First time reading this I was actually really surprised they killed the original Gertrude and went back to the younger one. I agree that the new one should've just kept the original Gertrude. and glad we have the same thoughts about Queen Gertrude... her design was nice af

@@Destroyer_Of_RatsI wouldn't say it's absolutely pointless. The consequences of adult Gertrude's actions still impact kid Gertrude(i.e Vergil appearing, the Gertlins' existence). Man Fairyland did kinda fall off. I was hoping it would be about adult Gurtrude learning even a tiny fraction of beingna grown up while also taking revenge on the people that wronged her. So basically, the artist shown in the beginning when she lost the fight in the bar. That adult Gertrude was weaker compared to her child form. Which is why the adult lost to Child Gertrude. But whats annoying is there no explanation on why she's stronger 😡
I assumed she was weaker because she no longer is the chosen one by fairy land and that was the one thing that give her the extra edge in first place there
One logical reason probably she haven't got used to her body yet, has been 4 decades in child body compared few years in adult body plus how badly her lifestyle was when in real life plus she barely workout like when she still fairytale, so the OG really had massive disadvantages she like old Obi Wan fighting agile Yoda.

I love how the artist knows how to draw women, that's great. Even as someone who recently got into this series, the way this sequel has been going has been really fucking disappointing and now I wanna dump an idea for an IHF sequel that expands on Gert's life in the real world so here it is. Gert manages to leave Fairyland as an 8 year old without any time in the real world passing, and now that she's finally out of there, her story is now focused on her aging throughout the years, though with new conflicts of her having to find a new purpose in the real world, having to actually grow up and needing to get over the trauma of having 27 years worth of Fairyland memories in her mind, up until she gets a job at the office from the end of the original run where she ends up as a jaded, cynical office drone after 27 years have really passed, wakes up from a dream about reminiscing her glory years as the infamous, bloodthirsty warrior of Fairyland while at work, searches for a way to Fairyland on the internet and exclaims "Fuck Fairyland" while going up to deliver papers to her boss, ending on a bittersweet note where she realizes the real world is only fun when you're a child but boring as hell when you're an adult, growing up isn't the amazing experience she thought it would've been and absolutely sucks, coupled with the fact that her memories of Fairyland will probably remain with her for the rest of her life, but in spite of all this, she begrudgingly accepts her new life in adulthood and moves on, vowing to never go back to Fairyland ever again. Maybe I'd extend it quite a bit to throw in Happy and Duncan who also escaped and grew up like Gert did, with Happy being a co-worker at Gert's office who doesn't have any memory of her time in Fairyland but does remember meeting a girl that looked oddly similar to Gert from a vague childhood dream she had and wants to become friends with her, though Gert reluctantly accepts her friendship since only she remembers what she did to Happy, and Duncan working at Magic Mart and becoming just as grumpy as Gert is, though with the difference of his grumpiness stemming from him missing Fairyland after returning home, contrasting with Gert's grumpiness coming from growing to hate the place after being trapped there for what was decades from her perspective and just wanting her memories of it to leave her alone tl;dr: Much like how the original series deconstructs the idea that being in such an overly saccharine world for years away from home would drive someone nuts, have a sequel deconstruct the idea of Gert needing to readapt herself back to living a normal life and having to get over her trauma now that her long adventure is over and she's back home
New idea as a reply so I don't have to make the comment longer than it already is Giving Gert a friend who has the personality of Larry and essentially acts as his substitute without having to creating some contrived reason to put him in since the story's focus is about Gert trying to leave behind Fairyland for good while growing up (I'd probably make them a childhood friend since Gert would probably wanna patch up the Larry shaped hole in her life since he was her only friend for a long time and even thanked him for everything at the end of her journey, I'd also make them a teacher by the time Gert gets the office job since it seems natural for the Larry equivalent of this story to get a job that is essentially just Larry's job but befitted to real life. Kinda wild that the first 7 issues (the ones with adult Gert) took most of the video, then the other 8 fucking issues where done in like a minute because nothing happens Adult Gert was so fun
damn it really became dogshit as soon as they killed off og gertrude. So many plotholes and just shitty things that feel shoved in. Not only did dragon kid age but old timeline gertrude shouldn't even remember virgil.
My sort of "alternate ending" would've been to give "gert prime" some level of character development and have her realize she didn't want to leave fairyland because of the friends she's made and the fact she never really could fit in, in the real world. Then have young gert try to take over fairyland only to be stopped by prime gert, who didn't want her other self to ruin fairyland for her. After her defeat, young gert reveals she freed cloudia and that she escaped to the real world with plans to take over. So gert makes the decision to return to the real world with virgil and the rat guy to fight cloudia and save the world.
I think you put more thought into the plot than the writers did. Don't see why Prime Gertrude wouldn't be so sick of Fairyland that she'd ever want to stay; but not wanting to make things worse is understandable, she at least tried* turning over a new leaf even before returning to the real world.
Honestly I could see Gert wanting to stay in fairyland Think back to how terrible and boring her life in the real world is Someone like Gertrude would much prefer the chaotic world of fairyland A world where she just gets to kick ass all the time And she could trick young Gert still not knowing what the real world is like to step her terror and leave It seems like gerts gonna improve………until she causes 10x worse damage than whatever young Gert was thinking of
@@FarBeyondStrange there was a panel in the wordless issue where gert had a bonding moment with Virgil, so i figured he'd be something of an anchor for her. Plus after realizing how miserable her life is in the real world I doubt she'd be in a hurry to go back.
I have to admit I have been disappointed by this new issue. The inferno arc was just “Gertrude but in hell rather than fairyland” but it felt it was setting up stuff, when she got stuck in Fairyland again there was so much potential… …and then we got the reset and things got really confusing. We are back at a Gertrude we saw the end of the story, still stuck in leaving Fairyland that would just loop us again. I feel the writers have also no idea where are they going with this. This Gertrude seems to know the Queen evil arc? Then it’s the one that SHOULD have learned her lesson about not killing everything on sight? But still acts like she doesn’t, it feels I’m reading old issues crammed in the old story. A major problem is…what now? Young Gertrude did everything. Was queen, demon queen, destroyer, saviour…she did all and more in Fairyland, all that was left to her was going home…which we have saw the final results already. The only appeal left was adult Gertrude in fairyland. I do hope they bring her back or something because the serie feels back to the filler arc and it’s getting boring.
Killing Old Gertrude was definitely a big mistake. It'd be better if she realized that if she sent Young Gertrude (or Gertie) back in time, she'd never enter Fairyland and her life would be so much better. So they work together to find a way to send Gertie to before anything happened and Gertrude home.
Yeah I’m with everyone else I think the best direction got the series would have been adult Gert learning how to be more of a normal person, catching up to her age in her own crazy way. It could have been a good metaphor for people who feel like they also have no practical skills or direction in life finding their ways, as all people do. Adult Gert dying ruined like. The whole first 50% of IHFL 2022.
Ok, the naked jokes where out of touch, even for the comic humor. But killing adult Gertrud... yeah, this is a mistake, more like Spider-man getting divorced by second time.
I find it hilarious is when they first made the portal to Fairyland, they send out a group as a test which compose of soldier, scientist and a bunch of kids on bicycle. The latter being an 80's reference. Needless to say the result was the same one were in Hellva Boss season 2, the Government agents send kids to the Hell portal!
I understand that this is one of those comic series that plays a lot on violence and the WTF elements... but I admit that often these WTF moments are bad because they don't lead to anything. The destruction of a world, the multiplication of these monsters, the killing of the protagonist (because basically the adult Gertrude was the protagonist) I admit were chosen a bit at random. Some things like the whale were passable because it was only one chapter, but with how the GENERAL PLOT is moving... it needs reviewing.
The biggest question i have for this second part series so far... WHERE IS HER PARENTS??? i mean i know its been 30 years but that makes them like what 50? 60? Her parents were relatively young when she got into the memory illusion so most likely they're still alive. The series never touched on that even tho gertrude was visibly missing them so much on the last one
You sounded confused in the eating the heart part. Lemme explain: Is a common thing about the werewolf curse, you eat the heart of the were wolf that bit you, Memory serves it was in a movie. "American werewolf in london" I think that is one with some badass practical effects, reference to this day. Check it up if you feel like it . Its a good time.

Thank you for introducing me to the first run of I Hate Fairyland. After watching the first video, I bought it. I'm glad that you did this video, as well. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Endgame series.
This is the second best isekai story out there. The best is Brutal Legend. An entire game of isekai in a world of metal albums brought to life in all kinds of metal genres while playing as an actual adult roadie voices by Jack Black.
I think Duncan aged because he was no longer considered a guest after the next guest got out, as a resident, he was then subjected to time again and started to age
You are a genius! When I turn 21, I’m definitely making a video where I read the books again and take a shot every time something crazy happens or whenever she says "fluff."

Adult Gert was so fun
I agree, was super disappointed when he casually killed "adult" Gertrude and the story continued with part 1 Gertrude from the past
Yo! Seeing my comment at 0:18 was so hype ngl
YOU'RE A STAR!!!

OMG
damn it really became dogshit as soon as they killed off og gertrude. So many plotholes and just shitty things that feel shoved in. Not only did dragon kid age but old timeline gertrude shouldn't even remember virgil.
Damm…..killing the adult one was a huge miss.
Fr 😢😢
the entire appeal of the new arc was that she was an adult kinda feels dumb to kill her off for what a shock ending twist
Honestly, they could have had the older one still have to return to fairyland to ensure the park actually gets built
Honestly
I could see Gert wanting to stay in fairyland
Think back to how terrible and boring her life in the real world is
Someone like Gertrude would much prefer the chaotic world of fairyland
A world where she just gets to kick ass all the time
And she could trick young Gert still not knowing what the real world is like to step her terror and leave
It seems like gerts gonna improve………until she causes 10x worse damage than whatever young Gert was thinking of
@@FarBeyondStrange there was a panel in the wordless issue where gert had a bonding moment with Virgil, so i figured he'd be something of an anchor for her. Plus after realizing how miserable her life is in the real world I doubt she'd be in a hurry to go back.
I have to admit I have been disappointed by this new issue. The inferno arc was just “Gertrude but in hell rather than fairyland” but it felt it was setting up stuff, when she got stuck in Fairyland again there was so much potential…
…and then we got the reset and things got really confusing.
It's amazing how I found out this exists, started loving it, and am now plagued with incredible disappointment after being caught up all in one day!
Yeah…. This went WAYYYYYYYY off the dead end when they killed off Original Gertrude
14:37 MOM IM IN A VIDEO!
I see you

..AND AGAIN....TOTALLY AGREE THAT STORY FLUFFING FELL APART......
.....YUP,THE DUDE HAS RAN OUT OF IDEAS
Ok, the naked jokes where out of touch, even for the comic humor. But killing adult Gertrud... yeah, this is a mistake, more like Spider-man getting divorced by second time.
At least I'm not the only one that thinks older Gert's are kinda hot
Nah she ain't kinda hot she just straight up hot 11/10 even
Yes she is
Gertrude couldn’t catch a break

The Anticipated PART 2 OF I hate candyland is here!
I been waiting for this one! 🔥🔥🔥
Candy??
this remind of what they done with spaw. They prolonged the series too much because it was the main title who sold the most for image.
Not trying to be a gooner but yeah I'm with you, she should have stayed as an adult
How many drugs did the author of Fairyland take while writing and drawing his comic? Yes.
The one where the joker turns good sounds low-key interesting, definitely would like to watch a video on that
Hope they bring back original Gertrude.
Dude, I hate fairyland is so underrated dude! It has to be greenlit to be a series soon!
Possibly died or sold house and moved on to live elsewhere.
You sounded confused in the eating the heart part.
Lemme explain:
Is a common thing about the werewolf curse, you eat the heart of the were wolf that bit you,
Memory serves it was in a movie.
"American werewolf in london"
I think that is one with some badass practical effects, reference to this day.
Check it up if you feel like it .
Its a good time.
Agreed, worst direction, adult Gertie would've been so much more interesting... and naughty...
They killed her! Whhhyyy!!!
Mannnn, the original i hate fairy land, traumatized me like a mf as a kid. i watched a comicstorian ( rest his soul) when i was like 9 or 10, and that mf scared me
6:12 I did not expect the full-on vore...

Its called commitment bro. You show us two parts of something cool, you gotta finish. Thank you for doing so.
The lesson: stop inviting humans to Fairyland
Why are the cloud royalty hot
7:53 *I love this part*
Wholesome Gertude? Thats Impossible!
I thought it was an unspoken rule that the og mc is the one that gets the plot armor
he went live action with it
I like how they took the concept of an Isekai and used a children's book art style to make this amazing comic.
Yo, is that the plants vs zombies guy? 2:02
Crazy Dave.👆
You need more subs
I'm really excited to see your coverage on batman white knight
I hope they bring the REAL Gertrude back😫
Thank you for introducing me to the first run of I Hate Fairyland. After watching the first video, I bought it. I'm glad that you did this video, as well. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Endgame series.
That music was probably the best way to read those few panels, like if i just read them i wouldn't have gotten that awesome montage
CAN YOU TALK ABOUT JOHNNY THE HOMICIDAL MANIAC PLEASE 🥹😭
PLEASEEEE WE NEED MORE NEW JTHM CONTENT

This is the second best isekai story out there.
The best is Brutal Legend. An entire game of isekai in a world of metal albums brought to life in all kinds of metal genres while playing as an actual adult roadie voices by Jack Black.
That was fun. thanks for doing part 2. After the previous video, I was wondering about it.
I think Duncan aged because he was no longer considered a guest after the next guest got out, as a resident, he was then subjected to time again and started to age
Guess thats a price of covering something almost noone knows about ^^"
Ngl ive never been so disappointed in my life....is this how my dad feels about me ??
Your commentary is amazing and naked Gertrude has scarred me for life.
RIGHT?!
Adult Gertrude does things to me. Confusing things.
Take a shot every time you say fairyland. You will die faster than queen cloudia after entering the real world.
You are a genius! When I turn 21, I’m definitely making a video where I read the books again and take a shot every time something crazy happens or whenever she says "fluff."
Honestly I think hearing about the Joker becoming good would be a fire video
pleaase summerized my entire life in a 15 minute video. I need to know how I die
It seems like they brainstormed and decided to cram everything they could think of into this comic
Can’t wait for the next Fairlyland episode 😌
Wait a few issues and do MORE. Your voice is so chill for this😊
why do all these comics in this genre do the whole multiverse thing

Please make more I hate Fairyland videos! 😂
In all seriousness, I hate Fairyland helped me discover your channel. However I would love to see IZombie, Sin City, and Batman White Knight videos from you too. 😊
Love finding hidden gems like this channel, too bad I'm primarily here for fairyland though 😂
"never trust a guy whose nose looks straight out of Despicable Me" but I would unironically trust Gru
Love the ideas of the first 3 things you mentioned, hope they are still in the works.
I’m only realizing through Humble Bundle and this Video that they made a sequel and now I need to read it.
The genuinely fucked it when they killed her off. Like any energy I had to read the fucking story was over and I don't think I even got the monster gert part ever
cant w8 for more fairyland coverage from you.
“ why!? Look at the size of that thing!” Man is is in a stage of greif

Im four minutes into the video and now im just wondering, if Gertrude likes to fight why doesnt she just get a job as a wrestler or something?
you made the perfect edit for yourself no one can make something better
