Vauxhall Vivaro / Renault Trafic Air temperature sensor fault P0096

How to fix P0096 / DF005 Air intake temperature fault on 2015 Vauxhall Vivaro , same as renault trafic 1.6 CDTI. Check anti pollution message on dash & engine light on.
Often the air temp is read through the air flow meter but these have a separate sensor.
