That is a WONDERFUL album! I was just spinning it a week or so ago. Not only are the songs great, but the sheer beauty/sound of that album is beyond amazing. It is one of the albums I show people when they ask "why vinyl?".

Armien What a wonderful video.I also have been waiting for this reissue. I came a cross this on CD years ago and have wanted a vinyl copy since. When I saw it was being redone I was ecstatic to say the least. World Music has become my favorite ever since hearing Paul Simmons ( Graceland back in the day).Then it was Mickey Hart from the Grateful Dead's solo stuff that is just incredible and Peter Gabriel pretty much sealed the deal with Biko.Don't let me forget Bela Fleck & The Flecktones also. I must say that World Music seems to spread the love of People and our differences and common joys of daily life.Peace My Friend and now that I know you also like World I shall keep an eye out for something Special for you. Great review, love the enthusiasm! Shame so many of these brand new records seem to be arriving with warps and pressing defects - wonder if it is because of the backlogs at pressing plants and quality control starting to slide or just equipment getting old and needing to be upgraded. Nice, only have this one on CD myself!
Hello Doug, I couldn't agree more! The pressing quality in these days is so bad! I have different ideas why so many problems appear but yeah... The biggest problem is missing quality control and backlogs at pressing plants. I still have some hope that it will get better when the first big wave of the "renaissance" is over. +Doug A. Doug Personally I only buy from Record Companies that are owned by Audiophiles. Such as Mobile Fidelity,Quality Record Pressings,Music on Vinyl,Rhino and so on. QRP just invested a small fortune buying all of Sheffield Labs Equipment and also updating there own Equipment.Sheffield had what was considered the Finest equipment bar none. Then QRP which I believe is the Company handling this Reissue of Buena Vista Social Club.Also these Companies have hired the best Engineers in the Business IE Bernie Grundman,Steve Hoffman come to mind immediately.The point being they are coming on strong with the finest records the world has ever seen.Peace My Friend.

I have been lucky and not gotten any terribly bad non-reggae pressings, I tend to stick to labels like Rhino or Light In The Attic that seem to be more reliable for quality. Oh and I do have one Sheffield Labs LP from the 70's that I found not too long ago, great recording for sure. Cheers.

This album brings back so many good memories from the time i saw them play in the Carré Theater in Amsterdam in 1998. I am so happy i got an copy of this classic today !

Well you shouldn't stack them. The Kallax series from Ikea is always a good and cheap way to go. Otherwise you could just use random boxes with a cover so that they are stackable. Thanks for watching :) Armien

Hallo Armien! Wie ich aus deinen vorherigen Videos schließe, hast du bei jpc vorbestellt? Ich hatte, ähnlich wie du, am 03.02.15 vorbestellt und heute die LP erhalten. Meine LP hing auf Seite D bei Track 2 ("Murmullo"), so dass das System in einer Endlosschleife sprang. Ich habe dann auf meinen Technics 1210 gewechselt, um die Stelle genauestens zu identifizieren . Nach ausgiebiger Behandlung selbiger Stelle mit LADS und der Loricraft-Bürste habe ich den Fehler nicht reproduzieren können. Ich würde dir aber raten, die LP zurückzuschicken, wenn du den Pressfehler nicht beheben kannst. JPC beispielsweise ist bei mir immer kulant und ich schicke bei Fehlern rigoros zurück. World Circuit produziert ja ansonsten sehr sorgfältig, meine Ausgabe klingt fantastisch, ich kenne die Classic Records Ausgabe aber auch nicht. Darf ich fragen, zu welcher PWM du gewechselt bist oder ist dann der Überraschungseffekt für das Video weg? Ich genieße jedes deiner Videos! LG aus der Nähe Oldenburgs, Myschkin.
+Myschkin Danke für den netten Kommentar! Freut mich sehr! Einen Hänger hat meine Ausgabe nicht. Dafür einen kleinen Kratzer in den ersten 10 Sekunden auf der C Seite. Dazu kommt, dass die LPs leicht verwellt sind. Normalerweise wäre es noch so gerade in der Toleranz. Ich werde sie aber tatsächlich, genau so wie du es empfohlen hast, zurück an JPC schicken. Die sind in der Tat sehr kulant und ich finde man kann auch eine makellose Ausgabe erwarten. Ich benutze aktuell noch eine alte Clearaudio Smart Matrix der ersten Generation. Vor kurzem habe ich dann eine normale (schwarze) Matrix angeschafft. Ich werde demnächst ein passendes Video aufnehmen. Vielen Dank für's reinschauen und ein schönes Wochenende! Same for the box set of the Garbage debut album and there will also be a huge Rammstein box set becoming available in early december.
