Anthony I love that you cover such a wide array of music. Sorry that in reviews for albums like this, which aren't high profile album reviews, the comment section has little to no real acknowledgement of the album. Just remember the silent majority of thousands who genuinely enjoy your coverage of less popular albums such as this one.
JoshuaKaluba Hi I'm a lawyer representing all real niggas. Only comments related to memes are allowed in melons comments. Therefore I would like to issue you with a cease and desist. Thank you for your cooperation.
I mean I have to respect your opinion of course, but I feel on this album they excel the most when they're trying on the longer songs. For example, Serpents of the Crossroads works very well due to the character and personality that it shows with the band going the extra mile and vocals and instrumental aspects pushing the boundaries on Integrity's typical sound (okay maybe the vocals don't push the boundaries but let me have this one) Great review Fantano.
THANK YOU for covering metal .You introduced me to the first punk/metal bands that I ever listened to, and really opened up a whole new world of music for me.
Interestingly this is by far my favorite Integrity album. I'm a huge fan of Dom on guitars, this is the first album I thought the riffs were actually good. Oh well. To each his own.
Toby Drake When the point is to have a conversation about the music I want to read them and see other people's opinions not the same jokes over and over and over dude.
Relapse records has had a few years reputation of signing on experimental artists with a spanning range of genres. It seems the weirder the better for Relapse which I think has been a very successful campaign of artists signed within the last few years. Bands like Primitive Man, Wind-hand, Integrity, Author and punisher, Mastodon, Dying Fetus etc all possess a unique and often experimental or extreme edge to them as well. I applaud Relapse for their choice in artists as they definitely cater to highly conceptually driven artists at large.
I don't think it'll get more than a 6. Which is a shame, its a pretty alright given that its just an EP. I don't like it as much as the one prior to it though Im not dissatisfied by it.
That's fair, and a more likely estimate than mine now that you said that. I'm not fully digging track 2 or 4, and I do think that the other EP is more consistent in terms of the spread of quality, if that makes sense. I also think it has a more confidant, likeable tone in regards to fan appeal. However, I think the Background Word is just gorgeous; it combines a lot of qualities I like about modern NIN (The Slip onwards, loosely speaking) and fleshes it out into a long but attention holding track.
That is evidently not a Converge review, right at the end. Solid review though. This review made me realise I've been mixing up Integrity and Incendiary - I downloaded an Incendiary album a little while back, listened to it thinking it was Integrity, and couldn't understand the hype.
Fer CristaLaso Integrity was one of the first hardcore bands to incorporate alot of metalesque riffs but they will always be a Cleveland hardcore band.
I think you're right about the band not being able to keep the long songs of the album interesting for very long. I was listening and felt myself drifting in and out of attention. Maybe I just prefer a different sound now overall but I didn't find a song on the whole thing that made me listen until I heard the bonus track. It just felt like background noise to me and that's really unfortunate - maybe I need to give it another chance, in a different environment.
You give great reviews! This album was a little off for me, but I was always iffy about this band anyway. Completely unrelated music, but you should please please please rate The Hand That Thieves or any other Streetlight Manifesto album!

That's my favourite song on the EP. If he does review it, I'm guessing its a light to decent seven, maybe a light eight.

This is a GREAT ALBUM and Integritys best for sure.
Amir Jafari nothing Intergrity does nowadays will ever compare to For those who fear tommorow. That shit is their swan song.
Yeah, the album is good.
I may prefer this album over the new power trip for favorite album of the year..oh wait second favorite. Converge will always be number one.
deltron 3030 CLASSIC REVIEW
clapthony claptano I was about to call that album overrated, but then I remembered how goddamn beautiful that first instrumental was.

Thanks for the metal review. Definitely going to check this out.
That is evidently not a Converge review, right at the end.
Solid review though. This review made me realise I've been mixing up Integrity and Incendiary - I downloaded an Incendiary album a little while back, listened to it thinking it was Integrity, and couldn't understand the hype.
