Another style I've never heard of. It seems like Japan has almost as many different styles as China, even though it is a much smaller country.

Dear Seido People, the demonstrations you post are just excellent! Will you, at some point, be showcasing demonstrations of the use of the hanbo? I rarely see this weapon demonstrated, and I know that there are many schools devoted to its practice. I hope you will post some videos on striking and blocking with the hanbo. Thank you.

It's indeed not demonstrated very often.
We post all the demonstrations that are organized in the Kanto area by the two major organizations, Nippon Kobudo Kyokai and Kobudo Shinkokai, so... we're still your best bet ^^

Are there really many schools that practice the hanbo though? Apparently, there's only a handful of them and only one, Hontai Yoshin-ryu, is part of the Kobudo Kyokai. It seems it's more like a fringe weapon in koryu.

im curious what the inflection is in the pronunciation, since unko is.....doodoo. and we all know it probably doesnt mean that. also the total silence is eerie.
