I believe you could have lived and flourished in any time period. A Noble Woman at a Ball, a nurse or herbalist in the 1800's, a sorceress in medieval times to a space traveling physician in the future. What next? The Daughter of Pharaoh? A peasant Woman during the French Revolution. An actress in the 1920's? A Woman Fighter in the French Resistance? Or a spy for Napoleon? I am sure I speak for most here saying we can't wait to see and watch.

the photo you showed of an asian woman with the hair style made me so unimaginably happy. a lot of people might think that's an overreaction, but i don't often see people of my race in earlier time periods pictured as anything other than the low-wage migrant worker or miserable war refugee. it feels nice to be reminded that my race's history isn't all misery and suffering, especially when the reminder doesn't come from inside the house. it's important to me knowing that asian happiness does not always go unacknowledged/unseen

Accept your people history instead of screaming to be represented in western fashion.. which is not a symbol of wealth and prosperity.. a lot of people, white people, were also poor, miserable, had to survive during fascism and migrate. This whole thing of "representation matters" as for other races been like sub-races to white, is so stupidly racist, really.

Most emotionally intelligent people will understand how you feel and what you're saying, and that it's not about "accepting history", it's about the media and education system of the white western world misrepresenting history to create a narrative of inferiority for those of us that don't fit certain ethnic demographics. And yes, that includes creating a border between poor whites and poor PoC.

I have pictures of my grandma with this kind of hairstyle. She was born in 1923, so she entered her adult years in the 40s. I really miss her. She passed away when I was still a kid, but seeing anything that reminds me of my Nana always makes me smile, so thanks for doing this.

I once had a young colleague who was very into 40s and 50s fashion. She came to work every morning perfectly styled - hair, make up and clothes. She stood up 2 hours before work just to get it all done. It was very impressing.

Wow! I am 66 years old. I now know how my Mom accomplished this "look" that I have always admired in photographs of her as a young woman living in Clevland, Ohio & while working at the USO club in San Diego, Ca. during WWII. Mystery solved!😆Thank you❤

I think this woman is incredible. Her videos pop up every now and then and they’re always amazing. Does anyone know if her full-time job is in film production or media or something? The quality of the work she produces is fantastic, artistic and really well researched. If she’s not doing it already she should be working as a director or film producer or something!

I have some photos of my Gran in Victory Rolls,taken during WW2. They made soft oblong rolls called Rats. They rolled their hair around the rat and pinned it up.
Me at minute 6:13 “ohh I wish I was the doll head” ☺️😄 it’s so relaxing to hear the brush!

Beautiful work. Some of the designs on late 1930s brushes and tools are reminiscent of the Edwardian era, to me. I particularly love the lamp you chose for the background. It is very elegant.

Love the styling video! 1940's and 1950's hair has been my favorite since I was in highschool. Theres just something so elegent about the way they sculpt the hair.
PS: Just a couple extra tips for anyone wanting to recreate this at home. I have long, fine, straight hair and I've found that curling my hair beforehand (you can heat curl it but I prefer an overnight/wet set) in the direction of your victory roll makes it a lot easier to roll the hair and helps the ends stay tucked in. Also, applying pomade to the section when you pull it up to start rolling helps with flyaways and gives the hair more sculptability. Hope this is helpful!

I am definitely loving the storytelling in a soft voice and appreciate the aesthetic of antiques and the romantic vibes, but finding that the sounds of objects are ineffective. I want to hear about your experience with ASMR and how watching a video like this could lull you to a good night's rest? because for me I am addicted to watching videos in bed, but that would entail binging all night and not sleeping at all... or binge until I am exhausted and fall asleep.
