Will taking the battery from the DJI 5 and putting it in the DJI 4 make the battery life of the 4 very close to that of the 5? No one on UA-cam has done this test yet and I believe that for many people this issue of compatible batteries is very interesting.
@letsgod I can't agree enough, I've been searching the web for days, no information about this particular use-case, makes me kinda want to buy one and test it myself. I got around 100 minutes doing 1080p livestreaming using the old battery. The extreme plus is 10% more mah (which means nothing) then the the extreme, I'm not sure if I would spend the money to get 10 more minute out of my camera, I would have to swap battery anyways
@@THPCuong I think exactly the same, brother. This is the test I want to see, because if it doesn't even come close to the autonomy performance of the DJI 5, it means they really did some work on the software or processor to improve the autonomy beyond just increasing the battery. I would really like to see this autonomy test in practice. I saw a MotoVlog video where the guy goes on a trip using both cameras. At the end of the trip, the DJI 4 had 30% battery and the DJI 5 still had about 50%. So I thought, would the DJI 4 with the battery of the 5 be in a test like this with about 45%?
@@letsgod So I updated the firmware yesterday and did the same test again, guess what, it's now can do the 1080p streaming from 100% battery till shutdown for 115minutes, not a lot more but with just a firmware update, that's impressive. With ~10% more capacity from the new battery I'm curious to see how much you can get out of it, but I think it won't be too much, my bet is about 10 more minutes, 10%
Anyways,my dji batteries were in the case for two months and all three batteries had 100%.When i charge my gopro battery 100% and switch camera off i got 93% battery life in the morning left without any activities.Same with volta😒i think dji battery system is way better than gopro.Just my opinion. Thanks for great video!
If you store your batteries for long time, they shouldn’t be fully charged anyway. This is how you damage your batteries… This is why on the mini drone serie for example, they made an update few years ago so battery starts to discharge by themselves after 48h, which is a really good thing because that makes your batteries much more durable ;)
I also think that they didn’t need to make this a three-battery charger. Two would have be enough. Go out with all three charged and when one dies, swap it with a fully charged one and charge with a power bank. If you run down the 2nd one before the 1st one has charged, you still have the 3rd one at 100%. And there’s no way you could run down two before the third one is fully charged. Seems like a wasted opportunity here. Would have cost them less to produce and less bulk for the user. Win-win
When the battery lights start blinkin green on and off, does that mean they're fully charged? So far my understanding is that Red = Low, Orange = Medium, Green = 75%+ and basically trying to understand if flashing green on / off is 100%?
@@leeretallic My apolgoies for asking another question but I am new to the DJI Osmo 4. My charging case has 2 of the 3 batteries flash green on/off which according to the support document means no batteries detected. When I unplug the batterie case from the charger, all three lights go solid green and they stop blinking. I am just really hoping I don't have a problematic batterie case or 2 faulty batteries. Again apolgies for the questions I am just trying to figure this out!
@@mentalsplitmusic I talked to DJI support, and they informed me that the DJI Osmo 4 batteries come in a "sleep state" to help them last longer while they sit on store shelves at stores like Best Buy. DJI instructed me to either charge the batteries one by one in the camera itself or charge all three of them with a non-fast charger in the battery case. Then, I was to run each battery down to 5% in the camera and recharge them as mentioned above. I went to my local Best Buy and picked up a USB-C 30W wall charger. The first time, I charged the batteries one by one in the camera and ran each battery down to 5% before recharging. The second time, I charged all three batteries in the case using the USB-C 30W wall charger, then ran all three batteries down to 5% in the camera again. Now, when I charge the batteries in the battery case using the 30W USB-C wall charger, the case is no longer blinking, and everything seems to be working properly. I do all my recording in 1080p60. Battery 1 gets 99 minutes, battery 2 gets 103 minutes, and battery 3 gets 102 minutes of recording time at 1080p60. I emailed my results to DJI, and they confirmed that this is within spec and the batteries are operating as intended.
I was also under this impression...thought I had a malfunctioning case. Very nasty advertising technique from DJI. They made it seem like it was a powerbank and it wasnt clearly stated that it wasnt...
I'm just going off older models of battery care. In some other charging devices I have had batteries discharging slightly when terminals touch. I would hope this is sorted now but I won't connect them just I case 👍
@@leeretallic I wouldn't be a bit surprised that if you put a discharged battery in this box that it would 'steal' charge from the other charged up batteries.
I'm a bit confused. How many times does it take to fully charge a battery. Mine is connected to a charger in the last 2 hours and one battery is still red.
Thank you so much! I was also under the impression that the case will charge the batteries on the go while out and about.

Yes never store batteries full or they'll be useless
Thanks for the video. Roughly how long did the batteries take to charge the first time you charged them in this?
I use a 65w charger so they fast charge. A normal charger takes a while not sure of the actual time.
I thought the same, thanks for sharing
Great one
how long does it take to charge all the three batteries?
18 minutes each
So what does the button when you can just flip open the cover to see charge state?
It needs a led screen to see the charging status I reckon.
