I was lucky to know Graham and his wife Margaret as they where friends with my parents having lived in the same village. RIP Graham
That’s a fine head of hair. People had no choice but to look like this in 1973 because Baseball caps hadn’t been discovered yet.

This is liquid gold. It was the mildest xmas on record I think. And a pretty mild winter as well.
Graham went on to be a forecaster with BBC Look East where he spent the last years of his broadcasting career.
Really was working on his post Sparks album at this point and was looking for some meteorological inspiration lol
Graham Parker died just before Christmas. RIP Graham
He was 90
I expected him to forecast that a howlin' wind runs through here, blowin' every day.
We were both in 28th Willesden Rover Scout crew he was a lovely guy Derek phelps

These charts lasted until 1985 when computer-generated maps were used and in 2005 3d graphics took over and see still used today

I was just three at the time; too young to understand or remember the weather forecast. Besides, I was fast asleep in bed then!
In the 70’s we still had weather that reflected the season ! Spring was warm , summer was hot , autumn was wet and winter was cold snowy and icy . Now we just get freak weeks of hot weather , a lot of rain and depending on where you live very little snow ❗️
