I always wondered how they found the perfect boy to play young stede - soft, sweet, and similar enough to Rhys that it was believable. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was Rhys’ actual son!
I also noticed how in this episode the plant isn't looking too good but in episode 9 when they demonstrate that stede is a real pirate the plant looks to be in good health. :)
As buttons is about to start talking about the mutiny you can see Black Pete doing wild stabbing motions in the background as he is talking to the rest of the crew about killing Stede XD
I noticed that too, it seems a lot of details I decided not to add because I didn't think they would be easily missed I should have added anyway lol. I plan to add them in the next one
And yes!! There needs to be more videos on the background details! The OFMD cast are so entertaining and are always doing something in the background. Even tho its only 10 episodes long, it’s these details that makes rewatching this show so fun
When everyone is getting dressed up in Stede's cabin, Wee John is playing on the harpsichord/piano thingy! It's just a really cute easily missed detail hehe
Oooh!! One of my favorites is that, when Stede is showing Badminton the library and all that, there are pictures (or drawings, whatever) of Alma and Louis on the mantle :) both precious and heartbreaking
Yeah so I'm gonna be needing one of these for every episode. I didn't make any requests when you put that offer out there so now I'm requesting nine ;-) Seriously though, there were so many details that, even in the googolplex times I've watched every episode, I didn't catch!
I LOVE these! I’ve watched the show five times now (yes, every episode) and I watch favorite scenes a lot too. The kisses, Lucius and Izzy in ep 5, Edward/Stede at the end of ep 5. Anyway, there are a lot of things I’ve missed, and I would love to have one of these for each episode of OFMD. I will subscribe to make sure I don’t miss any new ones.
This is absolutely amazing!!! I feel like Roach has a lot of throwaway lines that get lost in the ether so it’s nice to see stuff like that brought to light!! Adds to the comedy really 😂💖✨
the "sewing glove" is actually a "sailmaker's palm," if anyone wants to look that up! (I suspect if you knew to include it in the details here you who made the video know that already :) )
Actually I've never heard of a sail maker's palm. When I was looking it up the only thing I could think of was sewing glove and that gave very limited results. Honestly, thanks for pointing it out I was curious what it was actually called.
Absolutely brilliant! Love this. Though the vomit skull flag is Roach, not Black Pete (if you watch the sewing scene VERY carefully, you can see Roach holding that flag). I wonder what Pete's flag is...? Oluwande made the 'flag extender'! :D
You're doing the Lord's work, thank you! The thing at 1:07 looks more like a spittoon than a chamber pot to me. Historically, it *shouldn't* be a spittoon, as that was more of a Wild West thing, but the shape, the material, and the placement of it (a chamber pot would typically be under or up against the bed, that is to say, discreetly hidden) are more likely for a spittoon than a chamber pot. I'm guessing someone just saw it in an antique shop and though "ooh, that looks old timey!" I mean, of course, it's perfectly possible to piss into a spittoon though, so in the end, what even is a chamber pot?
Lol I thought the same thing but after a lot of research chamber pots had the same shape and material as the one shown in the show, especially in that era. And tbh I wouldn't be surprised if the set designers put it there for laughs
I love how Pete was so against flag making, but seemed so satisfied that his was hung up Do you guys think in Season 2 the crew will be more pissed off that their flags were taken down or that they were marooned?
Lucius' quick look away when Olu turns his face towards him... Gays know not to get caught staring. I wonder if that was in the script or if it was improv from Nathan.
Love all this! However what you've got labeled as a chamber pot isn't. It's probably an anachronism. Chamber pots were always ceramic; copper and its alloys would turn shocking blue and eventually eat through if you kept peeing in them.
I always wondered how they found the perfect boy to play young stede - soft, sweet, and similar enough to Rhys that it was believable. Imagine my surprise when I found out it was Rhys’ actual son!
I thought he was such a talent, too!! And there you go
So Frenchie was so invested in the idea of a cat flag that he made 2 of them? I love him your honour
I know its so sweet! I imagine after they used the cat flag as a decoy the crew all just let him make a new one as it was only fair
I also noticed how in this episode the plant isn't looking too good but in episode 9 when they demonstrate that stede is a real pirate the plant looks to be in good health. :)
Yeah I was planning to track it's health as the episodes go
As buttons is about to start talking about the mutiny you can see Black Pete doing wild stabbing motions in the background as he is talking to the rest of the crew about killing Stede XD

Hmm, I'll have to take another look, thanks
a tiny thing that i love is, when they're all getting dressed, lucius makes an oumf sound as he shoves the cravat in his mouth
adding that to my next video.
Okay, "goodness nose" got me
GOODNESS NOSE LMAO
Oooh!! One of my favorites is that, when Stede is showing Badminton the library and all that, there are pictures (or drawings, whatever) of Alma and Louis on the mantle :) both precious and heartbreaking
I'm on my 9th rewatch and I've finally noticed that Stede is wearing an entirely different outfit while he and Lucius are touring the ship's rooms. XD
Oh I didn't know that was David!!! Awesome!
goodness nose omg hahahaha
When buttons tells Stede about the mutiny Lucius gives an annoyed sigh that he told him 😂
Rewatched the series 3 times now and didn't notice that was David Jenkins in ep 1 lol thank you for these!
I really hope you end up making more of these! I really thought I had caught everything and I wasn't even close!
Working on it right now actually. It may be a little while as I'm being extra thorough this time.
Yeah so I'm gonna be needing one of these for every episode. I didn't make any requests when you put that offer out there so now I'm requesting nine ;-) Seriously though, there were so many details that, even in the googolplex times I've watched every episode, I didn't catch!
Aw thank you so much for putting this together! I didn’t know about half of these 😫🤍
I LOVE these!
Honestly I've lost count of how many times I've watched the entire show and even with going nearly frame by frame I still miss shit.
"Goodness nose" sent me
this is literally amazing! it was only on my like 5th rewatch that i caught the "goodness nose"!
See, Stede knows what's going on by putting Black Pete's flag on top of Lucius'
Love the details in the background! Will you analyse every episode? :D
I'd like to eventually.
This is absolutely amazing!!! I feel like Roach has a lot of throwaway lines that get lost in the ether so it’s nice to see stuff like that brought to light!! Adds to the comedy really 😂💖✨
I noticed the "goodness nose" on my second re-watch of the series, and it cracked me up.
Nice work. I shared your breakdowns to OFMD group on FB. Hope that bring you more views and likes.
Thank you so much, that means a lot!
Heh, "goodness nose".
Tremendo video que hiciste! ver tantos detalles me impresiono jajajaj tendre que ir a ver de nuevo la serie jajajaja gracias por este video :)
oh so THATS where chauncey got the cat flag lmao i had been wondering that since i watched it

@@rindecision Oh, cool!
@@rindecision Nicole Rudolph mentions it briefly in her vid about pirate clothing/OFMD!
The fact that the scene with spyglasses was cut before "EYEEEE" is a crime against humanity.
I would love to see more of these!

This is freaking brilliant! Pls do one for each episode if you have the time!
ok but "released in 1883" is so funny
yes, i would like to see more. thoroughly enjoyed.
This is so fun to watch!
Thank YOU ❤️❤️❤️ You are doing great job!
the 'released 1883' TOOK ME OUT
1:10 that's not a chamber pot, that's a spittoon!
omg i love it!!!! and very helpful too!
Where did Stede's tricorn suddenly appear from?
please make more!
I read this in swede's voice "please get more oranges"
I can’t slow this down enough, I have to keep back tracking! I still don’t know what’s in the en-suite and the animal bit! Good fun though!!
Wonderful! More, please!
Working on #4 rn, may be awhile though
Damn, you have good hearing.
I love how Pete was so against flag making, but seemed so satisfied that his was hung up

Lucius' quick look away when Olu turns his face towards him... Gays know not to get caught staring. I wonder if that was in the script or if it was improv from Nathan.
I like to think Nathan just got caught up in his pretty lips
@@rindecision It would be funny if that was just Nathan's subconscious behavior.
Love all this! However what you've got labeled as a chamber pot isn't. It's probably an anachronism. Chamber pots were always ceramic; copper and its alloys would turn shocking blue and eventually eat through if you kept peeing in them.
Thanks for letting me know. I'll look more into it.
So after a quick Google aristocracy would have chamber pots in a variety of metals including copper, brass, all the way to gold.
@@rindecision Huh. As a metalsmith, that seems stupid, but that's rich people for ya! Can you share your sources? I'd love to read about it!
@@smarmasaur antiques.lovetoknow.com/White_Chamber_Pot here's the one I used but there are many other sites that say similar
@@rindecision Thanks!
In the scene where the British are making fun of the flags, are Black Pete and the Swede defensive because it's their flags being judged?
yes, and when they make fun of the button one Lucius looks extra sick because it's his flag
@@rindecision poor baby. Lucius is always iconic, even when he's in the background. 💅
Just clarifying, that was actually a mistake on my part. The button flag is Roach's. But the other two are Pete and Swede's
@@rindecisionThat's even better, because that means Lucius just looks like that on the regular.
