- The Impreza had a bit of a cosmetic makeover in the rear. The upper valance is something many people try to drill holes for so that it can be bolted on. I opted not to put holes through the body with the type of climate we have. It would only introduce leaks and even if it didn't, the urethane type option I used is easier to try to remove from paint than it is filling a hole. The badging is all the original lettering applied with OEM style double sided 3M. It was measured before removal and I was able to apply all of the badges close to perfect.
The tail lamps are not a direct fit. They stick outward on the inner bottom corner due to the round shape of the lamp that hangs below the straight line. I don't think there will be a sealing issue but I will keep my eye on the trunk for water. The LED signals required resistors wired in, so that was done at the same time to complete the install.

I just bought an old 2005 outback 5MT to turn into an adventure vehicle. Excited to see the forester!
I just had my 99 forester spin a bearing... I felt the same about it. It was the best vehicle I've ever had!
As for repairs/maintenance I've done brakes, tires, front sway links, one CV axle, a belt, oil changes and fuel. I've never even had to top up the coolant since I bought it 7 years ago. The tires I bought back then are at the end of life, so going bigger tires means getting everything else done.
WRX has come up well, looks good. My daily is an 03 Forester X, I love it, such a great allround reliable vehicle. Looking forward to the Forester build.
Thanks. The Forester really has been the best to me and does everything I really need. This first stage will make it more functional and replace much of the aged worn parts at the same time. I'm a little excited lol.
