If people knew it was tourettes theyd be less likely to laugh. You have to admit if someone does something random, and they dont know why, they would probably laugh out of surprise. It can be hard to talk about, but you'd get a better response from people if you dont leave them in the dark.

Dealt with this my entire life, not so much people laughing about what I do, but trying so hard to oppress the overwhelming urge to do whatever happened to be my tick at that particular time. Sometimes it's just blinking like very hard for a few seconds over and over, sometimes it's grinding my jaw, many other things but they cycle over and over. I've never told even my parents how much I struggled with this my whole life, but undoubtedly I have the concern and probably should have gotten it addressed. I can definitely relate very closely to what she's dealing with and it's not exactly a great feeling. Best wishes for her, she seems like a very genuine and down to earth person unlike so many other celebrities today

My sister whom I adored had Tourette’s with the verbal tics. Nobody even knew what it was. My mother tried to get an exorcist and then she read an article in readers digest about Tourettes and was able to get in touch with the author. He payed for her to fly to Washington and she was diagnosed in 5 minutes. I think she was 14. She was so beautiful that the boys over looked it but they had her on so many different meds that her liver failed and I unplugged her from life support I held her hand and sang Bobby McGee as she left this world at 50 years old. I wish she could have seen Billie and Lewis Capaldi. I was three when she was 11 and I would throw rocks and try and beat up people who made fun of her. One of he tics was using her finger and pushing on her gums. They had to rebuild her gums 3 times. She suffered a lot and she never met anyone else with Tourette’s. It pisses me off when people cuss and then say oops it’s my Tourette’s. It isn’t funny and it caused the death of my sister. Thank you Billie Ellish and Lewis Capaldi for having the courage for sharing your stories. I wish my sister had lived to hear your music. ❤❤❤

If you don’t explain the condition to the host or anyone who is doing an interview and suddenly, there is an unexpected move, an unexpected reaction could be surprised, a laugh or a scared is to be expected. Communication can make things less uncomfortable .
Just my opinion. No one can assume there was a prior conversation about someone’s medical diagnosis to an interviewer. An even then, there are natural responses to any situation. Some people smile, or laugh in situations of high stress or fear. Some people begin to sweat when speaking in front of an audience. Hiiii, just wanted to let you know that the UA-cam who posted this is now arrested for kidnapping a girl and asking for ransom of 1 million. She had planned it out along with her family for an entire year, choosing the victim and left no clue. They only left the child at a random lonely place because the news spread to the entire country. So pls do not interact with this short, bcs she still earns money from this. She could have simply used her UA-cam money but she decided to kidnap and torture.

I used to get teased about it or people would laugh or put a spot light on me when I did it. It was so embarrassing. I never knew certain family members had named it until one day my sister said to my little niece, “Show auntie the funny.” My niece had been doing something similar just to be silly and get laughs. That’s when I realized they never understood it was a real problem I had. They thought it was a joke. Of course my sister felt really felt bad when I explained it was/is a real issue. Some people dont know how to react properly seeing it first . And a ha or a tiny laugh is a normal reaction to remove the tension.

Maybe they don’t know you have it. I know I didn’t, but I’ve also never seen her twitch or jolt. Celebrities are so strange and get praised for being outrageous that everything looks like a gimmick. If you aren’t open about it, it’ll go unnoticed for what it is. It’s unfortunate that she has to feel insulted because she doesn’t put so much focus on it.

My brother has Tourette’s and it’s surprising how many ppl I see mock him. It makes me so angry and sad.

You know I've always believed that people that have tourettes are so strong and awesome I mean the control you have to have can't even imagine

There is no control when you have Tourettes, medication is the only answer for many who suffer from this condition, I have a nephew with it and it effects everything he does

I also have tourettes and most people laugh when they find out. I ignore them because I like that it makes me a little unique.
