Both voice actors for Mahito and Itadori POPPED OFF this ep they are so insanely talented
Mahito's voice actor was losing it lol.
Mahito's OVA is the goat of the series, IMO.l
Itadori's VA performance of breaking down infront of Todo was phenomenal. I never saw it coming
We both felt terrible for Itadori this arc. He went through too much.
When you land a black flash it puts you in the zone, your use of cursed energy becomes more natural and instinctive. Your sense are also generally sharpened and your confidence restored, it basically allows you to reach and even temporarily exceed he maximum potential of your skill. That's why it says they're all at "120% of their latent potential" is because all of them have landed a black flash
Characters do not need a "proper send off" from a story. The sooner you learn this lesson, the easier it will be. Death is not fair: People do not always get "proper send offs".
We know that. We've both consumed plenty of media where characters die for no reason. Heck, one of my favorite quotes from a comic is "People die in stupid upsetting ways, and you have to deal with it." That doesn't mean it's not shocking lol.
The idea of a "proper death" has been a theme since episode 1 and the conversation Itadori had with his grandfather. It was his goal to try to at least allow the people he knows to have one, but the world of JJK isn't always so kind.
These innocent viewers have no idea just how evil Gege truly is lol, you can tell by their comments about which characters died and which ones will live.

Easily top 3 episode of the season. At the least top 5, the ending song with the final scene was perfect.

I really recommend Attack on Titan, it has a similar vibe but more centered about a story, mystery and strategy.
Mahito is a goated villain fr fr. He made Season 2 of JJK peak for me in terms of violence and brutality, aside from the King of Curses himself, Sukuna. His VA is the best in season 2.
Remember black flash have you go into the zone which is basically 120% of your latent potential(which is why all of them are at 120% because they all did black flash) also todo did zero damage this fight lol because he can’t touch mahito soul only Yuji can which is why he specifically called his name in the end scene.
