Yeah, this is definitely one of my favorite low key character movies. Honestly, I related to one character almost no one mentions: Norman, the older man waiting at the out of service bus stop for the "bus that never comes". When he says, " You don't know what you're talking about." to Enid, I nodded. When the bus comes for him, I wanted to get on board with him. When the bus comes for Enid, I thought that was the perfect ending for the film. Enid was not part of that world any longer, and it made sense for her to pack up and leave. Where she went is anyone's guess, but I'm thinking she and Norman are happier out of there.

I like that observation. She thinks she knows it all and pities the old fool. "You don't know what you're talking about" he says. She will come to realize how much there still is to learn.

4:47 I don’t know why but Josh’s boss yelling at him for dropping the ice cream always makes me laugh.

Pete Doherty describes this feeling perfectly:
“..the language of a long gone era, if it ever existed at all. I don’t know of its possible to be nostalgic for a past that never existed, but I think I am.” Pete Doherty.

Loved that movie!!! Definitely under the radar flick. When I first saw the poster to this film. I thought it was a live action daria movie but definitely wasn't. great movie either way. Great review bro.

I watched this movie for the first time, going in completely blind, last night after buying it at a thrift store because my friend told me it was good. I overall loved all of the characters and found them all relatable. I struggle with the end of the movie though, it seems like all the characters just have their life go to shit in every way and usually a story would conclude with some sort of good to come out of it but it sorta just ends there. Everyone's life has gone to shit then she just leaves. I get that her leaving was foreshadowed throughout the whole film but it feels so inconclusive. Loved the rest of the movie the end just left me a tad unsatisfied.

Yeah that’s there for sure but it’s hopeful for Seymour in therapy he sounds like he’s on his way to be his old self

@@jacob_yancosky I suppose "his old self" doesn't really feel like development to me. Its definitely an interesting character film, it doesn't have anyone go through a cheesy development conclusion and it's pretty real in that sense but yeah idk still pondering it. Great vid by the way

I too was one of the people that heard of Ghost World by name and always assumed it was a horror movie lol. I eventually got around to watching the movie last year after I saw the character Enid featured in a UA-cam video that dissected the "weird girl" trope. I thought she had a cool look and after hearing how relatable she could be to people who may have been outcasts in high school, I gave it a watch and fell in love with the movie. It's definitely one of those films that you're either gonna like and connect with or one that some might find boring. Personally, I really liked it. I related to both Enid and Seymour and I thought the overall atmosphere was just great. The whole feeling of things feeling mundane and boring but still finding humor when you can. The lines were pretty good and the actors had great chemistry too, the whole film just really "vibed" perfectly if that makes sense. Overall I agree with your review and I only wished that I saw the movie earlier in my life lol.
