Check the glove box. Make sure it is in place properly and won’t fall out. Also check for the owners manual in there! (And service books).
Check other latching mechanisms around the interior.
Check the boot opens and holds up ok.
Check for the spare tyre. If not in boot, may be under the car. Tyre change tools should also be present somewhere.
Check in the spare tyre well for water / moisture. Will make your boot mouldy.
Check the well for any signs of damage from a rear end collision.
Check the lid for rust or signs of a crash also.
As closing the boot, ensure it latches properly.
