    Even in 2024 this kind of build with a 5700g still makes for a great alternative to any high end arm based androidbox for your tv. All the stuff is so much cheaper now too. Pair with one of those rii i8 keypads and you're set.

    I have an Inwin Chopin and a B550 Aorus and a R5 5600G. Noctua cooler. Pretty much identical to your build. When I do some crazy gaming it shuts down. Only thing overclocked is my memory is XMP. Moved the build to an NR200P and no more shutdowns.

    • @2020Tech4U
      @2020Tech4U  2 роки тому +1

      I really like the NR200P it gives you options unlike the Choppin, I believe the problem with shutting down was due to those Micro spikes in power draw that was tripping the power supply, it's a small PSU and not really great for gaming like AAA titles, I am editing a video adding a discreet GPU but also that meant adding a external ATX PSU so that would totally negate using a super small form factor case like the choppin lol But I like the move to the NR200P that was smart for extensive gaming sessions

    Q. Does the Chopin's PSU have enough in the tank to run the 5700G, or is it at risk of failing to provide sufficient wattage?

    • @2020Tech4U
      @2020Tech4U  2 роки тому +2

      The most power draw I've seen a 5700G pull was 89 watts so if the 150 watt PSU only can provide 80% of the total 150watts thats still 120watts leaving 31 watts for other components like RGB and I think at most is like 2 watts leaving 29 watts a average 2.5in SSD can pull upto 8 watts leaving 21 watts Sorry for the breakdown but I just want you to see how I arrived to my decision lol Again this is asuming the 150watt PSU is running at 80% efficiency. So if you drop RGB add another SSD or NVME then you still have headroom for the 5700G to run just fine. But definitely use the Noctua cooler to keep temp in check for the CPU logic to boost and do it's thing. Again sorry for the long winded explanation but you can use it as sort of a guide. I hope that helped :)

    Nice build ! but there is something I have to mention about the inwin chopin, if you using a motherboard and the m.2 ssd is on the "backside", your m.2 ssd has a chance to "crush" while you fixed the 2.5 ssd due to inwin chopin ' 2.5 ssd screw holes might right in front of M.2. (exactly in 20:24) that is how inwin chopin kill my m.2. (my motherboard: Biostar X470NH itx)
    The official inwin told me "inwin chopin has published for 5 years, in that time there were not much M.2, so they feel sorry about it" ( but they still selling it ?!)
    I have no idea whether they fix this problem in the pro version or not.
    so my own opinion is to take care when you use it or even NOT buy it!

    My question is regarding the motherboard. I like the Asrock motherboard but open for other brands.
    The new PC is for basic home use with some photo and video editing, no gaming at all.
    According to this which motherboard that gives best value for the would you recommend?

      I’m editing the video as we speak lol I’ve been reluctant in uploading it because the TV I used was dirty (the screen) but your like the 10 th person to ask so I will have it up in 4 days (life permitting) lol but yes if the GPU requires additional power besides the 75 watts (usually) provided through the PCIe rail, Than an additional power supply will be needed. But you can use a really low wattage (GPU dependent) for the GPU. Spoiler warning, it worked great lol

    Built one of these. 5600g , 1TB m.2, 2x8G 3600 MHz RAM. Reused an Aorus B450i Pro Wifi motherboard. Runs ok at base memory speed. But with XMP enabled the BIOS resets itself and after rebooting looks for a GPU. So no graphics output. Have to short the reset pins to make it recognise my monitor. Then re-configure the BIOS. Next step is to set XMP and underclock the RAM to 3200 MHz. Does anyone have any other ideas on how to fix this problem ?

    • @2020Tech4U
      @2020Tech4U  2 роки тому

      Yes, maybe lol In the BIOS look for a setting where you can set your primary graphics output to the APU and this should fix it. If you cannot find it just let me know and I'll try to walk u through it. Remember that XMP also raises power draw which might be the issue with the small PSU.

      My 3600 MHz DDR4 ran at max speed on this mobo with a 3-3300X so DDR4 max of 3200 MHz might be an 5600G APU limitation.
      Using XMP on this mobo always resets Initial Display Output to PCIe 1 Slot so no video from IGD Video. I am getting a cheap riser cable to use with an old GPU I have as a disaster backup. Otherwise have to disassemble the mobo from the case to get it running.
      TIP - get the sytem running and configure the BIOS before installing mobo into this or any small ITX case.

      First off I'm sorry for the last response, so for a power supply you need to check what they come with, different wattages come with different cables, so really investigate, usually anything over 850 has all cables, these smaller PSU's you need to research.
