Thank you for explaining as you work. Watching leather work is nice, but those of us just beginning REALLY appreciate the guidance! Great leather work!
I think this is a fantastic little project, I like it as a leather tool holder. It was good to see your face in the last film. Thank you, kind regards, Chris from the UK.
This is cool! Might also be able to get another piece of leather on the top of the base with holes cut out to match the above holes, to keep the pens/items from moving around
On the fly projects are the best! I think a good addition to this project would be adding a keeper at the bottom to keep whatever is in the holder upright and prevent side by side tipping! Thanks for the video!
My Dad was a Case pocket knife collector, I think this would make a great display for a few knives at a time. You could tailor the size of hole at the top for the different size knives.
GREAT, fun project - I'm going to make these for my art teacher friends! Most people would have no idea how many steps there are to making something that looks fairly straight forward. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Just a quick thought - at 11:52 - if you're doing the stand as a gift, or a branding gadget, you could leave the piece uncut as a stand for ink bottle, a stamp or a vertical card holder.
Curious if you have ever use the solid hammered rivets that require cutting and pounding. I love how they look, but of course they take more time to set
Just some ideas for your viewers,if you have scrap leather and want to make insoles for your shoes or sandals. never be afraid to make a mistake, that is part of the craft.
Sharpies should be stored upside down so they don't dry out as fast. You can remove the pocket clip from the cap and make your holes a little bit larger. Perfect.
Very cool project, and nicely done. BTW, a 1/4" roll pin punch down through the holes after completion makes nice indentions to the base so the pens don't slide around. ;-)
🎉GREAT VIDEO , AND IDEA AS WELL !!! At 1:48 when cutting, I am very Meticulous on how much lether I use and throw away, what if you cut it previously to how long you wanted, it really seems that you could have obtained 2 pieces out of that long 9 or 10 inch piece of Wet molded leather, is just an observation thank you for your time!!!
I bought some leather to see if I can pick this up as a hobby but the piece I bought seems to crack a lot. is there something that I can do to it to allow I to be cut and have the corners rounded without it cracking? I was thinking of just adding water but not sure if that will ruin it. I could also pick up some leather conditioner. but I honestly have no idea what I am doing.
You can try adding something like Neatsfoot oil which will condition the leather and make it more flexible. Also do you know what sort of leather you bought? Eg veg tan vs chrome tan
9:22 wouldn't it be better to scratch the surface where the glue was applied with a blade? I also wonder why you didn’t process the edges with etching paper and a wooden frame with paint, as many do

Agreed. Good to hear the thought process.
Because I make wooden pens, this would be a wonderful idea for displaying my pens for sale. Classy!!!!!!!!!!!! Patrick from Idaho
For sure!! I had a customer that always wanted custom pen holders to go along with them. I wish I would have thought of this

Will be a great project for my woodworking bench! Pencils, marking knives, small screw drivers. Thanks!
Also, I have a bunch of copper rivets from another project so I think I'll do 4 rivets on each side!
So cool! My favorite video you gave us is the pink purse, which is the prettiest purse I’ve ever seen. Frances
Watch these videos and listen de advices are the best class that we have about lether art...thanks, team (from BR)

First thing that popped in to my head was cool I can make that then adapt it for business cards or coasters too.

Nice shout out to Dad Hands you did there 🤣🤣

Great looking piece
Cool, simple, elegant. Thanks!!!
Awesome idea for a project. It turned out great! QOTD: when will your stitching chisels be available for purchase? I'd love to buy some.
You could also cut a rectangle on the top piece and it would become a coaster holder as well.
Nice! It would be easy to tool to make it super fancy
On the pen holder. When your going to tool the top piece ,do you wet mold first then tool or tool first .thank you for videos

Nicely done!
That’s a cool little project. Where do I get that razor knife at though and the blades for it?? It looks substantial!
Came out great. Nice job.
Love it good sir, definitely can't wait to get some of your stitching prongs though.
The metallic sharpies in the thumbnail should be stored upside down!
That’s freaking awesome!
i noticed you have a buckleguy press, just curious did you or would you sell your weaver press?
Very nice idea 👌 thanks for giving such clear ideas thank u very much
Very good idea!
great video! when are your knifes and stitching chisels coming out?
WOW THIS IS SO COOL. THANKS FOR SHARING, KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK 👏🏽😁👍🏼😍
Cool idea 💡
I love your videos Sir.
Does this really need to be Wet molded?
I always saw this design working just fine being stitched to a solid base. (Though I haven't tried)
And you answered this at 11:46
🙃
I'm sure it was covered at some point in one of these videos, but I can't find it. Does anyone happen to know where he gets his logo stamps made?
wonderful
class could be nice for my carving tools
what was the name of the scissors, no link and couldn't understand what you said please
Any thread scissors will work. Those are solid metal which makes them a bit nicer

@@chemclimber veg tan.. supposedly. But I just wanted to try it out and bought it from Amazon so who knows 😇
@@chemclimber I looked up the listing. Veg Tan | Medium weight 1.5-2.5 mm thick | Full Grain for Crafts & Workshop
@@DamagedDingo umm fair enough. Not a seller I know, if you are in the UK I can recommend some places for buying veg tan
I second what @freedom within boundaries said. Make sure it’s pure neatsfoot *oil*, NOT compound. Mink oil is another option.
Thanks 😁

Neat
Why do it, if it's not perfect?
