We both studied zoology and after that we started to focus more on filming and photographing animals. We feel that we can educate many people with our work thanks to videos and photos :)
@@shanebaxley5217 at the time, I was a Spanish major and biology minor. I spent some time in the Galapagos islands and the tropical rainforest while in Ecuador. More than anything, it was an experience that sticks with me to this day.
Wow. It was nice to see the reptile world of one of my favourite Nation. Costa Rica is really rich with nature. 👍 and i can see guys, your efforts are really commendable 👏👏👏 And the montane pit viper body patterns just look similar as the Russell's viper. It's amazing. 😄
Costa Rica has amazing wildlife! It is always a pleasure to visit this country. We were surprised how beautifully colored the Costa Rica montane pit viper was!
Many thanks! Watch the previous episode with Terciopelos! ua-cam.com/video/H2UAYU1-xmA/v-deo.html Central American rattlesnake will be in one of upcoming episodes. We already have a natural history video about it: ua-cam.com/video/onnIp17eS-c/v-deo.html
I think the coral snake looks like it was designed for Christmas viewing! How calm snakes can be when calmly handled by humans. How many other wild species of animals would remain so calm in the close proximity of humans?
Hi your photography is just fantastic and the videos are really well produced, great to watch and interesting. Could you please tell me which portable LED light you are using ? Would appreciate your reply. Thanks Paul
I've heard Costa Rica is the safest country in Central America. I've also heard Columbia is very beautiful, but I'd hate to see Louis and his lovely wife get kidnapped.
Yes, we safe the exact spot where we found the snake and release it there so it gets back to its territory. There are studies showing that especially in small vipers if you release them too far away they often die. They don't know where to hide, where to find food or water, or they are simply stressed too much.
Do you guys give advice on how to walk in areas like that, to minimize risk of getting a snake bite? It's so scary that you can't see the things! Even if you're looking right at one, it's almost invisible in the leaves. And they don't move! No wonder most people are bitten because they unintentionally step on one. You guys may love snakes, but getting a bite from one is very serious permanent damage even under the best of circumstances.
The best way to walk in areas with snakes is to watch your step, always have proper shoes and if it is dark, use head torch. Never put your hands in dense vegetation or never step in very tall grass.
We have tons of videos just about snakes, be sure to check our channel properly 😉 Many people wanted also to see behind the scenes of our work, that is why we started to film that too.
A boy from my home town was bitten by a Fer-de-lance , while on vacation in Costa Rica. The doctor Cut his leg open from the hip to the ankle, so that his leg would not burst open. Administered 60 + ? doses of anti venom. The boy lived. Do NOT vacation in costa rica.
These accidents can happen anywhere in tropical countries. Costa Rica is a very safe country for visit with amazing nature and tourists get bitten very rarely.
Costa Rica is my favorite country, and you two are my favorite youtubers. Thanks for bringing us along!
Awesome! Thank you! Stay tuned for next episodes! :)

Nice videography of snakes. I do wish however you would focus on the snakes, family stuff is for your reels. I do not care to see that in the least.

@Gustavo López Do NOT waste time an money saving poisonous snakes. dumb idea.

They play a role in nature same as any other organism.
Is Micrurus mosquitensis the same species as Micrurus nigrocinctus?
No, it is not. The names are different and they have a different range. However, they look quite similar.
