Good job,but next time let the cup fill up more and lightly tap in the cone... And never pat it down with your hands... You want it fluffy and when it's packed you lose that. Also I saw another one asking about servings and this unit is good for 15-40 a day. The motor is not big enough to handle a lot. FYI
Hey thx for the video . I'm thinking about opining a micro business soon for shaved iced . Do you think little snowie will do the work? Can it serve around 100 cup or so ? I also want to know if i got a block ice shaver, Do I have to worry about the block getting melt ? What's your advice ?
The little snowie might be able to handle that volume but it really depends on how many customers you will be serving at once. If you have alot of people in line it might be a little to small because the ice chamber isnt all that big. You will have to keep refilling the ice and this might cause you issues with tempering the ice or using ice that's already melting. The block ice shaver would work out better for you since the ice block would take longer for it to melt vs the little cubes which melt alot faster. If it were me I would choose a block shaver over the little snowie 2.
@@tonybuddy123 I have a freezer so ice cubes getting melt isn't an issue for me. But ice blocks could stay in the machine for long specially if customers have stop coming for a while , so I have to replace an old block with a new one every once in a while . Ice cubes though can be easily put inside the machine directly form a freezer . I hope you get me. Anyways thanks for your reply . It helped a little . Peace .
I agree but if you use ice cubes directly from the freezer without tempering them then you get a different consistency from your ice. You will get more of a crunch in your snow cones. I prefer no to very little crunch personally. I just like the ribbon style you get from a block shaver since there isnt any crunch at all. Its more "authentic" and the texture is just like the ones I have had in Hawaii.
You said it isn't as good as your block shaver. Is there anything that has a better consistency than the snowie around this price point of $200. Thanks
Hey Captainkrunch! I love your name haha.. My block shaver is so much better then the little snowie and is a little cheaper as well. I ended up getting it for Christmas about 4 years ago and I have used it non stop since then. I have used it for my wedding and quite a few parties as well so ive def. used the heck out of it! I believe its call great northern ice cub. I own the older model of this but you can find the updated version on amazon. the older model runs about 180.00 vs the new updated model which is around 210.00. I will leave a couple of links down below! tonybuddy123 thanks for the information. I ended up buying the older cub shaver based on your reply. It came with a shield that was nice. It arrived yesterday and I have been trying all week to freeze ice. You wouldn't think it would be that difficult but my blocks keep cracking as they are freezing so they are not structurally sound for spinning. Still experimenting but how are you freezing your blocks successfully? I am using a 7 inch diameter x 7 inch high food grade container
Hey Captainkrunch. To tell you the truth all of my ice blocks have had cracks in them besides a few of them. Ive probably have made hundreds of them and they all have been cracked. I only had one that broke up while on the ice shaver and that happened last week. It didn't break all the way through though. I used my ice pick to chip away at the section that chipped and I was still able to use it again. That was the first time I had to use my ice pick out of the 4 years that I have owned it haha.. When I set my ice block on the shaver I press the rod down just enough to keep it in place. I dont slam it down because that causes damage to my ice block. I hope that makes sense. Since you have the ice shield you dont have to worry about the ice block shattering in your face. Temper the ice block and shave away. You will be surprised that it shaves just fine with a crack in it. Let me know how it goes!
This little tip is from Hawaiian Snow. Ive never tried it because I dont have an empty freezer at my house and Im fine with cracks in my ice blocks because it hasn't given me any issues. "Hi, I think I can help you with the ice cracking problem. To prevent ice from cracking, try not to open and close the freezer door frequently throughout the freezing period. The opening and closing of the door causes temperature differences which causes the ice to freeze improperly thus causing the cracks. The temperature differences also causes the mold to expand which cracks the mold. If possible, try freeze the ice without any other products in the freezer (ice cream, groceries, etc.)."
Do you still have this little snowie?
Hi. My family got one for Christmas but it was missing the flavors
The flavors only come with the unit if you purchased that specific package. Typically they only come with concentrates.

SUPER FUNNY QUESTION !!! YSE YOUR BRAIN AND YOU WILL HEAR IT SAY ....NO !!! WONT LAST UNLESS YOU MAKE 1 A DAY !!!🙄🙄
I have never been much of a slushy person, my wife on the other hand is an addict, her and my son would use it all the time
I think you just haven't had the right one meathead! It really comes down to the consistency of the ice and the flavor!
@@tonybuddy123 lol I thought you called him a meathead but it was his name 😂😅

What’s up Captainkrunch! I would be willing to bet a Little Snowie that you’d prefer it over the Cub shaver, for real!
I love mine. Try the wedding cake. Banana. Unicorn dust. Flavor
