  • Watch how a Purdue University invention enables a person to carry the Purdue fight song “Hail Purdue” inside their body and only play it out loud when touching a surface with a speaker. The technology also makes it possible for the person to transfer the song to someone else’s body by holding hands.
The invention, developed by a team led by Purdue professor Shreyas Sen, establishes an internet connection within the body that devices can use to send data to each other, such as music, when in close contact with the person’s skin. The invention is being commercialized as a product called “Wi-R” through the startup Ixana, founded by Sen, his former students, and other Purdue alumni.
