Preventing suicide through family-based crisis intervention

Sharonne Herbert, who implemented family-based crisis intervention (FBCI) at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, explains what happens when a suicidal adolescent arrives at an emergency room with FBCI. FBCI works to stabilize the teen, open communication, and equip them to return home safely.
