Anthony Starr is killing it (pun intended) with his performance as Homelander BUT man oh man this dude makes King Joffrey and Ramsay Bolton from Game Of Thrones look like boy scouts.
I noticed that until the Black Noir reveal, he is drawn as more skinny than Homelander but when he reveals himself he's drawn more broad just like Homelander. So maybe they didn't think of that twist until the end.
What sucks about the comics, Homelander honestly was just a guy that was abused mentally, and emotionally, he didn’t do any of the horrors Billy Butcher thought he did.. so in all, Homelander was innocent, just riddled with mental health issues- it’s Black Noir that’s the true monster. In the show? They’ve went the other way with it, so I wonder how that’s going to play out..
Also worth mentioning that in the comics, Homelander's mother was some unnamed woman with mental illnesses. No doubt this plays a role in his instability

Yea Superman has like a whole toolbag of powers Homelander doesn't. I know it's a budget thing but just some of the fights we've seen Superman have compared to some of the fights we've seen in the Boys.. People are getting smashed into walls in the show while Superman fights throughout shows and films are sending people through entire buildings or mountains etc.. Homelander also attempts to address the issue of flying powers and being able to lift heavy objects in the process. Homelander apparently couldn't lift something like a plane while flying because his 'powers of propulsion' just didn't have enough force behind it. This makes Superman superior in a flying fight.
I'm glad they didn't give him ice breath, even considering it's a superhero with super powers ice breath (at least the way superman had it) isn't actually possible, it violates the laws of thermodynamics and would require one to destroy energy.

No, it’s Newton’s first law of motion that’s why he can’t lift the plane in midair. He’d either knock into it if he flew to gain momentum or he’d be pushing off the plane.
Superman could have saved the plane. He has done that in many incarnations. I think Superman's powers are superior to Homelanders and he would win in a fight or in a contest of powers.

These characters are great. Yes, each one of them is royally messed up in their own way, but they're actually interesting individuals, unlike their mainstream Marvel and DC counterparts who've been old, tired and boring for DECADES NOW.

It looks like Mauve is going to die this season, but I really like her character now. Hopefully they do more with her.
