PAC-MAN Mega Tunnel Battle: Chomp Champs is an online-only PAC-MAN eating competition! Eat your way through multiple interconnected mazes using Power Pellets and a variety of Power Items to chomp the GHOSTS and opponent PAC-MAN players! Be the last PAC standing at the end of each match in this 64-player Battle Royale to be the Chomp Champ!

I like how they used the "kill screen" as the method by which mazes get eliminated.
I love calling it the 256th level glitch, because that's the level of the original 'Pac-Man' that the glitch happens on! XD
I also rly like how they acknowledged it in other media, like the 256 android game

This glitch became an easter egg over time and it's cool to see it included in more pacman games

Yeah, unfortunately, it's not 99 players it's 64 players, so it's losing 35 players.

People only remember stadia for its failure and Towerfall (if you like Celeste or Towerfall Ascension)
I’m glad Namco can still get creative with what they do with the maze style of PAC-Man games, still hope to see some more in the Pac-Man world style in the future
This looks fun but I miss Pac-Man 99 tbh. Also hope that there will be a remake of Pac-Man World 2 soon

It's sad that Pac-Man 99 is gone, but this looks a lot fun to play and it reminds me of that Bomberman battle royal game where it also has multiple disappearing battle fields.

Namco's big Pac-man themed official arcade in Chicago was called "Level 256". It even had a romhacked arcade machine that started the game on level 255 so you could see the kill screen.
pacman 256 is a mobile game that has had it since 2015

It's literally used as a sudden death to untie players in Pac-Man Party Royale for iOS, check it out, I only mention it cuz it has an unique Pac-Man design and it has surprisingly good animations for a mobile game

@Faxman78 The Battle Royale aspect but 99 only had a single maze, this new game gives you the ability to teleport to different landscapes during the battle..I believe that gives the players in the battle more of an edge

I loved pac-man 99 because of the amazing and intense music, I hope this does something like that
OMG the animation of the Maze eliminating is the glitch when the OG game overload with data which is what fans considered the ending of Pac-Man

So is it me or is Namco's side of Bamco way too focused on Classic Pac-Man competitive games? If even Sega can manage to make good classic and modern Sonic games these days, Namco's side of Bamco shouldn't have any trouble doing 3D Pac-Man adventure games. If they're going to get in on the Battle Royale craze, why not do a Breath of the Wild with Pac-Man? It worked for Sonic even though Frontiers was objectively worse than BotW in almost every way aside from weapon durability and being unable to climb in the rain without going out of your way to find all three pieces of the outfit with the no-slip buff. Oh wait, that was TotK that had an outfit with that buff. Man TotK was an improvement. Not a massive one but still an improvement.
The elimated mazes being glitched is a great touch.

And so, it's now official. Here's the reason why Pac-Man 99 was removed, in my view. Personally, I tried pacman 99 but I wasn't happy with all the in-game purchases I had to make. Having said that, it was pretty fun. If this is as fun, kudos.
Major kudos for being freed from Stadia as well.
