    Question, I’m fairly new to bikes, but my bike starts really easy, the problem is that it bogs really bad until it gets hot, which takes quite a while. I was jw if it’s something that needs adjusted or if it normal?

    • @stevenbender9763

      Maybe the carburetor needs a clean

    Will the oil need to be drained out when opening the timing cover?

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  6 років тому

      There should always be oil all over the engine. It was never a problem for me because there was a light coating and puddles of oil when i checked the valves, it might not be draining if there is too much oil when you open the engine up,

    My 150 is really hard to start, could this help? (Please awnser)

    • @delta90903

      if its not starting or is hard to start, i recommend you check and/or clean the carburetor. but seeming as i dont know much about the whole engine side of stuff, i'd recommend looking into it a little more if you haven't already. and what the valves do is they basically tell how much gas and air should go into the piston cylinder to complete a full round of combustion (i think, don't quote me on that) :)

    I have a 2015 Honda crf 150rb. I got the valves done and carberatour rebuilt about a year ago and I change the spark plug and air filter and oil. The bike runs good sometimes and sometimes it will bog out in mid air while I jump it, and while I’m in 4th gear I give it about half throttle Itl bog. Then I give it full throttle then it will open up. So some days the bike runs great and some days it runs crappy. Any idea what could be causing this?

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  Рік тому

      its most likely a fuel issue, maybe bad gas or a plugged vent hose, maybe pull it off the bike and go through it once, check to see if the jets are sock or need to be re-jetted, check your oem Honda service manual for a troubleshooting further.

    So if there is to much space in the valve clearance how do you adjust it to the right clearance?

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  6 років тому

      +corey maddox There is a + or - clearance that the valve clearance has to be, if it is too small you have to take the cam off then remove each bucket and swap out the little shim's to change the clearance.

    • @maddoggoutdoors3943
      @maddoggoutdoors3943 6 років тому

      My bike had knocked the tappet out and broke the retainer but i ordered new ones and put them in but the is a big clearance now my dirtbike won’t start up. It kick sparks and act like it’s going to crank but won’t stay on.

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  6 років тому

      To see if the crank is bad, I would remove the cylinder and see if the crank has up and down play in the bearings. Then I would make sure the timing is set correctly. Because if the timing is set incorrectly it wont spark at the right time.

    • @maddoggoutdoors3943
      @maddoggoutdoors3943 6 років тому

      Ohk I’ll do that and if nothings wrong. Can it be shimmed or the valve is possibly bent?

    • @maddoggoutdoors3943

      Should i just get a new cam shaft and valves?

    hey guys i need some help, me and my dad were trying to check the valves and when we went to take off the cap to where you can crank the engine to top dead center on the right side of the crankcase, i stripped it our pretty bad, and we've been too scared to do anything to it. you guys have any advice on what we should do? thanks

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  3 роки тому

      Those threads are short and If they are stripped badly I dont think their is a good way of saving them. From the sound of it you need to replace the whole right crank case cover. $114.51 for the case cover and $15.54 for the gasket.
      You might have to buy a new cap and o-ring if they are damaged.
      Good luck, go step by step with the manual and you will do fine.

    • @delta90903
      @delta90903 3 роки тому

      @@Justdirtbikes its not the threads inside its the actual hex key cap itself. when we tried unscrewing it the hex keyed middle piece just flew metal shavings everywhere and we were thinking that the anti-seize paste we put on there last time had melted and kept it from moving this time.

    Also, I have the same bike and after a minute of warming up with choke nob out, it starts to rev pretty high. What does this mean?

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  7 років тому

      My bike does this when the choke is on too. The choke lets more gas in to the engine and less air. (it chokes the air.) It means the bike is able to rev normally so you could take the choke off.

    • @nathankotowski3797

    You didn't have to remove the shrouds from the radiator since they are connected to the tank but good video

      Also I (my friend) stripped my radiator shroud bolt into my gas tank. Do you have any suggestions of getting it out?

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  7 років тому +1

      I used the Honda Owners and service manuals

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  7 років тому +1

      If the stripped threads are in your gas tank it would be very hard to drill out and re-tap new ones because the threads are held in the plastic gas tank, I am going to check mine to see if i have any ideas.

    • @ethansmith244
      @ethansmith244 7 років тому

      I saw a video were they took a drill and kept spinning the bolt to create so much friction that it melted the plastic and they just pulled it out. But I don't want to put a whole in my gas tank. I could put some paste in there to re thread it...

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  7 років тому

      it looks like the threads are in a brass sleeve so i think that you could loosen the brass sleeve and buy new threads/ or re-tap them
