of your garden. Thanks for your humorous delivery as well. Please keep them coming 🙏 ❤
YESSS!!! I can’t count how many times I’ve toppled over a pot and got so frustrated!! 😅 And I have to clean it up right away. It’s such a PAIN for sure. 😂
Hello Friend. Yes, yes and yes. I love the truth humor and could not agree more. I’ve got about 200 plants, only spider mites once over many years. I love this hobby, but do feel, overwhelmed at times. When my mother died, it is what kept me going. Now 15 yrs later and I’m still at it. I recently started to downsize (can’t stop propagating) by combining plants and a no plant buy (122 days and counting). Love the humor. I’m in the USA, we need to laugh before the crying starts. Tfs
122 days? That is incredible! For you! 🤣 I am working on it. It’s getting more manageable. I too mostly enjoy the propagation and struggle with finding space. I’ve started giving a lot of plants to friends and coworkers- so much joy in that
It does give a dopamine boost and tell you find some bugs then you’re like dang what’s happening and then you discover a new bloom and then the dopamine goes back up
Good Evening Ebuka!!! Yes I will admit I became addicted to getting my hands on every plant I could get! My plant babies make me smile..until Its time to tend to them🤦♂️...I have gifted a few to my friends so they can experience the love. I truly love your honesty and all you share...the good..the bad and the ugly😊
Gifting plants is the gift you gift yourself while thinking you’re actually gifting someone else! 🤣 so lovely though- and sometimes, sometimes! You win a friend over and they begin their treacherous journey into the depths of plant collection
Thankfully, I haven't had to deal with Agama Lizards😅 I've been dealing with Thrips for a while now, but I do feel that I'm finally getting ahead of them. It's never ending! 😩
Maybe you like them too much? I’ve killed many a plant for lack of basic watering/soil requirements, but the majority of my 💀 plants were killed out of kindness.
Can I just say i greatly appreciate you working hard and uploading multiple videos a week because truly it makes me so happy to chill with you in my home while i do my daily routine. Really feels like we’re just friends hanging out. Thank you Ebuka you icon! 💚
I totally agree! I been in the gardening game for many years, and I love them! I garden inside and out, most of the year, and I wouldn't have it no other way. In my area, we are very humid, and we may have two, or 3 freezes a year. We have very mild winters, so I'm able keep a lot of houseplants outside, most of the year. And you are right, it's not cheap!
I feel you!! If I could go back in time and talk to my past self I would tell myself which succulents I enjoy now and which ones NOT to get that have been horrible. And YES it is expensive!! My grow light shelves set up has added UP. Of course it was a slow over time investment but I don’t even want to know the total dollars I have spent on top of all the Echeverias I have bought on Etsy. 😂
Hi Ebuka, thanks for your video, it’s very truly said! 😊 I love plants and I wouldn’t change it for anything because it gives me a lot of happiness. But, yeah it is addictive 😢 Like you said I have broke the law, that normally I wouldn’t. I have brought some little plants from Mexico, yes they were in my car and the American customs didn’t check on my car, so…. Yes, they crossed border with me. I love small little plants & I enjoy them seeing them grow… hope God excuse me for that 😊 thanks Ebuka… I think we must look the good side. I love plants ❤❤❤❤ like everybody does 😘
Omg the money spent is ridiculous! I started thrifting my decorative pots because nobody has the coin for new ceramic pots every time you get a new plant baby 😂😂😂 Great video love your content!
Yesss, I went to Home Depot and was like hell no. Something told me to go to Goodwill and I found a gold metal coffee table and turned it into a planter
Right now my garden is asleep winter is approaching. Some plants make it through some don’t so I have to replenish and yea it can get expensive but that’s the price u pay for having a garden in America. At the end of the day it makes me happy soooo…😂🤣❤
Greetings from NJ my friend. Plants help me believe in life after life. Dying plant baby, take some snips and then..... new life! I now have about 120 in my tiny space. They have taken over my life in the best way.
Loved this video!!! And yes clean clean clean!!! I bought a shop vacuum just to clean up Pon and all my messes! It works great to clean the widow sills too! Thanks for the giggles too! 😂❤
They are definitely demanding. Like you checked them the day before and they are fine and then you walk by them a day later and they are flopping like an Italian footballer on the pitch, screaming "Oh god, I'm so thirsty, I need water, I'm DYING".
Ebuka, if almost all of my plants are outside and in the ground, unfortunately most of the time I can pretend they don’t exist and buy more seeds and get more plants😢😂
The banned plant icon speaks nothing BUT THE TRUTH. Speak our truth sis. I'm so glad someone understands my Facebook marketplace plant obsession 😂🌿. It's got me on a chokehold and I'm ok with it. ❤
So funny, but so true. When I got into plants, I realized why my mom kept spare planters. They can get expensive, they usually cost more than the plants I've just purchased. I try to repurpose whatever I can to substite buying too many plant accessories.
I was think the same exact thing the other day....my plants are becoming overwhelming so I decided to take a break from propagating and buying plants....my life needs a break babes ...
I know how to get free cuttings, soil I can get for one euro or from the garden, pots can be candle holder and plastic yoghurt packages or bottles.. but I definitely can tell that collecting plants can be overwhelming and I don't like collecting them - I like to make a community of my plants in which every plant has its place.
Your pests ARE gangsta! Although, my plants I put outside in the summer have to contend with white tailed deer 🦌. Hungry beasts. But at least I can see them coming. 😉
1. Let nobody lie to you babes, this hobby is expensive (Holy Grail) 2. Pests…Hate them…Especially snails 🐌. I’m screaming 🗣️, not pests being GANGSTA 🤣 3. Messy. I don’t know if it’s the plants or just me 😆 4. Work, Work, Work, work. I’m under the Hot 🥵 Florida Sun. 5. Addictive. 😫 Hi! My Name is (inserts) and I’m addicted to horticulture 🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏽♀️
- Costs a lot of money - 60% of the hobby is pest treatment - 70% of your life is cleaning up messes - The amount of work isn’t cute (plants demand work or they will look busted and crusted) - Plants are addictive and we become obsessive (more bills for psychological help) Sounds like a terrible hobby And still we love it 😂🤣
Oooooh! What are some other terrible hobbies? Most of my hobbies are not as stress inducing as plants 🤣 but also do not bring me as much satisfaction consistently.
@ Terrible hobbies, I don’t know, haven’t tried any 😅. I guess anything that is hyped on social media… that makes us compare our results to others results and leads us to be dissatisfied? Im happy with plants…. If I stay within my limit 😉, its a very satisfying hobby 🌱🌸
I'm not sure I'd survive making eye contact with a Agama lizard much less wrestling a screaming Calathea outta its hands. Knowing me I'd pass out and Jurassic Park IV would take place and that thing would pop my head off like a dandelion. That being said I 100% agree that my plants made me a neat freak. I have them in complete order so they aren't in anyones way or that anyone could complain that they looked like a abandoned shack ready to fall off a cliff side. Also I don't buy anything so "RARE" where you have to sell a organ to own it. If* you are looking at a stick with a node on it and you're explaining it out in car payments it might be time ☎for a therapist. ☎ 🪴🪴🪴🦎🦎🦎 that lizard is gonna haunt my dreams!!!!
You made my day 😂😂😂😂 best plant youtuber I said what I said ❤❤❤❤
Aww thanks so so much !!!
And you made my day with this comment too
He’s awesome! That’s for sure. He makes me giggle. And such great tips for any plant person. ❤

Money well spent. Every year I watch my garden get healthier, more vibrant, more full of life, more of a space of shade and a place of solace and a place to share.
Love it for you 💚
I have NEVER regretted money spent on my plant hobby. Not me. Nope. My partner has regretted my decisions in my stead.
@@hanstera_deliciosa good thing for me I'm partner less or I would have similar issues.

100% right! I love my plants, spend 💵, and is still over joyed by looking at them everyday
Yes. You have to put in the time otherwise it’s a waste of time to start in the first place.
YESSS!!! I can’t count how many times I’ve toppled over a pot and got so frustrated!! 😅

I go the other way. Let it sit for as long as possible until all of the pests decide there’s nothing else to see here
