Great to see another reveiw of the new Sprint. I've been on Allstars for years and still love them but this baord is so versitile and fast! New design tweaks really work and this is such a well sorted board in every condition save really steep chop or bigger downwind. Love the wider standing area and stability when you step back - this 23.5 feels like my old 26 Allstar for bouy turns and stability in funky conditions/bumps etc.

Hey SUP Company - thanks for the sweet reviews! I'm an intermediate paddler, and looking to get a fast board soon. I'm paddling a SIC RS Airglide 14x26 now, and I'm looking at 2 hard boards: the Starboard Sprint 14x23.5 from this video; or the One Ocean Edge Pro 2.0, in 14x23.5 as well. Any advice? Thanks!

Thanks for watching. If you are looking for fast then you are looking at the correct boards. In terms of advice, then in brief summary of the two - the Starboard Sprint is the more immeadiately stable of the two and the most proficent in terms of handling a broader range of conditions. The ONE Edge Pro 2.0 while less stable that the Sprint is the faster of the two in flat to moderate conditions. TheONE Edge Pro 2.0 is also quicker off the line and achieves is higher speeds faster with way less drag but it does require more skill than the Sprint in order to get the best out of it. We hope this helps. If you would like to discuss further, head over to www.thesupco.com and use our live chat or email help@thesupco.com - thanks for watching :)

I would second Sup companies advice but if you can demo both first do it! Second having experimented with board widths and designs if you aren't confident on the Edge pro you wont be faster on it over any real distance or if you paddle in rougher conditions. The 23.5 Sprint is very stable for its width. Secondary stability is NUTS as it is its stability for bouy turns and catching bumps for a narrow board. Its uber predicatable in a wide range of conditions and i find the current one faster than my previous allstars in small downwind conditions. Its only in larger steep chop its starts to suffer and really then you want a Strom or Ace. For ONE I prefer the EVO2 Pro as an allround raceboard, not quite as fast but even more versitile and more stable. Demo if you can, their all awesome boards :) Experienced paddler, rec racer, 190lbs

Any idea why Wood Carbon is more than 1,5kg heavier than Carbon Sandwich this year (according to Starboard website)? Last year they were really close...

Hi Pawel, thanks for the question. Yes, simply the boards in Wood Carbon have been made stronger and stiffer in 2021 which has resulted in a high overall board weight.

I own a Sprint Wood Carbon and Brushed Carbon Allstar both 2021. I do notice the weight difference but I also find the new wood carbon to be very stiff and prefer its graphics/colour. While I prefer the responsiveness of the brushed carbon but it makes more difference on a board where lots of quick accelerations are needed - bumps, downwind and in bigger chop. For flatwater once your at speed 1.5kgs doesnt mean much and helps carry that glide. Hope that helps.
