There are alot of spikes and stringlines installed on the top of buildings where I live. They do keep the birds off where the spikes are but there are still plenty of birds around.
I have done some research on what actually does work and put it on a site.

Woodies are my problem, eat all the buds off the trees and flap & crap &coo constantly. End up with dislodged tiles from them flapping, no fruit on my trees and crap everywhere. They breed all year, are terrible parents, real half-hearted nest of a few twigs. Neighbours feed them like pets, just as they do with land gulls in some areas. Townies moving into the countryside, usually.

Unfortunately for me, I have a pair of pigeons either on my window ledge, or the roof of my apartment building. They don’t fly off until the sun comes up. But when it gets dark, they fly back to my window ledge, or the roof. I even hear them cooing in the middle of the night. It totally sucks that I can’t sleep with my window open because it makes me think that they are going to rip my screen open to get through my window. Even pest control has tried to get them. My landlord says that they are way up high on the roof.
Get a hawk decoy which they sell at mill and feed store, place it on the inside of windowsill and they won't return again.. Is that too hard?

Good advice after I have got rid of this pigeon in my loft I called someone to come and get it out and he wouldn't touch it he said he's not allowed to move it it's protected! I want to board the loft out asap I'm just going to go up scare the thing off bin the nest and block the entry off what's the pigeon going to do grass me up! flying rats protected it's unbelievable

I am personally more afraid of catching diseases from humans. Cruelty to animals is a crime, some of you will go to jail. Also if you study history you will notice that pigeons helped soldiers during the wars because they were used as messengers therefore they helped save lives. I am amazed at how unintelligent some people can be towards animals of all types, truly THEY are the bird brains. When we decide to live in harmony with nature and learn how to use pigeon manure to grow gardens around cities that we have built on earth's healthy soils and deleted natural habitats for the birds; then we will have made progress. The poor birds are victims of us taking over every corner of the earth and slabbing it with ugly concrete nonsense and ruining their homes. Pigeon manure is more effective than cow manure to grow crops, they used to call it "golden" and was very expensive. Which means lots of humans were fed from crops which had grown from pigeon poop. But of course the bird brains out there (although I am insulting birds) will sit on their chair getting fat and try to hurt the pigeons with guns. Well karma will have it with the ignorant people of this world, i.e. laws and regulations that will send their lazy bottom to jail; and it has already been implemented. Please study a little history.
